Today marks the 5 year anniversary of Au De La. Our first record released by thee almighty Southern Lord Records. If it wasn’t for Greg Anderson taking the time to not only listen but to actually release the record, we can positively say we wouldn’t have accomplished a fraction of what we have as a band in the last 5 years. His undying support, his energy and positive enthusiasm, his big heart, warmth, down to earth nature and more importantly, his consistent thoughtfulness and care in looking out for us, has made the journey to date. We are eternally grateful for your endless support and it’s an honour to now consider you a dear dear good friend. We love you Greg. Guy Pinhas who heads Southern Lord Europe was emidiatelty on board and supportive from day one. Guy, who has had our backs from the get-go, who constantly looks out and after us, houses us, big hearted and considerate and generous Guy - we’re proud to call you family. Although the future seems dishearteningly precarious, we’d like to hope that we can keep working together for many years to come. Our deepest sincerest gratitude also goes to Efrim Manuck who recorded this album. His belief and respect and support for us has no bounds. We owe *e v e r y t h i n g* to him. If it were not for him generously taking us silly-hope filled-eager to work kids under his wings, we would not have even had a second glance by those that have supported us in the following years; we would not have had such a rich life with all the friends made and touring and travelling we’ve been privileged to have done. We are eternally grateful. @southernlordrecords @southernlordrecordingseurope @efrimmanuelmenuck - @big_brave_ on Instagram

Up, up & away! The Saturn 1B streaks across the sky at 35,000 feet after liftoff of Apollo 7, Oct 1968. The 10-day, 20 hour mission was flown by Walter Cunningham, Don Eisele & Wally Schirra. The mission was the only crewed flight from Launch Complex 34 & would be the last spaceflight to lift off from that spot also. Backup crew for the mission was John Young, Gene Cernan & Tom Stafford; this trio would later go on to fly Apollo 10 in March 1969. #saturn1b #apollo7 #nasa #1968 #aerospace #rocketry #spaceflight #nasasocial #astronauts #spacetravel #1960s #nasa🚀 #spaceexploration #saturnvrocket #vintagespace #astronaut #apolloprogram #spaceprogram #projectapollo #spaceexplorer #saturnrocket #spacerace #spaceage - @astronotmovie on Instagram

I have faltered, tangling myself in my own failings. I am set against a despair that I have drawn upon the fevered sands, scorching the bounty that once thrived here. The smoke I exhaled in error has blacked out the sun, leaving me to exist in a shadow of remorse. I am suffocating under the weight I bear, and I cannot acquire redemption here, I am to mask myself behind a bitter ash that seeks to erase me. _Zewar #film #filmphotography #fineartphotography #monochromatic #monochrome #bnw_society #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography #bnw_planet #bnw_portrait #bnwphotography #bnw_artstyle #conceptart #conceptualart #sulaimaniyah #photography #photoshop #bnw_globe #fineart #bnw_madrid #bnw_captures #darkart #bnw_europe #katatonia #photomanipulation #polishgirl #bnw_europe #contemporaryart #poland - @zewar.f on Instagram

Comet has its own aurora ☀️☄️🛰 ⠀⠀⠀ Our Rosetta mission has revealed a unique kind of aurora, an exciting phenomenon seen throughout the Solar System, at its target comet, Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. ⠀⠀⠀ At Earth, auroras form as charged particles from the Sun interact with our planet’s magnetic field to create shimmering displays of colour and light in the high-latitude sky. While these light displays have been seen at various planets and moons in the Solar System, and around a more distant star, observations from our comet-chasing Rosetta mission now reveal unique auroral emissions at the spacecraft’s target comet: 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (67P/C-G). ⠀⠀⠀ These emissions are created as charged particles stream towards the comet from the Sun – a flow known as the solar wind – and interact with the gas surrounding the comet’s icy, dusty nucleus. ⠀⠀⠀ These processes define how the envelope of gas (or coma) around 67P/C-G becomes excited – that is, made to glow – and how the particles causing this excitation are given a boost of energy and sped up. 67P/C-Gs aurora shows up in ultraviolet light, as seen in martian auroras detected by our Mars Express (although the ‘colours of the auroras at 67P/C-G and Mars differ). ⠀⠀⠀ The ultraviolet emissions Rosetta observed at comet 67P/C-G have shown up before, and were thought to be ‘dayglow’, a process caused by solar light particles (photons) interacting with cometary gas. However, this study shows that these emissions are aurora instead: they are driven not by photons, but by electrons in the solar wind that have been accelerated in the comet’s nearby environment. ⠀⠀⠀ Exploring the emission at 67P/C-G will enable scientists to assess how the particles comprising the solar wind change over time, something that is crucial for understanding space weather throughout the Solar System. ⠀⠀⠀ Go to esa.int to learn more. Today @franziskadrummond is sharing the story of this image from her perspective as a model The image, from my perspective, captures perfect stillness and tranquility. Somehow, in the midst of trash discarded in the water, debris of dead leaves and tree branches, we captured a moment of complete calm. “Shihan” Ninjaranger is the combination of two words ( Ninja, Ranger ) and it represents someone who gains special skills in all sports activities. This style has been founded by ” Kancho. Firouz Khanjari” in 2003. In martial arts, we call the Ninjarangers who claim 5th Dan of Black Belt or higher and are aged over 35 ” The Shihan “. They have to practice and endeavor for at least 16 years to earn the “Shihan” title. The only Iranian woman Ninaranger who has earned the “Shihan” title is “Ms. Tina Roshan Nia”. Not only the hard physical practice methods make these women confident, passionate, and competitive spirit; But it’s the mental effect of this exercise on their spirits and personalities. By: @tahura_lali / Podium Mentor Program . . . . #ninjaranger #shihan #ninja #iranninja #iranianninja #iranianninjawomen #sportsphotography #reportagespotlight #نینجارنجر #نینجارنجربانوان #نینجا_ایران #شیهان #شیهان_تینا_روشن_نیا - @podiumphotos on Instagram

#arqueología #colecciones #muarse #archivofotográficomuarse #Andacollo #Inka #Chile #archaeology #museo #LaSerena #museum #Elqui #Limarí #terrazas #inca - @muarse on Instagram
