My interest in what I eat in a day videos has transformed over the years from treating them kind of like gospel, receiving them like commandments from almighty gods, to skepticism and a kind of alarmed fascination, less with the actual content of them and more with the format and why its so sticky. Here specifically Im wondering if the (seeming) personal nature of them does more harm than good, especially when the What I Eat in a Day posts that are among the most successful seem to be very pretty, kind of meager, and contain a lot of throwaway assertions about what different foods do with not a lot facts to back them up (cue the words inflammation, bloating, toxins, etc). ⠀ ⠀ Specifically, someone asked me about @blogilates here, who has been in an almighty war with her followers over what she eats. In comments to me, she claimed to me that she is recovered from an earlier eating disorder. Her followers seem unconvinced, but are they even allowed to say what they think on her feed? If they are, is she allowed to post about this stuff? Hell, am I allowed to post about people posting about people posting? ⠀ ⠀ I ask these questions as someone who thinks this app has genuinely allowed me to reframe my thinking around my body and food and exercise, but I gotta wonder, when the type accounts that allowed me to do that are given so much less space than the same old restrictive eating/#nodaysoff garbage (which now borrows trendy language like intuitive eating without backing it up), then, what the fuck? ⠀ ⠀ While I interviewed a range of experts for this installment of the column who had a lot of smart things to say about perception of social media influencers and they things they say, I always wonder if with topics like this Im just super deep in my own head about all thats going on here. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman is dead and a man was rushed to a hospital for treatment Tuesday night after a shooting at the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Pecan Park Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Lt. J.D. Stronko with the Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to the warehouse shortly before 7:30 p.m. He said they found a man and woman, both of whom had been shot. According to Stronko, the woman died at the scene and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown. “I want to emphasize that this does not appear to be any type of active shooter incident,” Stronko said. Stronko could not give specifics about a suspected shooter. (Crisp) Movie Review: GUNJAN SAXENA – THE KARGIL GIRL by FENIL SETA #GunjanSaxena – The Kargil Girl made me hate its producer @karanjohar, not for the silly nepotism reason but because this is a film that should have released in cinemas. It would have been a different experience to experience, in a sold out theatre, the collective laughter in the insanely funny scenes of the first half, to clap and hoot in @janhvikapoor’s heroic entry and of course during the war scenes in the second half. It’s just 112 minutes long but packs in a lot. Throughout the film, a fine balance is maintained – it’s neither too slow, nor too fast. Similarly, while the focus is on telling Gunjan’s story, the entertainment quotient is not compromised and this bit doesn’t go overboard either. Scenes of Gunjan’s terrible experience at the Udhampur base are well-shot but the best is reserved for the father-daughter track! Talking of performances, Janhvi Kapoor owns the film. She has improved a lot from her first film and ensures she doesn’t go over the top even once, even in some very dramatic scenes. Dhadak had given an idea but Gunjan Saxena confirms that she’s here to stay and soar high! @pankajtripathi delivers one of his finest performances. He gets to play a superb part and he essays it with aplomb. His character’s take on equality of sexes, marriage and most importantly, patriotism is clapworthy! @angadbedi and @ayeshiraza are fine. @vineet_ksofficial as always is brilliant. It’s bewildering that his role has been credited as sp appearance. @manavvij is an actor to watch out for. Manish Verma (SSB Officer Sameer Mehra, who trains Gunjan) is memorable. @iamyogendravikramsingh (Pilot Montu), @iamakashdhar (Pilot Shekhar) and @rivarora_ (young Gunjan) also do a fine job. The review will be incomplete without commending the efforts of writers @mehrotranikhil and Sharan Sharma (additional dialogues by @hussain.dalal) and debutant director @sharansharma. All in all, Gunjan Saxena is one of the greatest films of 2020. This Independence Day, do yourself a favour – get your family together and watch this inspiring, clean family flick! Jednak jeśli w ciągu bardzo krótkiego czasu na przesuszoną glebę spada bardzo dużo wody, to gleba nie jest w stanie tej wody przyjąć i woda (zamiast ,,zostawać’’), spływa (,,ucieka’’) do morza➡🌊 Jest też coraz goręcej🌡🔥 (zmiana klimatu), a jako że liczba opadów się nie zwiększa, to wilgotność powietrza spada i woda szybciej paruje - z rzek, bagien i mokradeł. Our program from the fifth issue „When the Hunger starts“ together with our partner issue of @arts_of_the_working_class and the program of the current @berlinartprize. We will spent two more days in the hutongs of Beijing being introduced to the many great project spaces of the city like Arrow Space, @plate_space, Wujin, @aoutospace and more. The workshop program today was held by @qspacebeijing about the necessity of creating safe spaces for queer communities in the city and the vitalization of public spaces. Today we continue our weekly series @hiya.gallery - Culture, highlighting important books, exhibitions, movies and important events concerning street art and graffiti culture. In today’s edition we present you a 2004 documentary “Writers. 20 ans de Graffiti à Paris 1983-2003” (“Writers. 20 years of Graffiti in Paris 1983-2003”). The director of the movie Marc-Aurele Vecchione was a former writer himself, was able to get access and follow the street artist an document the closed world of graffiti writers. Vecchione spent two years speaking to key figures in France, Amsterdam, London & New York. His aim was to reconstruct the history of the French movement from the point of view of crucial eyewitnesses, and persuade these witnesses to talk in front of his camera. “Writers” tells the previously unknown story of graffiti for the first time. The documentary featured many graffiti writers : @original_bando, @mode2official, Jay One, @lokiss.ws, @henrychalfant and others. The documentary was narrated by the French actor @vincentcassel.
