I wanted to add a magically ghoulish touch to our Fall decor and decided to craft a whole Mickey ghost gang, then strung them on a garland, and I’m OB. SESSED with how it turned out! 💜🧡💚 I was inspired by @coffee.and.pixiedust mini Mickey Ghost pillow that she made last Halloween, and used her template and instructions. {peep her Crafts highlight for more details} This craft was super simple and super inexpensive. Cheap and easy...just how I like things! I’m a big fan of oversized shirts because 1) they’re super comfy duh and 2) there’s so many ways to make them look fashionable 💅 . I threw this @hottopic tee over some biker shirts and tied my jean jacket around it to give it a belted look. The round neck still wasn’t doing it for me so I put a pair of sunglasses to pull it down into a v-neck . . The gangs all here ❤️ Long sappy post coming up but some of you saw that my local Disney store is closing permanently and today is officially their last day. Ill miss the 90s fixtures the most and hope with all my heart they will be saved and kept safe somewhere. I would have bought them if I could! They were all the same from when I was still a child holding my dads hand walking through the store. Even this stuffed toy display was the same so I knew I wanted to remember it with a picture 😭 And since I grew up with this store just like Andy did with his toys, I felt it was fitting to add the toy story fam to this photo & bring back this quote & just replace his feelings for Woody with my feelings for this Disney store 💔 Now Woody, hes been my pal for as long as I can remember. Hes brave, like a cowboy should be. And kind, and smart. But the thing that makes Woody special, is hell never give up on you... ever. Hell be there for you, no matter what. I felt like it was fitting to say goodbye to this way, and even the cast members loved that I took the time to take pictures of everything the last time I was there. 𝘼𝙝𝙝𝙝 𝙮𝙚𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙚⠀ ⠀ I’m breaking the rules a little bit for the last day of #boundtoberoyalty where we’re celebrating the princesses who embody our hopes for the future. My dream is that we get more plus sized princesses, and since none of the Disney girls fit that bill I decided to celebrate one who does. ⠀ ⠀ Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs is a movie a lot of you probably haven’t heard of, and if you have it is most likely because of the media uproar in 2017 about the fat phobia present in their marketing. It turns out the movie isn’t fatphobic at all (actually the opposite), they just hired a really bad advertising team who created promo without any context for the actual plot 🙄. I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago and was so happy with it. ⠀ ⠀ At its heart, Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs is about a fat princess who wears magical shoes that make her thin because she realizes no one will help her find her missing father unless she’s pretty. Snow White does not prefer this thin version of herself and it is repeatedly stated and shown how she prefers being fat! The entire movie is about how beauty is found within and it showcases people on opposing sides, struggling with the concept and growing from each other. I’m not gonna discuss any more of the actual plot because spoilers, but do know at the end Snow White is fat *and* gets the guy. ⠀ ⠀ While I would love to see a movie with a plus size heroine who doesn’t spend the majority of the screen time being thin and conventionally pretty, this movie gave me a lot of hope for the future. I would give anything to one day see my size represented in a Disney princess who saves the world and finds love. I’ll just be pretending I’m in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle until our happy place is safe again🥺 . I know right now is mentally and emotionally challenging for so many people and social media can add to that. As content creators, sure it’d be nice to get sponsored and paid but the main reason you’re doing it is because you love it, right? You have fun taking photos, planning outfits, talking about your interests/what makes you happy and engaging with other people. But once you start feeling like you need to do something instead of doing it because you want to is when you start to resent it. When you feel like you need to “keep up” with others. If you don’t feel like putting anything out then don’t. You want to take a break? Do it. You can take lots of little breaks or a long one. Do things at your own pace. You don’t owe anyone anything. But you do owe yourself your mental/emotional health. And guess what? This community and the friendships you’ve made will still be here no matter how often you post or not. We’re human :) Everyone understands. A iniciativa de baixar o preço dos bilhetes para os jovens foi de todo um elemento fundamental para está semana o Instagram não ser outra coisa se não fotos das lontras e vídeos das alforrecas. Fingimos todos que nos importamos com o mar e a vida marinha naquelas duas horas lá dentro, mas hey o que interessa é deixar o post no Instagram. Mais grave é o jornalixo preferir continuar a falar sobre a vinda do Cavani para o Benfica, em vez de sensibilizar para estes problemas, porque mais dia menos dia o mar como o conhecemos seguirá exatamente a mesma história do Cavani com o Benfica. Magic Kingdom is much more spread out compared to @disneyland though . While it’s not “my castle” I have to say the new paint job is incredible. Cinderella’s castle is pretty epic. • The Cape Cod here is incredibly cute and detailed (just like the rest of the park!)⠀ _________⠀ Some things that I did not realize until later: (I DID ZERO PRIOR RESEARCH, YES I HATE MYSELF TOO.)