Essa semana foi agitadíssima para todos os brasileiros que respiram aviação. A chegada, transporte e voo do primeiro Saab Gripen ultrapassou as fronteiras das mídias especializadas, e o evento acabou tendo grande repercussãonas mídias tradicionais, do Brasil e do mundo. Vamos fazer uma breve retrospectiva! No manhã do dia 20 de setembro, domingo, a nova aeronave chegou ao Porto de Navegantes (SC) a bordo do navio cargueiro MV Elke, encerrando uma viagem que começou no dia 29 de agosto no porto de Norköping na Suécia. A aeronave foi desembarcada à tarde, e na madrugada foi rebocada do porto para o Aeroporto Internacional Ministro Victor Konder (um trajeto de mais ou menos 1,5km) sob escolta da Polícia da Aeronáutica. No dia 23, quarta-feira, a aeronave fez seu primeiro táxi e teste de motor, evento que ocorreu sem nenhum problema. No dia 24 de setembro, depois de uma longa espera, o motor RM16 rugiu em regime de pós-combustão. O Gripen decolou às 14:04 de Navegantes para a planta da Embraer em Gavião Peixoto (SP). Durante o voo, a nova máquina foi escoltada por um par de caças F-5EM/FM Tiger II do Esquadrão Pampa. Pouco mais de uma hora após a decolagem em Navegantes, o caça tocava a pista da Embraer. A partir de agora essa aeronave será empregada no programa de ensaios e desenvolvimento conjunto do Gripen, dando continuidade aos trabalhos que começaram na Suécia. O Gripen é mais do que um sistema darmas. Silhouettes — Haven’t done one of these in a while. Japanese battleship Yamashiro silhouetted against the horizon after her big 1930-4 modernization, which resulted in the extensive bridgework the class is known for. Yamashiro’s reconstruction took lessons from Fusō’s, which was considered less successful; improvements to Yamashiro’s pagoda, for example, negated the need to move the third turret as was done on her sister, while her stern was lengthened by 25’ during initial work, rather than afterwards as with Fusō. Other improvements included an elevation change to 43° for the main battery and 30° for the secondary, the addition of torpedo bulges and additional armor, complete replacement of machinery, and the deletion of a stack and her hull-mounted torpedo tubes. Yamashiro would go on to become the last battleship to be defeated in battle by enemy battleships, succumbing to torpedo and gunfire damage at the Battle of Surigao Strait. - @haze_grey_history on Instagram

I’m more surprised than anything, but to be honest it isn’t perfect. #Repost @usscodsubmarine On October 13th, early AM, the Cod will begin her roughly 15 hour trip to Erie, PA to Donjons Shipbuilders for her first dry docking since 1963(above image). She will have her lower hull plating tended too, along with other items. I hope to make it up there at least a few times while shes there to take hundreds of pictures. Wish the boat luck, even though she has proven to be one lucky ship both in war and peace. I am very happy for her. If you would like to help fund the dry docking(VERY EXPENSIVE) visit Cods Facebook page. I think it goes without saying that 2020 was not a profitable year for museum ships. Cod will be going to Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair in Erie in a few weeks for a drydock program to repair and renew her underwater hull. This is Cod in her last drydocking in 1963 in Lorain, Ohio. Its a very expensive project that will take about 60 days. We are grateful for partial funding from the Save Americas Treasures grant program from the National Park Service as well as individual donors, corporations and veterans groups. Our organization has been preparing for this project for decades by saving and planning. ⠀ ⚓️30 сентября со сдаточной базы Амурского судостроительного завода (входит в #ОСК) во Владивостоке на ходовые испытания вышел третий серийный корвет проекта 20380 конструкторского бюро Алмаз (входит в ОСК), построенный для Тихоокеанского флота. ⛴Ходовые испытания корвета проекта 20380 Герой Российской Федерации Алдар Цыденжапов начались точно по графику. 👷♂️Кораблестроители вместе с военными проконтролируют работу навигационного оборудования, энергоустановок, оценят управляемость и остойчивость корвета. Также будет проверено соответствие мореходных, маневренных и ходовых качеств ранее утвержденной документации и оценена надежность работы всего комплекса оборудования и механизмов корабля. 🛠Успешно проведя швартовные испытания, амурские корабелы закрыли практически все швартовные удостоверения. На минувшей неделе корабль прошел электромагнитную обработку и полностью был подготовлен для начала ходовых испытаний. 🌊Контрольной проверкой станут государственные испытания, после чего корвет войдет в состав Военно-морского флота.
