I would never normally in a billion years share a photo of me feeding my babe but honestly I’ve been thinking so much about it being National Breastfeeding Week and the mighty mighty journey Joss and I have been on since he was born that I feel compelled to. To say it’s been intense would be fair, between more infections than I can now recall, constant pain, having to use shields until nearly 6 months and a dietary issue that took 5 months to solve it’s been a journey. Truly though it has been worth it all and is such a gift to be able to do it. I really just want to share this for anyone who’s finding feeding hard, I never thought I’d be in a position where I found it easy but honestly it comes. With perseverance and the right support, if you and your baby want to, you can get through it I promise. I would love to be the person to cheer you on, so please message me if you’d like to! [english in comment] Oggi è la festa della mamma. Sapete che difficilmente qui raccontiamo pezzi di noi, non amiamo andare nel personale. Qualche tempo fa però, nello scoprire questa nuova vita che tra poco stringeremo tra le braccia, una cara amica mi disse che sarebbe stato bello che provassi a raccontare la nostra piccola storia per arrivare alla maternità. Le dissi che no, che qui troppo spesso ci si fraintende, che spesso si è giudicati e che mi faceva paura parlare di me, di noi: la nostra storia ha un (quattro) lieto fine mentre altre non ce l’hanno o non ci sono ancora arrivate, e non credevo potesse avere senso condividere. Oggi invece ci vogliamo provare, andando oltre le apparenze. Per noi la maternità (e paternità) non è stata scontata. Agnese, la nostra prima figlia, è arrivata dopo moltissimi anni di tentativi: anni di consulti medici e di sofferenze per non riuscire a fare una cosa che a chi ci stava intorno veniva molto facilmente. Esami, visite e medicine; attese, attese infinite e speranze poi spazzate via da un soffio. Lacrime, vergogna, discussioni e paura di non farcela a stare insieme (perché sì, a volte anche questo capita, di avere due velocità diverse e di far fatica a stare insieme, non sempre ci si stringe come coppia, a volte capita anche di darsi le spalle, e noi più volte abbiamo reagito così). Poi dopo tre cicli di terapia, lei è arrivata. E dopo tutta la fatica ecco la paura di non farcela, la paura che possa svanire. Ricordo i primi mesi come un incubo, avevamo timore di tantissime cose, di non arrivare in fondo. Alla fine ci siamo arrivati, stanchi ed insicuri, ma pieni di amore. Le altre gravidanze sono poi stati doni che la Vita ci ha dato, stupendoci e mettendoci alla prova, ogni volta in un modo diverso. (E no, non dipende, come alcuni commenti maligni hanno scritto, dal fatto che non abbiamo la tv). Ecco questo è un pezzetto della nostra piccola storia: non abbiamo formule magiche, non chiuderemo questo post con frasi d’effetto. Speriamo solo di non essere giudicati e che magari qualcuno possa prendere dal nostro racconto quello che gli serve in questo momento. ❤️ - @giuliegiordi on Instagram

Clients, watch your emails tomorrow for a proper introduction and update! This is the newest member of team Indigo, Carter Joseph. Despite his threats to show up before the gardens were where we wanted them for sustained maintenance mode, he waited until they were all set, projects wrapped up, and finally for his mama to take a couple of heat wave days off to rest. I havent really been rested since! But certainly so in love. Though hes kind of a new team member, Carters been along for the ride all summer and timed his entrance perfectly for the garden season to run as usual, showing up August 4th, when usually we enjoy some slower paced days or take on extra projects to keep us busy. The spring weeds have all been hit hard, the summer pests kept at bay, and most of the flowers at the height of their glory for arguably the most beautiful month on the prairies! I was able to keep working right until 41 weeks under the watchful eye of clients who are medically inclined and reminded me to step back from tasks as my body led. We worked HARD together and listened to that advice, let our assistants take over the heavy lifting (eventually) and even took a few days off to deal with a stubborn foot jabbing the ribs and when the humidex of 36°C would get too much! This transition was made possible, and even easy, by a committed helper that stepped up wherever and whenever needed. Right now Laura is killing it following the carefully laid out maintenance schedule and adjusting around clients, weather, and instinct with next to no extra guidance. She has made being a physically exhausted, emotionally preoccupied new mom a possibility without our clients losing their garden service. If you see her around, kicking ass and taking gnomes... tell her how fantastic of a young woman she is. Shes made it possible to keep all the balls in the air even when I only have energy to juggle one for now! This little Ristafarian was eyeing up my special carrot muffin today (day old now, because mom life), so Im going to cherish these until I have to start sharing on the outside. 🌱🌿 📸 1&2 @blushedbeaute @elizabethmsegura 🥧 @cafe_rista our long time garden season favorite! - @indigogardens on Instagram