⠀ • The Broadway Theatre is an actual theater with a cool show! You have to get a free ticket to the show via a lottery system. ⠀ • There’s a Toy Story Mania that I think is similar to ours but has a GIANT WOODY HEAD that you walk through his mouth?!?! I literally missed the entire area in the park and feel dumb!!⠀ • There’s also a Turtle Talk with Crush, in Japanese, even though I thought Crush was in Australia and not the American Waterfront lol⠀ • This giant S.S. Columbia boat! Nuestro primer viaje juntos. Parte 2. Hoy vamos a contarles sobre nuestras vivencias y recuerdos en Epcot, Animal Kingdom y Hollywood Studios. No como el relato anterior, sino un resumen de cosas aprendidas y una que otra anécdota. 💚Animal Kingdom: el parque favorito de la familia. Ese día, no sé por qué, estábamos hambrientos y descubrimos uno de nuestros restaurantes preferidos: Restaurantosaurus. Las hamburguesas estaban buenísimas!!! Ese día también descubrimos que los mejores safaris se dan desde las 17:30: los animales estaban activos, primera vez que veíamos a los leones y un rinoceronte decidió quedarse frente a nosotros por 15 minutos casi y no podíamos pasar😂 Épico. Por otro lado, Ale se dio cuenta de que odiaba Primeval Whirl (la montaña rusa de feria en Dinoland), con mi familia la adoramos. En fin, fue un día intenso, subimos varias veces al Everest y lloramos con el show Festival of the Lion King. Otro highlight del día fue que Alejandro se enamoró de Pocahontas y, en mi caso, Rafiki me sacó a bailar Y NO ME SOLTABAAAA (miren el video). Qué buen día!!! 🎢Hollywood Studios: la verdad ese día estuvo muy lleno el parque y verán que no tenemos una sola foto... Ale estaba enfermoooo😭😭😭 No disfrutamos mucho. Subimos a todo menos Toy Story Mania (en ese tiempo era la más popular y tenía como 120 minutos de espera). Descubrimos que el show de Indiana Jones no vale la pena y que en Disney hay enfermerías! Fue la primera y última vez que yo (Adri) vi Fantasmic, no conecté para nada porque estaba preocupada por Alejandro. Estuvimos un rato con la prima de Ale, que también fue ese día, y nos regresamos temprano. ¿Ustedes han tenido un mal día en los parques? 🌸Epcot: nuestro primer Flower and Garden Festival🥰 La verdad solo disfrutamos de los topiarios y descubrir rincones del World Showcase jugando con la app de Perry el Ornitorrinco (LO MEJOR QUE HABÍA). En ese tiempo no nos animábamos a gastar en comida. Fue la primera vez que nos subimos a Test Track y nos pareció chévere, pero un poco corto. Soarin’ estuvo maravilloso como siempre. • Walt • Before the madness that was December, I found myself on a two night, weekend getaway to Orlando, Florida, to visit the infamous Disney World. This would be my first time ever, accompanied by my co-worker, who happens to be a Disney connaisseur. Before the busiest holiday season of the year, before the overtime and freelance jobs, before hearing the tough news of my grandma passing. Before all this, I found myself laughing and smiling an incredible amount as I walked the grounds of Disney. This trip was a well needed break, filled with perfectly warm Florida weather and childhood memories throughout. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience to get me ready for 2019’s holiday season. ⁣ ⁣ Disney was a surreal, sensory overload of an experience. From the smiles of all the friendly cast members, to the great eats from around the world at Epcot, to the unreal park that is Galaxy’s edge, Disney had offered everything that entertained the foodie, the child and the Star Wars fan within me. It’s like I was remembering what it felt like to be a kid again. Growing old is necessary, but growing up is not! ⁣ ⁣ Often we get caught up in the hustle & bustle of life here in the city. Life filled with deadlines, schedules, bills, meetings, big dreams, goals and aspirations. A high energy, nonstop, go-go-go lifestyle, so much where I know I forget to breathe at times. Disney was a nice break from reality and still is a reminder to me that it is okay to smile more, laugh more, be a kid more, all while never forgetting where we came from. The movies, toys, the memories we grew up with and the characters we’ve grown to know and love. A true blast from the past of perhaps simpler and easier times. Just because we’re forced to grow old along with all the responsibilities that come with being an adult, doesn’t necessarily mean we need to grow up. Let this be a reminder to you to never forget to smile, never forget to laugh, and to never forget who you are. I go to therapy. You may only see updates of my life through social media. Or if you do see me, I look/seem happy. There was a lot of times I was not, most of the past couple of years I’ve struggled. I started earlier this year when I understood I couldn’t overcome this alone. Things got better, I learned to accept, love, and forgive myself, however real change didn’t come til I truly reached out to my Heavenly Father. Making the effort to take care of my spiritual health, opened up doors for me. I have motivation to work now because I know who I am and the blessings that He is eager to give to me. Some days are easier than others. Today isn’t one of those days. The last four weeks haven’t really been those days, either. One of these days I’ll be able to smile when I think of you, think of the time we spent together, when I remember and realize all the lessons you taught me and things you were trying to tell me but I was always too stupid and stubborn to understand. One of these days there’ll be more gratitude for the 10 years I was lucky to have you as one of my close friends than there is sadness that you’re no longer with us. Today isn’t that