THE IDEA OF A VIRTUAL PHOTOSHOOT WAS INTIMIDATING, BUT IT WAS THE TYPE OF EXPERIMENTING I NEEDED. I WANTED TO EXPLORE HOW INTERCONNECTED THE WORLD IS THROUGH THE INTERNET AND DOCUMENT HOW A DANCE PROJECT CAN BE CREATED AND REHEARSED ON SUCH A PLATFORM LIKE ZOOM, VERSUS IN PERSON. At the beginning of the shelter in place order, the BFN had to scramble to figure out a safe system of operating while simultaneously coping with an increase in customers. Working in partnership with local organizations like the Edible Schoolyard and winning $600,000 grant from Bayer allow the Berkeley Food Network the ability to meet increased demand resulting from the pandemic. Before the pandemic BFN was distributing food to an estimated 6,000 families per month. She doesnt remember what had happened but from what she was told by other incarcerated women, a glass broke in on of the rooms and next thing they know she had picked up a piece, slashing her forearm open. She received 25 stitches. . Fatema was as young as Mina was when she was married off to her cousin, who was addicted to different substances. He used to beat her repeatedly in her head, so frequently that it has left her impaired for life. “I used to eat spoiled food and expose myself to the cold so that I get sick and die. I was hoping death would free me from the miserable life I had. This powerful series by Iranian-Canadian photographer @kianahayeri was originally published in a @nytimes story titled “They Killed Their Husbands. Now In Prison, They Feel Free.” This visual report takes a look at the lives of nearly 20 imprisoned women in Herat, Afghanistan, found guilty of murdering their husbands after years of abuse. In many cases, these women were married as minors. She found that many of these women’s lives were dominated by fear, but years of physical and verbal abuse had transformed that fear into anger. They were so tired of being afraid that their instinct to survive drove them to kill. By the time Kiana met them, imprisoned and facing lengthy sentences, they had become different people entirely. “All these women were full of emotions, resilience, life and most importantly hope,” Kiana said. Still COVID -19 has seen a rise in domestic violence worldwide, “In a place like Afghanistan, a country where most of its population was already suffering from some form of depression, a level of PTSD, or other mental illnesses, the pandemic has only worsened the situation. Читай дальше!) ••••••••••• Когда ты приходишь на приём к врачу - ты сам себе ставишь диагноз и назначаешь лечение? Аппендицит тоже сам можешь удалить? Ты чувствуешь собственную ответственность и страх, а почему у тебя нет диплома хирурга? Нет конечно. Ты полагаешься на помощь профессионала и следуешь его рекомендациям. Верно? Или точишь скальпель и сам себе делаешь уколы? Врач уверен, что Вы не разбираетесь, какие лекарства Вам нужны. Он осуждает Вас за это? Нет. ••••••••••• С фотографом тоже самое. Это его задача, и он должен знать, как объяснить или показать на собственном примере основы позирования. Это не Ваша проблема! Аууу Конечно, тут как с врачом - слушаете и пробуете повторить, то что показывают - есть результат) На физкультуру в школе все ходили? Разминку за учителем повторить можем?) Between 2015 and 2050 the number of people aged 60 and over will nearly double from 12% to 22%. In 2050, more than 1 in 5 people will be 60 years or older. As we know cataracts, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration are common age-related diseases where early detection is so important.
