What helps me to create Clumps? ⤵️⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 1: Clarify your hair to remove product buildup ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 2: Curl training while Deep Condition your hair, rinse out ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 3: Make sure your hair is soaking wet⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 4: apply leave in with praying hands ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 5: brush my hair upside down ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 6: using continuous spray bottle to wet my hair again ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 7: scrunch gently from the bottom to the top and squeeze a little bit. ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 8: repeat this to scrunch side to side ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 9: apply gel/custard or mousse gently squeezing around each clump and scrunch⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 10: repeat this to scrunch side to side ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 11: remove excess water with a microfiber towel ⁣ ⁣ 💡Step 12: diffuse upside down and side to side. ⁣ ⁣ I hope this is helpful. I don’t know how I forgot about this step on my 1rst & 2nd wash but I did. I use to curl train very often in the beginning of my journey but when I started seeing consistency in my curl shape I stopped. As soon as I incorporated this step on my 3rd wash, curl memory kicked in and I noticed a difference instantly. I would recommend Curl training until you notice consistent results.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔆Add Protein- Protein helps repair damaged hair.  I can see how this might not make sense, it didn’t to me either because my hair is on the healthy side, but let’s think about it this way…your hair is now missing pieces of itself…it is no longer the same. Your curls are literally freaking out, having a panic attack because it doesn’t know how to curl the same way anymore. Adding protein is going to help that panicked state. 🌻📸Credit @genamarie.co So you have wet frizz, but what are actual causes and how can you fix it 🤔 Wet frizz occurs after you wash your hair, wring out the excess water, and it instantly frizzes up even though its still dripping wet. Wet frizz can also occur when youre applying your styling products and/or air drying (more on that in part 2). 💡 CAUSES OF WET FRIZZ -Dry hair from improperly moisturizing it -Heat or chemical damage -Breakage that causes shorter hairs throughout -Tangles cause webbing and frizz -Buildup prevents moisture from absorbing and causes a sticky feeling -High porosity hair has a raised cuticle layer that acts like velcro, is dull, and tangles easily -Low porosity hair struggles to absorb moisture due to its tightly bound cuticle -Imbalanced pH. Harsh shampoos are alkaline and raise our pH. -Imbalanced protein & moisture. Too much protein usually will lead to wet frizz because the hair becomes brittle, sticky, and dry. Too much moisture can also cause a mushy feeling and wet frizz. 💡 SOLUTIONS FOR WET FRIZZ -Avoid harsh sulfates on a regular basis that raise the pH and cuticle -Clarify using a sulfate-free shampoo -Deep condition weekly. Use a heated cap if you have low porosity hair. -Avoid using oils on dry hair. Oils only help lock in existing moisture but will not properly hydrate the hair. -Use an ACV/water rinse to lower the pH and seal the cuticle. -Use leave-in to provide extra moisture. -Seal with gel to lock in moisture. -Balance protein/moisture. Too much protein? Skip proteins and focus on moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-ins, and creams. Too much moisture? Incorporate protein ingredients in your routine and/or your deep conditioner. -Balance pH. Shampoos are alkaline and raise our pH to remove buildup. Conditioners are acidic so they help lower the pH back to down its natural state, and smooth the cuticle. 🌻📸 Credit from @rare.rubi If I wouldve known about hair porosity from the beginning of my hair journey, it wouldve saved me from buying products that are not suitable for my hair😤.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Before knowing my porosity, I was only using protein-rich shampoos and conditioners. As a result, I got protein-overload from these products after months of continuous use. Now that I know Im low porosity and that low porosity is sensitive to protein, I avoid daily use of products that are heavy in proteins.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I first discovered I had protein overload after testing my hair porosity. Many of the symptoms of protein overload matched what I was experiencing; My hair was feeling drier and brittle, my texture was changing, I was shedding more than usual and was lacking shine even though I hadnt changed my hair routine. Even my go-to styling products werent working on my hair anymore. ⁣⁣ My protein-rich shampoo and conditioner mightve worked in the beginning, but throughout time that caused me to lose my protein-moisture balance.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ How I Recovered: ⁣ ⁣ All I did was switch the protein shampoo and conditioner for @Bouncecurl s Pure Silk Moisturizing Shampoo and Cream Conditioner.
