@derekdraws sent me this photo that I mailed to him back in the day. Back in the early era of the Internet I was learning to make websites, I needed new pictures for the Link 80 website. We met at the house @steveborth2 was living at in Berkeley & I forced everyone to take a bunch of photos that I was going to use to redesign the website. It would have been a white website, and on the member page all six members would have stood across the bottom of the page. When you hovered over the member, they’d be holding their instrument, and it would bring up a short bio. This was an outtake, I’m pretty sure there was a more sedate picture of me holding my guitar. I can’t remember why I didn’t go through with the redesign I imagined, but it probably had something to do with the time it took to get the photos back after being developed, a line up change, & thinking the quality of the photos wasn’t good enough (looking at them now, they’re fine). Also, making websites back then was super time consuming, and I was a lot slower at Photoshop. I wanted to process the photos so they looked like high contrast photocopies, back then the best way to create that effect was to just make a photocopy. I wound up making a flyer with these photos for a show at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz that sort of mimicked how I wanted the website to look.