day. One of these days I’ll look back at this photo and realize how lucky I was you were able to get time off from both of your jobs so we could spend a day together (because of course you always did). One of these days I’ll realize how lucky I was that the last day we got to spend together was at Disneyland and how grateful I am that I’ll have these photos to remember the time we got to spend together that day, instead of beating myself up for not coming back to visit sooner or even moving back down to California like I had originally planned when I took that trip. We of course were starting to plan our next trip back, but the pandemic happened and things like this are impossible to predict, and you knew that, and I know you’d be telling me that. One of these days we’ll see each other again. Today certainly won’t be that day. Maybe tomorrow will be easier, and maybe tomorrow I’ll look at the cardboard cutout of Chewbacca you got me as a birthday gift and smile, or use that Breaking Bad cutting board you ordered from like Ukraine and sent to me as a housewarming gift for when I moved to Seattle and smile because you were always so thoughtful with your gifts and knew I loved Breaking Bad yet needed something practical that I’d use everyday and would be reminded of you every time I used it. When Frozen 1 first came out in 2013, I was sick in a variety of ways and wasn’t able to see it in theaters🤕I actually had a hard time leaving the house, and when I finally got the DVD, I cried tears of joy when I saw a princess who also was home bound and struggled to cope with life’s pressures. Her perseverance and personal growth gave me the strength to heal ❤️ In 2019 when Frozen 2 came out, I too was just like Elsa: a young woman feeling lost and alone in her current situation😔Elsa’s decision to journey “into the unknown” and find where she belonged gave me the strength to leave my former unhappy job field and move away to pursue a new field where I feel like I finally belong✈️👩🏼‍🔬. The cute eats of Tokyo continues! Disneyland is the most magical place on earth, but Disneyland in Tokyo? 1000x better. They have super cute food and merchandise that you can only find exclusively in Tokyo Disneyland. One example is the Green Alien mochis from Toy Story. This is seriously THE CUTEST! I squealed when I saw this in person. They are basically three mochis (rice cake) balls shaped like the little green men in Toy Story. It is not just Disney that I am missing right now — I l knew my time there would be limited. Funnily, I have not seen most Disney films and do not think I own a single piece of Mickey merchandise (sorry, @carlosroche...). What I miss is making children happy. If there’s anything cliche that I’ve learned in COVID times... it’s that each moment is so special. By the end of this day, there was virtually no line to meet Daisy. Around the corner comes a child, no older than 3, who sees Daisy, sees the no line, and runs to her. She begins to run towards him, too, until they meet in the middle of a practically empty sidewalk in the middle of Epcot. He collapses in her arms, and looks up at her and kisses her on the beak. They sit there for at least five minutes. We didn’t worry about numbers or getting guests in. Just sheer, uninterrupted, magic of the happiness of a child. The child’s mother explained that they need to say goodbye to Daisy to let other children say hello, which made Daisy hug them tighter — seeing adults raise children to be respectful is always wonderful. As they walked away, Daisy turned to me and drew a line down from her eye. It took me a while, and maybe because I was too, but I eventually realized Daisy meant that she was crying. I didn’t take that job to go to Disney World for free — although it was nice. I felt so much peace being there as I was figuring out the next year of my life. Now, I am living in Ohio working in a job far from theatre. I miss seeing their faces light up as they walk into the room to meet Mickey. I miss listening to parents tearfully explain how long their child has been asking to meet Cinderella, and realizing how much they saved so their child could have an expensive vacation. Oh, I miss the camaraderie and the immense trust and respect between performers and attendants. I suppose this is a Disney post, but I would give ANYTHING to be in a room, teaching students about scene study. Hearing their hilarious banter about Tik Tok and Hamilton... selecting costumes with someone as genius as @madybarn and showing up way too early to prepare the space for them. I miss kids, I miss making magic and I miss theatre. Sigh. - @ericgelb on Instagram

sometimes you just need a little Disney fix✨💕 • I got to go to the Disney store today, and honestly I NEEDED it🥺 even though it’s not like being in the parks, it was so nice to hear the background music, see cast members, and doing a bit of shopping🤩 They had a bunch of super cute merch, including some of the Halloween stuff as well as some of the Minnie main attraction mugs, pins, and plushes! It was so cool to finally see those in person since I’ve only ever seen them online✨ • I of course also had to pop into build a bear since it was right next to the Disney store! I was going in there originally planning to get the Rey bear, but they had a buy one get one for $10 deal, so I ended up getting the chewy bear too🙈🙈Even though it’s for meant little kids, I love going in there and making a bear. It’s just so special and fun to make the little certificates and give them the little hearts❤️ (oh ya, and there was actually more teens and adults in there than kids😂) • Sometimes you just need an afternoon to do some fun activities that make you happy, so that’s what I did.
