Hello everyone! We’d like to provide you with an update on what’s happening with our tasting cafe on Clark Drive. After much, MUCH thought, we have decided not to reopen it. As some of you may know, we’ve been working on a new space where we can expand our production facility, and we are getting very close 🙌🏽. It’s only a couple of blocks from where we currently are and we’re stoked to be able to stay in the neighbourhood. We’re in the final stages of getting permits from the City and we’ll start renovations and getting everything set up for our move in the next few months. This is what we’ll be focusing on now, while keeping up with our wholesale and online orders, which have been over the roof— thank you all for your support! We loved welcoming you to the cafe over the last four years and we have oh, so many amazing memories there. We hope we will be able to create a space in the new location where we can continue to drink and talk coffee with you, host bigger events and continue to foster this incredible community we’ve always had around Agro. We also wanted to thank all the bad-ass baristas and genuinely good people that we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and work with at the cafe over the years. Finally, for those of you who prefer to pick up your retail bags at the roastery instead of having them delivered, we’ll start offering that very soon. More details coming in the coming days! Change is inevitable, both external and internal. I haven’t been on my personal account lately as I’ve been focusing on @rainbowvomitdallas, and as our brand has grown I have felt the shift of my own as well. That is why I have officially adopted a new online moniker, fully embracing all that goes with being Rainbow Rob. It feels appropriate, as I have evolved to feel more connected to all of reality and less attached to the digital world. Today we had the pleasure to meet our customer that was saved by God’s grace with a little help from our jacket. Thank you for all of the positive thought and sentiments. I thought I would take the time to explain what happened. After roughly 1,500 miles of riding some of the most beautiful roads the USA has to offer, I had to start making moves to go home. “Riding the Tail of the Dragon” was a bucket list trip. I was looking forward to seeing Cyndie and the kids. When I left Deal’s Gap it started pouring rain. I cautiously rode about 50 miles of “ the Moonshiner 28” route in heavy winds and rain through twisty roads covered with water and leaves. The riding wasn’t bad because I was getting into the groove of my slow and sensible pace. Other than being soaked to the skin I was in good spirits. That is when I made the decision to bag the last leg oft the trip and head to MB. My gas light indicator switched on in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I stopped for food and gas. I decided for safety sake to have a sit down meal. I figured having a full stomach would keep me alert and the roads would dry up completely. This turned out to be a sensible move and when I finished dinner, everything appeared to be dry and wind free. Just before I headed on the highway I stopped to make sure my helmet strap was snug, and the rest of my bags and gear were in order. I put on my mellow mix on my iPhone, which was linked into my helmet and settled in for a straight long ride to MB. I was motivated and anxious to see everyone. However, because I was out at night in the country I maintained a sensible speed of 65 mph. When I ride at night, my right eye is scanning the shoulder for wildlife, and my left eye focuses on the road and rearview mirror. I saw no traffic behind me except for a single tractor-trailer truck about a half mile behind me. I put my attention with both eyes ahead of me on the road. This was the last ride detail I remember. This art collective has opened me and Rajan to do and learn things that were once so foreign. Dontdoze art co has allowed us to produce music records, make films, design gallery spaces, curate art, host art parties, release an apparel line, and launch multiple sound production and podcast studios. I’ve happily been able to artifact my expression thru painting, taking photos, and creating digital art. Most important and lasting from all this is the number of remarkable people we’ve met over 5 years. We’ve made life long friendships and that’s what we’re most proud of and hold close. Week 1 I spent a mighty £2.95 on the ‘AZ Handy Map EDINBURGH’ and set about running #everystreet with her cycling - inspired by @rickeygates chat on the @richroll podcast. 814km / 506 miles later we have finished the map - like a massive city-sized puzzle, trying to figure out the most efficient way to run/cycle each area. And seeing sides of my home city that I never knew about. The streets have certainly gotten a lot busier over the 67 days, however Harriets confidence on the bike, awareness and safety has also improved, covering an average 12km a day. In a period that’s been very tough for work - no events, travel and filming - this has been an amazing silver lining. It has grown into a wonderful little business and I feel so proud and grateful. 🌿This picture sums up the reason it takes me an age to make even a small batch of work. I always want to find balance between ceramics and family so I will never be able to make huge amounts of stock. I know some people have been frustrated that they didnt get the pieces they wanted online, but hopefully it makes it even more special when you do get to make a purchase. @steepandfilter @jodenison LOCKDOWN PROJECT Dally and Michael originally set up Steep and Filter as a vegan café and a refill store for dried goods, selling pulses, nuts, seeds, grains, Eco toiletries and cleaning products. When Covid hit, they realized the grain store alone wouldn’t be enough to keep the shop open. Reacting to demand they started picking up surplus veg from the restaurant trade, sacks of flour and yeast, quickly turning Steep and Filter into a small green grocer. They also supply veg boxes ordered over the phone, customers don’t even need to get out of their car, they just drive by and pop the boot. Michael and Dally find that their customers often end up having long chats whilst shopping, there is a lovely peacefulness about Steep and Filter and Dally is a good listener. Der Kameramann und Fotograf abstrahierte dazu 90 von ihm aufgenommene Portraits von Menschen die ihm begegnet waren und brachte diese mit Acryl auf Leinwand. Diese bot er zum Verkauf an, und obwohl er malerisch vorher nicht aktiv war, wurde die Aktion direkt ein großer Erfolg. Über 6.000 Euro wurden so erzielt, die jeweils zur Hälfte an die Arche sowie die Tafel in Heiligenhafen gespendet wurden. Sein Freund, Nachbar und Helfer, Karsten Prumbs aus Großenbrode, erhöhte die Spende für die Arche zusätzlich um 1.000 Euro, sodass sie nun in Berlin beide gemeinsam über 4.000 Euro an Arche-Gründer Bernd Siggelkow und die Kinder übergeben konnten. I know that 2020 has been a tough year for everybody - particularly kids. That’s why the Andrews Government will keep sessional kinder free for most families in Term 4, with $26.7 million in extra funding. Community-based, local government and school providers offering sessional programs will be eligible for about $500 per enrolment to provide children with access to a free 15-hour program each week. And we know that this year has been tougher for some kids than others. We hosted our awards ceremony last night for 18 months of Local leagues and our 19/20 SFL campaign. Was a lovely night, with so many people to thank: We were fortunate enough to be joined by a few of our sponsors so I will take the opportunity to thank all of them, @character_cabinets, @alwayssolar.au, @wasealers and also @vanderconstruction, @treeswestptyltd & Perfection Floors. The club cant thank you guys enough for the financial support we received in our inaugural year! Continued our relationship with Classic Trophies. Most of my self-portraits are not autobiographical. Although it is clearly myself that I paint (they wouldn ’t be called self-portraits otherwise) I actually impersonate a character, I play a role: the role of a painter trying to paint himself under very awkward circumstances. Thats why in those paintings, the hand that holds the brush -the depiction of the act of painting- is crucial, maybe even more important than the face. Of course, since I really am a painter who paints himself, things get tangled up: where does the autobiography end and where does the role begin? I guess it’ s like when in a movie an actor is playing an actor; or, even more so, when an actor is impersonating himself.
