Yukon was featured on last weekends episode of the #FridayNightFosterClub, and we cant wait to see him find his home! This sweet Husky mix was found on the street with mange, but thanks to the wonderful care of his foster over the last month he is doing so great and is available for adoption! I’m a technical person and I’ve been doing web meetings of one sort or another for nearly two decades ... I’ve been thinking about what I’m seeing and hearing, and I would like to add some perspective. I’d like you to do this thought experiment about a fictional series of web training sessions: • Select an audience of 20 to 30 people. You want the people with the shortest attention spans and least technology skills you can find. You will interact with both these people AND their managers. • Make sure they are all slightly short on sleep and fairly stressed. Just for fun, keep them inside and without regular exercise for AT LEAST five days. • Make sure everybody is extremely well-caffeinated. Double whatever they would normally drink. Then add some more. • Make sure everybody, including you, is using an unfamiliar device and video conferencing software in addition to a couple other software packages ... All support staff are overloaded and stressed. • Plan to communicate with the managers for about 75% of the issues your attendees have. You will use FOUR different apps to do this, including text, email, chat in the video software, and chat in a related app. The managers are all trying to do their day jobs and some are helping more than one attendee. ... • Make sure all network and internet connections are slightly overloaded and flaky. • Everybody gets a 10-inch tablet screen on which to watch those 20 to 30 other people in the meeting. You can have a laptop with one external monitor. You have to run the meeting yourself. • Now try to teach something. For three hours. 🥳 6 years ago I signed the adoption papers for this boy and this was their intake photo of him! 🐾 Happy Adoptaversary to the Charlie boy!!! 🐾🥳 Something that has ways bothered me is I have NO idea what his actual birthday is. Any experts that can help? 🐾Facts🐾 - The shelter said he was 6 month ( he looked older to me) - He was 45 ish lbs - now hes fill grown around 60. - Vet said his adult teeth were in so he has to be close to a year - He already had 4 homes and was returned 4 times to the shelter. So I feel like after 4 homes he has to be a bit older - Dally people he was in his nutty before 1 year old phase I think when I got him 🤦 my best guess is that he was around 10 months old? Maybe a full year. - Within a few months of getting him he bulked up a bit ( unsure if that was proper nutrition and exercise or age). - He was microchipped before entering the shelter at a creepy pet store in the Bronx so we also assume he is a puppy mill dog and from the shelter staff notes he was neglected/abused when he got in. So that maybe why he was smaller🤷 To this day people ask how old he is and Im like ummm idk really 6-7 ish 🤷 is it weird my dog doesnt have an actual birthday lol? He has a range !
