Life has been really hard for everyone lately. I needed to heal my soul after so much has changed in my life, and I decided I would do that by living a childhood dream of mine of driving into the Arctic on one of the most remote and dangerous roads in the world... alone. No cell service, one gas station, one town, and complete emptiness. I drove 550 miles on the Dalton Highway, also known as the loneliest road in the world, 1,893 miles through Alaska’s wilderness with ice, sleet, snow, rain, wind, mud, dirt, gravel, rocks, cliffs, and wildlife. It was a life changing experience that I wouldn’t have wanted to do with anyone else more than myself. I learned to love myself more, I learned true independence, I learned true strength, and I learned that I can rely on myself during the most difficult times I may face in life. McKay Lake Nature Park ... I posted last week about a fun nature-themed playground we visited. Well, there are nature-themed playgrounds and then there are NATURE playgrounds and McKay Lake Park is definitely one that should be on every nature-loving kid’s list! ... This playground has all the things you’d expect- climbing obstacles, slides, tunnels, swings, and bridges- but it’s all built out of natural elements! Our kids were super obsessed with being prairie dogs in “tunnel land” and kept running from there, to the slides built on the side of the hills, to the “beaver dam” climbing structure, to the rope bridges, to the boulders, to the log steps built into the side of the hill, to the sand pit. There’s a fitness loop if you’d like to get a little exercise in, a small pump track for little bike riders a larger bike park for more advanced riders, and a loop trail around the lake (1.6 miles) with a little dock to walk on. ... We love checking out all these great play areas! I wish we lived closer to this one! ... 📍McKay Lake Nature Park Restrooms ✅ Stroller friendly ✅ (yes but moving it around the playground is annoying because the area is so large and the kids don’t stay in one area for long!) Hi everyone, So we are all back at last to some resemblance of normality here at Bibado ( fingers crossed it stays that way!). My daughters went back to school in September (as did all children in the UK). It is amazing how much time there is between 8.30 and and 3.30 pm!! My house has not looked this tidy in over 6 months and at last I have stopped hurting my feet on lego and various other small toys scattered around the house!!!! We were really nervous about our daughters returning to school, mainly due to time that has passed between them physically being in school and the separation anxiety that the girls much experience. However, it has been a big success and that is in no small part due to the awesome preparation and commitment show by their teachers. When I asked Eve what she missed about being at home she said “well..….ummm my toys…. oh and you a little bit mummy but not really, school was great!” I have to take that a massive win ( and a huge relief) even though my heart broke a teeny bit !!! I have moved into my new office (which is because we have a new a high speed internet connection upstairs in our house, so I can now sit at a desktop on a comfy chair!) Living in a rural village in the UK is beautiful but we are a long way off high speed broadband here and it has been a bit of a struggle to keep connected. This September we have a lot going on here in BiBAHQ. As a digital and remote working based business we are used to digital communications but we have been working on improving these especially, as more regular meet ups seem to be off the cards for the time being. We also have some very exciting things in the pipeline which I literally cannot wait to share with you! I am the worst secret keeper ever, so it is really hard to keep these under wraps but it is not too much longer to wait until we have something we can finally share with you all. Love bringing my kids to projects (especially on Saturday) so they can see what I do, but more importantly, they can see what great work ethic my team has and how well everyone works together. Our newest Adventure is a 5000 Square Foot Warehouse for the Expansion and growth of the Social Webb Brands (HYPD & DYMND). This VERY large space will allow us to continue to grow and focus on high volume/high scale commercial growth with our exclusive Brick & Mortar locations. We are fortunate to have over 1500 Square Feet of Office space inside the Warehouse for us to Set up and expand areas Marketing, Graphic Design, and Training Content for ourselves and for our customer base. Del Mar Foundation approves $180,820 donation to support our community. The current Covid-19 pandemic has had devastating impacts on our country, state, county and city. Since March, we have increased our support of various Del Mar-based organizations to help mitigate the effect of this crisis. The Foundation’s Board of Directors has now approved a $180,820 donation to be made to the City, which will restore funding for budget items important to our community, connected to the Foundation’s mission, that the City had to cut from its