Camille Claudel was a French sculptor best known for her bronze and marble depictions of figures in a craggy yet sensuous style, reminiscent to those of her lover Auguste Rodin. In perhaps what is her most famous sculpture, La Valse (The Waltz) (1889-1905), Claudel elegantly depicts a dancing couple’s embrace, capturing the flowing movement of both figures. “I am scared, I dont know what is going to happen to me. What was the point of working so hard and of being talented, to be rewarded like this?” she once asked. “Never a penny, tormented all my life. It is horrible, one cannot imagine it.” Born on December 8, 1864 in Fère-en-Tardenois, France, she studied under Alfred Boucher at the Académie Colarossi, it was through Boucher that Claudel first met Rodin and embarked on their ill-fated love affair. Overcome with grief from her failed relationship with Rodin, she fell into a pattern of depression and was even institutionalized for a period of time. Later, however, she broke away from Rodin’s shadow and established her own reputation, with subject matter that focused on everyday life, particularly portraits of women. She died on October 19, 1943 in Montdevergues, France. Today, Claudel’s works are in the collections of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and the Philadelphia Museum of Art among others. This performance revolves around loss, sacrifice and death. It presents “The Story of a Mother” by Hans Andersen, about a mother who seeks the king of death to bring back her son. “The Other Side of the Garden” received the prize of the best performance in CIFET Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater – Recorded Performances Competition 2020. Pale Man - El laberinto del fauno⠀ 🇪🇸 Hace unas semanas enseñé parte de una prótesis que estaba haciendo y acertasteis de lleno mas personas de las que esperaba. La primera de todas fue @albagestiphoto fue la primera de todas 🖤⠀ ⠀ 🎬 Espero que sepáis de que película es este ser que he recreado ( y si no, ya tenéis deberes de cuarentena) Desde que vi la película de @realgdt quedé maravillada por la historia y la estética... y por los seres creados por @daviddtsfx y @montseddt⠀ ⠀ Me puse manos a la obra y decidí recrear a mi monstruo favorito: Hombre pálido interpretado por @actordougjones ⠀ Para hacer la prótesis utilicé látex líquido de @kryolanofficial mezclado con harina y modelado. Y las maravillosas prótesis de los ojos son de @hauntedsfx que no pueden molar mas 👀⠀ ⠀ 🧚🏻🧚🏻 Hay dos pequeñas haditas escondidas en la foto ¿Las habéis encontrado? La tercera creo que ya sabéis qué ha pasado con ella.... 🤐 Espero que os guste tanto como a mi hacerla 😊⠀ ⠀ . . . ⠀ 🇬🇧 🎬 I hope you know what movie this being I have recreated is from (and if not, you already have quarantine duties). Since I saw the @realgdt movie I was amazed by the story and the aesthetics... and by the beings created by @daviddtsfx and @montseddt⠀ ⠀ I set to work and decided to recreate my favorite monster: Pale Man played by @actordougjones To make the prosthesis I used liquid latex of @kryolanofficial mixed with flour and modeling.
