I havent really known how I was going to feel today. All I knew is that I did NOT want to be in London. Knowing how the day was supposed to roll out, eating at me. I know Im not the only person who has gone through this this year, and maybe Im being the biggest baby about it. I think, I just never felt like I would actually get married, that was a thing that happened to other people, too big, too grown up, too traditional, too romantic, all things I never really thought of myself and I think deep down, in my lowest moments of self doubt, I never put myself in that picture because I didnt forsee myself being loved like that. Even when Sam proposed I never truly forsaw it happening, just because it seemed so unimaginable. So with the fact its been pushed back and still isnt 100 percent for next year its horrible how something so gloriously happy now often feels quite sad. Some people have suggested we just court house it but that feels like compromising. We already traded our big ceremony and party in for a smaller event and I dont feel like we should have to keep trading down. Also my dress deserves more lol. Weve had a lovely couple of days of swimming and cocktails (not at the same time, Im not that sad) Ill just pretend this day was never supposed to be anything other than Hermione Grangers birthday and shut up moaning about it which youll all be relieved to hear. - @dailytalie on Instagram

Before my grandmother passed, I collected all of her undeveloped film from around her house dating from 2002-2010. Some of the rolls could not be saved, but the photos that I have been getting back move me. Memories I have forgotten about as a child have been resurfaced by images. Time has softly robbed me from these memories, I’m grateful to be reminded of happy moments in a very dark childhood that I’ve been trying to forget. First photo: my grandmother kissing her boyfriend David. 🕊 Second photo: my brother holding balloons outside one of our old houses. Third photo: Wizards of waverly place birthday party. I was turning 8 or 9 maybe? On the right of me, my godmother and god sister. YOU DON’T HAVE TO ALWAYS BE PRODUCTIVE. That’s a lesson it took me a really long time to grasp. So to all you fellow workaholics who are constantly pushing nonstop: Maybe we can use this time to just BE instead of always having to DO To let our bodies get enough sleep, and our minds get more peace. To enjoy what’s here now, in the present, instead of working towards the future To stop multitasking and instead give our full attention to the present moment. Even for just a little while To realize that sometimes “[self] improvement” comes from just letting things be as they are and observing. Maybe all of this feels like too much advice and you just wanna say “fuck you Katch, all I wanna do is curl up into a little stress ball under the covers and eat cookies and cry.” Then just do that for a while! Give your body and mind what they need. You won’t regret it❤️ I’m writing a series of articles about this and other similar topics about lessons learned. Only a week left until the official first day of fall and I’m feeling nostalgic for a summer that came and went. A summer that never really was. However there is a catch. As their tagline in the ad says, not everyone gets it. Cred club is only for those who have good credit score. The app is basically trying to reward those who have a good credit score, a niche segment. Till it became an official partner of IPL this year, Cred was mostly popular in the high end segment, the segment which uses credit cards frequently. Yet they became the talking point mainly due to its UI. CRED processes $1 billion in monthly credit card bill payments. That is 12.5% of the $8 billion monthly credit card bill payments due in India. This is all within 1.5 years of its launch. IPL is the mega sporting event of India. This 75 day period is the one which no brand wants to lose. I guess CREDs objective by becoming the official partner of IPL & through the series of ads is to create a brand awareness. There is no other platform bigger than IPL to achieve this. All the 3 ads stood out in the sea of ads because of their variety in the casting. They roped in 90s stars to do an audition for CREDs ad. Among the three, Bappi Das ad created more buzz in social media. The message is clear - download CRED, pay your credit card bills & get rewarded. I think CRED is able to create that buzz even if its a negative marketing approach & atleast made people to take a note of this new app to pay their credit card bills. Who dont like getting rewards for paying those hefty bills!?? The campaign is conceptualised by Tanmay Bhatt, Puneet Chadha, Nupur Pai and Devaiah Bopanna and Early Man Films. ik weet niet waar het precies door komt, maar vlieland staat voor mij gelijk aan ontspannen. op de boot voel ik het al, hoe de wind een hoop spanning uit mijn lijf blaast. zomers achtereen kwam ik hier met mijn gezin, althans: een nieuw bijeengeraapt gezin: mijn moeder, haar vriend, zijn zoon en mijn broertje en zusje. het eerste jaar hier ontmoette ik S.: een 5-jaar oudere jongen met een doorzichtige slotjesbeugel en een grote bos goudbruine krullen die meebewogen in de wind. drie weken waren we onafscheidelijk. we luisterden iedere dag dezelfde liedjes op mijn oude MP3-speler (soms moesten we twintig keer skippen voor we bij jewels you were meant for me uitkwamen). ‘s nachts slopen we de krappe voortent binnen, waar mijn moeder en haar vriend sliepen, opzoek naar eten. bij gebrek aan iets beters, lieten we onze vingers verdwijnen in potten nutella en pindakaas. we lagen bij vuurtjes midden op het strand - ook al waren ze verboden en dansten in de regen tot we nat en koud waren en stonden dan samen, onder de ielige straal van de lauwe campingndouche. het jaar voor m’n moeder overleed waren we weer hier. ze was al ziek, maar verborg het nog goed. die moeie glimlach rond haar lippen ging niet weg, maar we gingen wel nog iedere dag samen naar het strand. zwemmen en lopen tegen de wind in en dan buiten adem soms een stiekeme koffie of warme chocomel met z’n tweeën op het terras van de bolder, terwijl ze dat eigenlijk niet kon veroorloven zei ze dan gespeeld streng. een dikke vette knipoog. en zei ik: nouhou mam. doe niet zo overdreven. maar voelde ik me wel altijd heel tevreden en een beetje trots dat ik de uitverkorene was waarmee ze dat dure drankje dronk. en dan sloot ik soms mijn ogen en wilde ik nergens anders zijn dan daar, met mijn zanderige voeten, zoute haren en net iets te weinig kleren om het lijf voor het veranderlijke hollandse klimaat. en dat is nu nog altijd het gevoel dat dit eiland me geeft. - @tatjanaalmuli on Instagram

They talk about life as if it’s meant to be won. Constantly pushing the pursuit of higher accolades as if that’s supposed to be fun. Teach us to stay in line, follow orders, and do what is “right” ... without ever realizing this hinders us from ever taking flight. I used to think life was about thinking, prepping, and planning for a better tomorrow. Yet, as I grow older, that way seems to bring way too much sorrow. Instead, I challenge myself and others to live for today. Possibly pursue a life far far away. Cause when it’s all said and done, you’ll look back and remember not the things you had won. But the memories of the people, places, and experiences you now get to cherish. Snippets of summer days I’m already forgetting… I spent a few months back home in Georgia over the summer while everything in my life was up in the air. These are some pictures from June that didn’t quite turn out, but I figured I’d share some anyway rather than hiding them away on a hard drive forever. They serve as a bit of a visual diary. I remember feeling so trapped and frustrated that my life had come to a standstill, but now I’m actually grateful for that time I had to recharge creatively and just be alone with myself. The last image is most representative of my summer - shirtless and in boots, mosquito-bitten, and crying next to a beautiful creek somewhere lol.