budget because of the crisis. We hope that this funding will benefit our community as we work together to overcome the challenges Covid-19 presents to our individual and collective health and safety, and our community’s well-being. UPDATE ON EHS RELAUNCH PLAN With Alberta now in stage one of the relaunch plan, we wanted to provide an update on when you can expect EHS to relaunch more of our programs and services. During this time, it is vital that we continue to keep our staff healthy so that we can be here for the animals. This is why we will be taking a thoughtful and measured approach to our staged relaunch, with staff health and safety, animal welfare, and community health guiding every decision. Our relaunch stages will be coordinated in line with the Government of Alberta’s strategy, and you can expect to see changes in our programs and services beginning approximately two weeks after each new provincial stage is reached. This will give us the necessary time to ensure we have the staffing, equipment, policies, procedures and training in place to optimally serve both people and pets while adhering to our guiding principles. This means we will be entering our own stage one for the beginning of June. This will include re-opening our adoptions through a modified, appointment-based process and launching other services virtually. We will continue to limit the access to our shelter, again in an effort to keep our staff and the community healthy. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we move through these stages with care so that we can ensure we remain here for the animals. Your support makes our work possible, and it will be more important than ever as the lasting impacts of COVID-19 on people and pets are realized. My computer thinks I am a woman. I found it quite a long time ago but it was mostly just a funny topic for a small-talk between friends. How Ive recognized this about my computer? And yes, they produce swimming suits only for women. I was never hiding my identity and I decided to say yes to collaboration to check how the algorithm really sees me. So on January 22, I became Bright Ambassador with a nickname Bright_Woman. I was recommended to have a Bora-Bora bikini or Scarlet Cora One Piece. I decided to start with Scarlet. I received a welcome email from CEO (obviously automatic), the possibility to share 15% discount with my friends (let me know if you need one) and of course a package with a swimming suit - welcome to the connection of on-line and off-line world. Indeed, I know this is the way how brands trying to sell their products - all of us know it - but there is also the way how machine see us. So what it may see? I am 82 kg which probably means a plus-size (foк the average height) woman, which sometimes reading feminist texts, with 10K followers at Instagram. Probably, I suit for this advertising. Is it all true? I got the message during the winter. If my computer knows me at least a little bit, it should know I never even go to the beach vacation. Ive probably gone to the proper vacation when you really need a swimming suit and you consciously go to the beach maxim two times in my life. Every day millions of litres of water are pumped through Council’s supply network to homes in the Armidale region. Residents use this water in their homes for cooking, washing, cleaning, showering and flushing the toilet. It is one of the essential services Council provides to the community and has continued uninterrupted throughout the COVID-19 closure period. Jake Barton is Council’s Team Leader of Regional Services – Water and Sewer and is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing all water and sewer infrastructure. In his five years with the organisation, he has relished the variety of work and problem solving his role involves. Jake is pictured here trying to discover the sources of a water leak. Initial test results indicated the water came from the town water supply. However, further investigations and testing by Jake revealed it was actually ground water. He says hes thankful for the career opportunities available in the Local Government sector, the mateship gained and the friendly team environment. I made a post a couple weeks back about how I’ve hopped back into takin photos, but here’s another just saying holy crap how much fun it is. I can’t believe I get to actually do this for a partial living right now, and can even envision moving full time at some point. It’s legitimately my favorite. • I was thinking about it, how it’s kind of become an obsession recently, and how I had essentially made an idol out of it. I would choose podcasts on photography business practices or videos on lenses over a sermon podcast, or time spent reading my bible, and was taken aback. As fun as it is, I didn’t want it if I couldn’t offer it up as a sacrifice to God. • So I prayed to use it as a ministry tool, in addition to just filling my cup up with. And GEEZ has God taken me up on that. Put me in situations where I get to choose to love others, grow in my theology, serve others, build relationships, and honor Him. • Just so stoked.
