A fleet of well over 200 Chinese fishing vessels have been stationed in the waters just off the Galapagos for a number of weeks now. However, what is currently being witnessed is not a new phenomenon. Similar fleets, although often not as large, have visited the Galapagos in the past. Although the fleet is legally, and officially, targeting squid and tuna in international waters, there are undoubtedly, and possibly intentionally, going to be huge numbers of other bycatch species effected. One of the fleets mother-ships was found to have hundreds of tonnes of illegally caught sharks on board in 2017. Recently, the Chinese government have announced it will start a three month fishing ban in the region...but not until September... Goliath Tracked Mine! Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath adalah ranjau yang dilengkapi dengan rantai, dapat bergerak dan dikendalikan oleh operatornya dengan menggunakan remote control. Sekilas info, Leichter : Ringan, Ladungsträger : Pembawa Bahan Peledak dan Goliath adalah nicknamenya. Goliath sebenarnya terdiri dari 3 varian, yaitu Sd.Kfz. 302 yang bergerak dengan tenaga listrik dan Sd.Kfz. 303a serta Sd.Kfz. 303b yang bergerak dengan menggunakan bahan bakar solar. Goliath dikembangkan sejak tahun 1940 oleh Carl F.W. Bogward. Prototype pertamanya yaitu Sd.Kfz. 302 mampu membawa bahan peledak sebanyak 60kg. Tapi kendaraan ini hanya mampu bergerak sejauh 1.6km sebelum baterainya habis dan punya biaya produksi yang lumayan mahal. Setelah itu di akhir tahun 1942, Bogward membuat Sd.Kfz. 303a yang ditenagai oleh mesin solar dengan jarak operasional ±11km dan Sd.Kfz. 303b yang lebih besar serta mampu membawa 100kg bahan peledak. Goliath dikendalikan dengan triple-strand control cable yang memiliki panjang 650 meter. Dua kabel berfungsi untuk mengendalikan gerakan serta arah Goliath dan satu kabel lainnya untuk memicu bahan peledak yang dibawanya. Operator mengendalikan Goliath dengan menggunakan control box seperti joystick. Produksi : ±7.500 unit Goliath. Kelemahan Goliath! Walaupun ROV ini terdengar sangat maju dan memang menjadi pionir dari penggunaan robot dalam pertempuran, namun Goliath masih memiliki banyak kekurangan. Goliath berukuran lumayan besar dan memiliki berat ±430kg. Walaupun besar dan berat, armornya hanya setebal ±10mm yang artinya ada beberapa senapan anti-tank yang bisa menembusnya. Goliath juga memiliki kecepatan yang lambat, hanya sekitar 10km/jam. Dengan kecepatan ini, musuh bisa dengan mudah memotong kabel yang ada di Goliath dan boom, ranjau ini langsung tidak berguna lagi. UNA MUERTE ANGUSTIOSA. . El desastre del Challenger (misión STS-51-L) en enero de 1986 es sin duda una de las peores tragedias de la exploración espacial, aquel día siete astronautas perdieron la vida durante el lanzamiento apenas 72 segundos después del despegue. . Pero una de las partes más tristes de aquel fatídico día es saber que los astronautas no murieron en el preciso momento que el transbordador y todos sus componentes se hicieron pedazos, sino que es casi seguro que hayan sobrevivido al incidente inicial. . Gracias al análisis de grabaciones hechas por cámaras de seguimiento, se pudo comprobar que la cabina del transbordador Challenger permaneció prácticamente intacta tras la desintegración de toda la nave (dentro del círculo rojo en la imagen). Esta cabina estaba construida con aluminio reforzado y era bastante más resistente y robusta que el resto del orbitador, lo cual era lógico pues dentro iba la tripulación. . Lo más probable es que los siete astronautas, o algunos de ellos, hayan sobrevivido al enorme empujón inicial que les debe haber provocado la explosión del tanque externo de combustible líquido y la destrucción de todo el cuerpo del orbitador. En la imagen se observa la cabina ya sin su morro frontal, es decir, únicamente el compartimento donde iba la tripulación. . Luego del accidente la cabina continuó su acenso por efecto de la inercia hasta alcanzar unos 20 kilómetros, para luego realizar un movimiento parabólico y precipitarse en caída libre al océano. Si es que para ese momento alguno de los astronautas seguía con vida, lamentablemente su destino estaba sellado ya que ni el transbordador ni su cabina contaban con algún sistema de escape de emergencia para estas situaciones. Quienes aún estaban vivos dentro de esta gran caja metálica encontraron la muerte en el momento que chocó contra el océano a más de 330 km/h. Análisis de la cabina posteriores a su recuperación, mostraban que los astronautas habían movido los controles en los paneles, lo cual confirmó que trataron de salvarse hasta el último momento. . NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday successfully test-fired the extended range BrahMos supersonic cruise missile which can hit targets at over 400 kilometre range. Congratulating the team of scientists involved in todays successful test, DRDO chairman Dr G Satheesh Reddy said that this will lead to adding more indigenous content to the supersonic cruise missile. The test-firing was carried out under the PJ-10 project of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), under which the missile was launched with an indigenous booster. The missile was launched from a land-based facility in Odisha. This is the second test-firing of the extended range version of the missile which has an indigenously developed airframe and booster. The BrahMos is a ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, fighter jets, or land. Meriam tank ini memang lebih besar dan kuat daripada meriam Tank milik NATO, namun opticnya lebih rumit daripada milik NATO yg lebih mudah dan gampang dipahami oleh awaknya. Armor terkuat tank ini terdapat di bagian depan dan turretnya, masing2 102 mm dan 214mm. Tank ini digunakan di hampir semua perang yg berlangsung di perang dingin, seperti Yom-Kippur oleh tentara Mesir, Suriah, dan Irak, dan juga digunakan di perang Vietnam oleh pasukan Vietnam Utara. Tank ini mendapat aksi paling banyak saat perang Irak-Iran, dimana T62 kalah telak melawan Iran yg menggunakan Chieftain Mk5 dan M60, meskipun T62 sebenarnya lebih bagus daripada kedua tank tersebut.
