I don’t normally do this, but... these ain’t normal times. Trump has banned diversity training in the federal government claiming it is divisive and un-American. To who? The only people who see diversity as divisive are the ones who want to maintain systems of white supremacy. Next will be 8A certifications and contracts that make it possible for Black and minority owned contractors to compete for federal contracts. Then those who feel emboldened by these actions in the private sector will eventually follow and do the same. The reason we are in 2020 and still have headlines congratulating Black people for becoming the 1st Black person to do xy and z isn’t because they weren’t qualified, prepared or better, it is because of these systems that are set up to block us out and bury us.
