My mum helped prepare the lau ti & I made 13 lei yesterday as part of our @350pacificbrisbane event for invited guests who were Indigenous. Forgot to take pics. It took hours but was meditative. Prez taught me how to make a type of lei that is also used traditionally as rope. Lau ti has medicinal properties & is sacred to Polynesians. Last night we had a special event at Umu Kitchen w/ young community organisers to talanoaga - I hope people felt nourished to continue to create change during COVID to see a #JustRecovery 🌱 I got to take a piece of Prez with me to this event through the lei. Amazing opportunity for local NEET young people interested in sports! @nlpsports introduce their youth employability trainee football coach program they are currently running. Their program offers pathways in sports via two avenues, football coaching, and football scouting. Their program is funded so there will be no cost to participants, and they are seeking a number of young beneficiaries from various boroughs including Redbridge, Newham, and Waltham Forest. This is an entry-level CPD accredited football coaching qualification which can also be held alongside conventional courses such as the FA level 1 and 2. There is no minimum qualification required to be eligible to apply for this program and outcomes and results are delivered after a minimum of 48 hours assessment. Eight months ago I was fed up with my body and decided to take a leap into understanding nutrition better. I was looking for answers to help unlock my weightloss struggles. I’ve been on a health journey since I had my last baby 6 years ago. It took me 5 years of exercise and dieting consistency to lose only 25 lbs. Frustrating to say the least, when everyone around you is making huge leaps, and I’m barely breaking the starting line. I participated in a boot camp style class 4 days a week, upped my day to day activity and ate healthy foods. I was borderline obsessed and mentally exhausted. Thru this struggle, I’m grateful I found a love for exercise, and have established a healthy habit in that area. Nutrition is where I felt I needed to focus to figure out ME. At this point in time, I’m not where I want to be but I’m getting there. One day at a time, and learning everyone doesn’t fit into the same box has been a huge relief. It’s not just eat less and move more. I’m so thankful for this course and it’s insight it has brought me. Throwback to us preparing for our first market. That was over four years ago and we really didnt know what we were doing. Katalog berukuran 24 x 20 cm ini memuat tiga pengantar dan sebuah esai kuratorial Jim Supangkat sepanjang 14 halaman—seluruhnya dalam Bahasa Inggris. Esai Supangkat tidak sekadar meriwayatkan hidup dan kekaryaan Sadali. Di situ terbaca jelas upaya untuk menegaskan posisi penting Sadali dalam narasi sejarah seni rupa Indonesia. Seraya menggambarkan Sadali sebagai seorang modernis yang menolak kategori kebangsaan dalam dunia gagasan artistik, Supangkat juga menggarisbawahi kesadaran Sadali tentang kultur kemodernan Indonesia yang pada akhirnya melahirkan seni rupa bercorak khas. Ahmad Sadali adalah salah satu pelukis yang belajar di bawah bimbingan langsung pelukis Belanda Ries Mulder dan Simon Admiraal di ITB (1948-1953). Pada 1956-1957, ia mendapatkan kesempatan untuk belajar di Amerika Serikat, dan melawat ke beberapa negara di Eropa, Timur Tengah dan Jepang. Sebagian besar hidupnya ia habiskan di Bandung. Selain melukis dan berpameran, ia aktif di almamaternya sebagai pengajar, bahkan pernah menjabat sebagai wakil rektor pada 1967-1976. Sadali adalah salah satu pelukis yang merintis perkembangan seni abstrak di Indonesia sejak awal 1960-an. Sebagian besar karyanya memperlihatkan kekuatan pengolahan bentuk, warna, garis dan tekstur. In a summer when people flew and gathered - some lucky guests were mailed this Save The Date destination wedding package. A double-sided postcard on a linen-textured cardstock set the scene and a custom luggage tag set the tone. Travelers were in for a LUXE weekend. To keep things sleek and orderly, a mini enclosure linked guests to their website - filled with travel info. The cards were boxed and parcels were wrapped in brown paper, sealed, labeled then stamped with custom rubber logos. The commissioning bride is an expert in the industry so when she asked US to handle this, we were flattered (then nervous) then so IN. As Eat Out to Help Out comes to an official end (although living-on in spirit in some great establishments), we took the opportunity to eat in for a change and ordered from a new local caterer. The Fosse Kitchen (@thefossekitchen) has been created by Maisie from her home in Chedworth. Maisie kindly delivered our food directly to our door and it was a delight to meet her. Moving back from London, Maisie has started The Fosse Kitchen to pursue her dream of catering with fantastic local produce to small events, with parties and business lunches of up to 30 people both catered for. We had a great selection to get through that includes gazpacho, potted crab, burrata and heirloom tomatoes, chard, courgette and chorizo salad, Sri Lankan Monkfish curry and a chocolate brownie. We were amazed at how great the food was considering it had to come over from Chedworth to our food bunker in Cheltenham. The gazpacho was full of flavour and beautifully light, the potted crab came with sourdough toast and they were amazing together. Burrata and heirloom tomatoes (with pinenuts and basil) are one of my favourite things in the world and this was one of the best. It was delicious with a good range of tomatoes, a huge chunk of burrata and a good amount of seasoning. When cooking chard at home weve found it to be quite salty but Maisie really did it justice. It had a good crunch but wasnt salty (I obviously did something wrong) and the courgette ribbons and flakes of chorizo really elevated the dish to a level I wasnt expecting. The Sri Lankan monkfish with coconut rice was another fantastic dish too. There were pomegranate seeds to give a pop of freshness and crispy bits of coconut to give texture. We put the brownie in the oven for a few minutes to warm it through. It was sticky, chocolatey and rich - just what you want (and need) after a great five-course meal. If you need private catering at an event for up to 30 people, we would recommend Maisie and her team as the food was fantastic and she was lovely. During my years as an early childhood educator, one experience that would have the children excitedly begging for their turn was when we would set up our Perspex easels. Bringing a whole new perspective to the language of paint, their sturdy frames and generous height allows little ones to stand and move with their whole bodies as they create, and also provides the opportunity for painting in partnership with a friend on the opposite side! Before my wedding in 2003, my dear friend @moonfrye gave me this lovely box with a poem inside about a couple who put a dollar in a box every time they made love and at their 50th wedding anniversary they had thousands of dollars to go travel the world together. I haven’t been great in the past few years about keeping up with the deposits but I still love this idea and digging thru to see all the currencies from places we have already been lucky enough to travel to all around the world. Yesterday, it happened - I’m officially a PMP. My summer was spent studying for 2 hrs every day (triple that on weekends), taking 1,000’s of practice questions, reading & re-reading material, having almost no social life, balancing my work responsibilities, missing out on time with friends/family, maintaining discipline, staying focused, and never giving up. The journey was not easy, I stumbled, I had setbacks, I was constantly frustrated, but I never stopped working hard, and I’m so relieved it paid off. Clicking ‘submit’ after my 4-hour exam (waiting 10 seconds for my result) and seeing those 4 beautiful letters [PASS] was the greatest rush of my summer 💯. Had to say goodbye to my sweet baby girl today - @MissEllieMcCoy. Knew it was coming. Planned for it coming. And, yet still in utter disbelief she is gone. So grateful to be able to be her loving, doting mama for 16 + years. I am the luckiest. I don’t yet have all the words for myself for a proper tribute for my best friend and “dogter,” but my sweet friend, Dana Calvo, said it with a floral delivery as beautifully as I can right now.
