I struggle some days. I wake up and reach for the scrubs in an attempt to hide the ice cream I ate the night before. I choose a salad at work only to panic at all of the pages I’m receiving on my phone. Stat. Critical lab - k of 3.2. ⠀ ⠀ In an attempt to calm myself I pick up the cookies and an energy drink. Gotta get ready for the influx of new patients. By the time I’ve made it home the thought of doing anything other than sitting on the couch is daunting. If I close my eyes just a moment.... No. I have notes to write.⠀ ⠀ The cycle seems to never end. I swear I never signed up for this. This is a transition period, I am told. Someone somewhere is tracking the numbers, but the players never change. I have to change. ⠀ ⠀ I have to be the one to change. 2 years in, am I really still just a baby attending? Ultimately I control how my day goes and how I respond to stress. Everyday I get a little bit better at that. I’m not perfect, but after 2 years of experience, I realize now the importance of self care. ⠀ ⠀ Yes. That buzz phrase. I may not have time for a retreat or the money yet to go to a tropical resort. Caring for myself can look like an evening workout in my living room, a healthy smoothie instead of dessert, and checking into my support group online. We all need support sometimes, and these ladies know how to encourage me daily. ⠀ ⠀ In the end I have changed. Transitions ebb and flow, weaving into each other. - For anyone who was interested in the excess skin from my last posting on here, it’s definitely there but not as bad as I anticipated when I started the process years ago. I’m sure age comes into play but for anyone fearful of it I’ve used African Shea Butter to assist with the skin tightness.

- Wanted to give an update on the Shea moisture curl smoothie as I’m now enjoying the results. Applied to dripping wet hair, then added Pantene curling gel. I plopped with a T for 10 minutes then air dry and scrunched the crunch out when dry.I actually really like the smoothie when used with gel.

- Sheamoisture curl enhancing smoothie. Tried it for the first time. Just added it right after shower to wet hair. It made my locks super soft and flows quite a bit but didnt hold my waves much. Dont think I will be buying the big tub anytime soon but Ill finish the travel bottle I bought.
- I picked up a bottle of TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier. It’s not completely CG compliant but I was able to get second day hair out of it.
- I love this stuff!! Miss Jessie’s MultiCultural Curls. So far the silicones in it haven’t affected my hair. I just apply this to damp hair and air dry. :)

- My hair has loved the CG method since I began a few months ago. I find that I don’t need to use as much product anymore to keep it well defined. Just used a nickel size of SM curl smoothie and nickel size of Pantene curl gel.
