self portrait. I wanted to create a self portrait as a celebration of moving back to New York. This is not the photo that I envisioned, but this is the photo that demanded to be created. On this day I felt down, nervous for the future, struggling with chronic illness symptoms, and a little suffocated by the city. I’ve had many reservations for moving back here full time. Chronic physical and mental health disabilities make living in a big city challenging to say the least. Especially without a solid support system. Nonetheless, just within the first month of being back here, I’m learning and growing at a much faster rate then I have by staying in the comfortable confines of my hometown. I’m finding my voice as an artist and creating value in my work as a professional. So last year I archived my baptism pictures. Deleted any hint of Christianity in my bio, but for the most part tried my best to live out scripture because my heart could not escape it(which was so annoying at first lol) my spirthday became plagued with frustration and grief so I didn’t even acknowledge it. Recently I was asked what was the best day of my life and to be happily cliche- it really was the day I was plunged in the water. . . Let’s be real- I wear depression like I wear my skin. I’ve sat in rooms with gossip. I’ve seen men blame women for what they themselves inherently take no responsibility for. Women annihilating another woman’s potential with a smile and assumption. Dissected Idols in the very church culture that tells people not to have any. I’ve lied, I’ve played the churchy politics, and for a time spoke christanese fluently lol. . . Year 3 rang loudly with creating safe spaces. Year 3 was hearing the bravest confessions from strangers/friends and shutting down any form of manipulation. Year 3, was weeping at the simplicity of worship music lyrics. Year 3 was disappearing into finding biblical truth and breaking the language that was taught to me. Year 3 was remembering the people who were forgotten or treated as irredeemable. Year 3 came with combining the psychology of being human with the obedience of loving Jesus. . . Мы перешиваем second hand? ⠀ Нам очень важен ваш фидбек то, что вам откликается в нашем бренде и как вы его видите🤍 ⠀ Концепция нашего бренда, не совсем простая и достаточно спорная, поэтому узнав, что среди наших клиентов существует такое мнение, мы решили, что хотим посвятить этому пост и поговорить об этом с вами подробнее. ⠀ Первое: наш материал для будущих изделий действительно б/у или сток, то есть он был сшит ранее, но это не значит, что эти вещи носились много лет подряд и теперь оказались в вашем гардеробе. ⠀ Многие костюмы и пиджаки попадают к нам абсолютно новыми, так как огромные размеры зачастую остаются ненужными. ⠀ Мы делаем очень проработанную селекцию нашего материала, отбираем его по всему миру и максимально стараемся воссоздать эффект новой вещи. ⠀ Всегда используем химчистку, а при необходимости и реставрацию (чаще всего фурнитуры). Также бывали случаи, когда требовалась замена подклада, но зато верх был в идеальном состоянии и хотелось сохранить вещь для дальнейшего использования, ведь в этом и есть миссия бренда. ⠀ Второе: наш продукт не массового потребления и вряд ли им станет, потому как, каждое наше изделие в единственном экземпляре и не может повториться, потому что это в прямом смысле слова — невозможно. ⠀ Расскажите нам, что вы думаете о концепции использования вторсырья для создания изделий? ⠀ Важнее ли эмоция от покупки больше осознанного потребления ? LIFE UPDATE : I won’t lie, the past two days have been such an emotional event for me... let’s just say things aren’t quite going my way😂 I didn’t post on here yesterday because it was such a busy day but you may have seen all of the foodie pics if you were following my insta story😏 THE GOOD NEWS though, is that I’m officially going to my top choice Uni of Sheffield to do Journalism Studies which is ace👌🏻I know that I’ve been put in a very fortunate position with my A levels and that not everyone has been so lucky this year and many people want appeal (that is, if they are able to financially 🙄😡) So to all the A level students in the UK, I’m thinking of you and and sincerely hope that things will turn out okay in the end❤️❤️ THE BAD NEWS: After working at the cafe since it has reopened, I was meant to be going to France today for two weeks which was cancelled about nine hours before we were set to leave due to the new rule of quarantine when we came back. So I’ve pretty much spent most of the day wallowing in self pity and trying to find something else to do😂 I managed to summon the energy to do HIIT workout and dramatically stare out to sea for half an hour but apart from that I’ve spent almost all day in bed🙃 It’s okay to have down days- it’s not always unproductive 💕 - @theplantbasediaries on Instagram

A @gucci concept I shot on FaceTime with @alvarezlilliana_ 📸Backstory - I met Lily three years ago in an airport cafe, we sat opposite eachother and got to talking, I was flying to the south of France, her Portugal. We hadn’t really spoken since until I asked her if she wanted to shoot this idea I had over FaceTime. I figured her style fit a retro idea I had, which resembled something of an old school Gucci campaign. You know the old ones you see that were probably shot in a fancy hotel in the south of France. Except we had FaceTime and a bedroom in Norwich to work with. I’ve seen a lot of photographers shooting over FaceTime, at first i was annoyed that I hadn’t come up with that idea myself. But I wanted to have a go and put a spin on it, if I could turn it into a concept, create a moodboard and make it resemble something like an old Gucci poster, then I’d be happy. I feel like during our shoot, which also turned into a 3 year catch up, we managed to do a pretty good job... - @matt.pearsonn on Instagram

Decided to try out what shooting on FaceTime will feel like myself, some people like to shoot with their cameras pointed at their phone screen using a macro lens to get raw files they can work it, personally I think Nigerian internet will embarrass you and for this work didnt really care about quality it was more about directing the model and directing how she places her phone so used the FaceTime photos option. i’m 26 years old today ... i almost didn’t celebrate it just didn’t feel right there is so much hate and injustice in the world right now and it weighs heavy on me . as i hope we’ve all been doing a bit of self reflection in our own ways i’ve dove pretty deep into myself lately and relived the times this year where i was pure love , gained wonderful friendships , amazing career opportunities, and was loved by a wonderful man . But out of the beautiful things i got to experience there were many times i was reactionary acted out of fear , said i was one way but acted another , let old conditioning and emotions take over , i was not love . Reflection can be ugly and hard and i’m not proud of choices i made but amongst the ugliness there is a beauty in growth , there is beauty in bringing the dark parts of your self to light and actually being better and pure instead of just saying it and THAT should be celebrated . i might be rambling at this point but it’s my birthday i will cry if i want to ;) but anyway sending out love to you all , wanted to show my face and say keep going , keep fighting for what is right , and keep being love 🦋 - @iamrachelspencer on Instagram
