Located in Moti Devti, in a rural setting in Gujarat. The intent was to create an infrastructure that would have a positive social impact on the local community. Construction was followed by incorporating the use of bricks, concrete, and metal columns in their true form. The classrooms are designed around the courtyard that encourages seamless outdoor-indoor integration of spaces with ample daylight and natural ventilation. The courtyard serves as a multipurpose functional place for lunch breaks, school assembly, co-curricular activities, outdoor classrooms & a community space for the village. Grande parte do auxílio veio de pessoas, não de empresas. - criaram o G10 Favelas, iniciativa que reúne lideranças e empreendedores de impacto social de diferentes comunidades. - A comunidade contratou, por meio de uma empresa privada, três ambulâncias equipadas para o atendimento de sintomáticos da covid-19, incluindo uma UTI móvel. O Samu (Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência) não chega lá! - Também foram contratados médicos, socorristas e enfermeiros para atuar 24 horas dentro da comunidade. Foram capacitados ainda 240 moradores como socorristas para apoiar 60 bases de emergência para pronto atendimento, criadas com a presença de bombeiros civis. - Formação de presidentes de rua que cuidam de 50 casas cada -isolamento de pessoas doentes em casas de acolhimento - 10 mil quentinhas distribuídas diariamente. The performance explores the scale of the somewhere city in destinations like Downtown and Santa Monica and scale of the everywhere city in the suburbia stretching from Alhambra to Watts by remapping pieces of urban fabric. With parallel repetition in lines of code and lines on maps, a collection of Sanborn maps of the Southland are sampled, scanned and projected by a robot while buildings, streets, sidewalks, and “specials” symbols are traced, pasted, or corrected on screens, then printed live. Fotografar é umas das minhas grandes paixões e uns dos meus hobbies favoritos. Estou sempre postando as fotos aqui pra falar de algum destino ou atração e no blog elas ilustram e complementam as matérias, mas eu nunca parei pra falar das minhas fotos em si. Nesses últimos tempos algumas ideias de conteúdo que eu ainda não explorei me surgiram. E falar de fotografia é umas delas, mas de uma forma descontraída, sem nada técnico, pra você aproveitar com sua câmera ou celular. Vou começar pelo mural mais fotografado da Avenida Paulista. O Mural do Oscar Niemeyer do @kobrastreetart que fica na Avenida Paulista é uns dos meus favoritos em São Paulo. Mesmo que eu já tenha tirado diversas fotos seja com a câmera ou celular ao longo de tantos anos desde que o mural foi criado, se eu passar em frente eu tiro mais uma foto. Mais existe três locais na Avenida Paulista que rende ângulos incríveis do mural que todo mundo pode acessar e sem pagar nada. Seguindo o carrossel das fotos do post. 1) MIRANTE DO SESC AVENIDA PAULISTA (@sescavpaulista) - Pra fotografar o mural do alto com a vista mais panorâmica. É possível conseguir ótimos ângulos tanto da parte mais alta do mirante como também da mais baixa em frente a cafeteria. 2) TERRAÇO DA CASAS DAS ROSAS (@casadasrosas) - Como o terraço fica bem de frente do mural é um local perfeito pra ser fotografado com o mural atrás e pra tirar fotos com o mural mais em destaque. 3) JAPAN HOUSE SÃO PAULO (@japanhousesp) - Pra tirar fotos de pertinho, já que o mural fica bem atrás da praça de entrada do Japan House. Mas eu também adoro aproveitar a composição do mural com a fachada de madeira. As fotos foram tirada em dias diferente então a luz mudou entre elas. It’s alive! The Leader Theater’s original facade recently emerged from 50 years of hibernation behind metal cladding. Shoutout to @presalliancephl for the heads up. Built as a 1000-seater in 1912 at 41st and Lancaster, The Leader lived up to its name by being the first silent movie house in Philly to install a pipe organ. Famed WDAS DJ Georgie Woods hosted a screening of “Rock, Rock, Rock” there in 1957. It closed in ‘68 and PAL moved in soon after. The facade also mentions a “Martin Luther King Jr Living Memorial.” If you know anything about that please comment. Shortly before the pandemic we toured the inside with the @beardedladiescabaret while helping them scout locations for the Fringe. Looked like the original proscenium is probably intact under the fake wood paneling. Also the floor to ceiling pier mirrors in the balcony. And check out the old camera in the projection room! The Saraswati river, which was the main tributary of the Ganges river before the advent of the 17th century, started silting and losing its depth and navigability. As a result, Saptagram, which was the main port of Eastern Bengal until that time went into a slow decline phase. The Portuguese traders had to find a new place suitable for their business. They moved 10 Km down south to a place that they called “Ugolim” (present day Hooghly) and resumed their business from there. Soon a great town started springing up in this new location. All the Subarna Baniks of Saptagram moved to Portuguese Hooghly and took shelter in the Southern part of the town, now called Ghutiabazar. This was then the most crowded part of the whole town and its populousness was quite in unison with its opulence, which could mainly be attributed to the Subarna Baniks, who was the special favourites of fortune. Heres the proof. Its about Power, and boy do we have something to say about power. After the explosion, power feels like an almost unavoidable choice. Looking at how power affects the visual realm in a wide variety of different spaces and nuanced ways, we want to highlight power where, for many, it remains unnoticed or, at least, unnamed. From constant surveillance by the technology we hold in our very own hands, to the statues and posters of politicians that stare down from our streets; from the body politic and the way in which it controls the physicals human form, to urban planning and the communities to whom space is allocated or denied; from the design and creation of currency to its collapse; from the rubble and wreckage left behind by a massive explosion, to the signs, symbols, and slogans carried by the people to the parliament. - @journalsafar on Instagram

One of the most exciting curatorial projects I have done in a while. In March I began collecting self-portraits made by photographers during quarantine. The collection Self-Portraits: Photographers in Confinement includes the work of photojournalists and documentary photographers who have also expanded the photography medium for self-expression. The photographers are both established and emerging, a diverse group from Europe, The Americas, Asia, Africa and Australia.
