For sh*ts n giggles but not really. 👧🏽 Thats me, 8 years old in 1989. Next is a still I snapped from my netflix nostalgia moviefest - Clueless in 1995. 6 years & a different decade. But similar outfit? 👧🏽 What Im trying to show is how little & how subtle styling and especially staple clothes we wear regularly, change over time. Sure we went through the high waisted to hig hugger to boot cut to skinny jeans, and Ill be the first to admit I hardly made my jeans last and owned several pairs, & went through several more. I now stick to a pair of skinny, boyfriend 501s & black jeans for work. I have probably owned a total of 20-25 pairs in 25 years. NOT good! 👧🏽 Trends come n go, and then come back. So making informed purchases & not following hot takes is vital. We like to live in the now but we should ask ourselves how will this look on me when my body changes (cuz hell yes it will!), will this fit me when my body changes, can I wear this for work & play & chilling, will this age well enough as I age, can I keep this in good condition so its ready for use when I let it go? 👧🏽 Clothes made 20-30 years ago before fast fashion became the norm were built to last longer with better quality. Given the trend cycle what is vintage from the past could be in now or never really went out, your next new outfit could be the one you already own hidden in the back of your wardrobe, in a friends cupboard waiting for a new owner (like the One Ring), in a thrift or vintage shop or online platform, or upcycled from something we already have. Did you all watch Pretty in Pink when she upcycled the 2 dresses into her prom dress? Think along those lines to get creative. Think about engaging tailors & seamstresses to help bring your vision to life. 👧🏽 We dont need to buy new clothes to keep our style or feel good about ourselves or for fashion. Fast fashion is a global pollution & exploitation issue that also exploits the consumer through duping us on trends n such. Lets step out of it. - @iquitwaste on Instagram

Prep it on the weekend, enjoy all week! 🍒 BLACK FOREST PEANUT BUTTER BARS WITH A CHOCOLATE CHERRY FILLING 🍒 ⠀ Ingredients (makes 16) BASE • 2 cups porridge oats • 1/2 cup runny peanut butter⠀ • 1/3 cup maple syrup⠀ ⠀ FILLING • 2 scoops Free Soul vanilla protein powder • 1 cups runny peanut butter⠀ • 3 tbsp cacao powder⠀ • 2 tsp granulated sweetener or sugar ⠀ • Cherries, stones removed (fresh or frozen) ⠀ CHOCOLATE TOPPING ⠀ • 120g dark chocolate ⠀ • 1 tbsp coconut oil⠀ • 2 tbsp runny peanut butter ⠀ METHOD BASE – Add the porridge oats, peanut butter and maple syrup to a large mixing bowl and mix very well. Transfer to a lined baking dish and place in the freezer. FILLING – Mix all filling ingredients well until no lumps remain. Spread this over the oat base. Scatter cherries on top, press down into the filling and return to the freezer. TOPPING - Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil on a low heat, stirring frequently. Stir in the peanut butter until combined, then pour over the top layer and freeze for 15 minutes before slicing into squares and serving. Unlike a lot of people, I was never quite sure if I wanted to serve a mission. But as I grew older and my testimony progressed, I felt more and more like it was something I needed do. . A year ago today, I entered the MTC to begin that journey. I was eager to get out to Texas. 15 days later, after talking with doctors and counselors for several days, the branch president called me into his office and told me to pack my bags and be ready to go in 45 minutes. Scared, confused, yet relieved, I packed my bags and said goodbye to new friends that I felt I had known my entire life. . I had every intention of going back out and getting to Texas. I met with doctors and counselors for about 4 months, planning on going and testing it out in Texas for 2 transfers (about 3 months), an option that I thought was given to me when I was leaving the MTC. When I finally got my health figured out, I went to start the process of getting out to Texas. At that moment, 4 months later was the first time someone told me that this plan I had to test out the mission life in Texas for a shorter period of time was not actually an option. I was devastated and frustrated. Throughout time, I realized that I accomplished what I was asked to do. Though not how I planned, I had actually fulfilled my mission call. . Here I am, a year later celebrating my 2 week mission. Despite the pain and sadness that coming home has caused me, I am extremely grateful for the time I had serving the Lord, and so many amazing things have come from it. I have a job that I love, I am a pre-nursing student at UVU, I’m moving out in a month, and I have an amazing group of friends. . This past year has been, without a doubt, the most challenging I’ve ever faced, but I’m grateful for it and the way it has forced me to grow. I’m here to tell you that no matter how hard things are, keep going. If God gives you a trial, he WILL help you through it. I promise that He has a plan for each and every one of us, and even though we may not see it, we have to walk forward, trusting that it is there and that things will work out. - @sampsonlaco on Instagram

Comecei como caixa e na sequência logo fui convidada a fazer parte do time comercial. Eu já demonstrava habilidades para vender mesmo na correria de filas longas de clientes para o caixa. Dava um jeito e usava a criatividade! Eu amava ser caixa, atender os clientes e zerar a fila♥️ Entre 2008/2009 eu me tornei Gerente. Aos 23 anos eu já tinha uma carteira de clientes gigantesca e metas altas para cumprir. Deu medo? MUITO. Mas, como tudo na vida me dediquei muito! Já tive assistentes com o dobro da minha idade e precisei de muita desenvoltura para lidar com a equipe. Não foi fácil, errei muito mas aprendi muito tbm. Gerente PF, Gerente PJ, Gerente Uniclass... meu ciclo se encerrou em 2013. Na vida precisamos aprender a encerrar ciclos com a mesma sabedoria que iniciamos. Sinto uma gratidão imensa! Muito aprendizado e várias lições. Hoje olho para trás e tenho vontade de dizer para aquela Dea de 13 anos atrás: SEGUE FIRME, vc tá no caminho certo! Tenho muito orgulho de vc! ♥️ Ah esta é a única foto que eu tenho, na época eu não tirava muitas. Rede social que mais bombava era Orkut [ 2004 à 2014].
