Ferrycarrig Construction have been engaged by Ausconnex to complete 1.8km of 33kv transmission as part of the upgrade works to Prospect Highway for the RMS. Our team will relocate the overhead 33kv transmission line into the underground conduits. The civil and cable installation component consists of approximately 850 meters of trenching, conduit installation and 190 meters of HDD under bores with 4.6 Km of Cable. There is 1km of 11kv conduit installation and cable pulling. Hoy celebramos un #DíaMundialDelTurismo muy distinto No es novedad que el Turismo, un sector que emplea, de forma directa e indirecta, al 10% de la población mundial; es uno de los más afectados por la pandemia Debido a la gran crisis mundial, este 2020 se optó por el lema es TURISMO Y DESARROLLO RURAL. La OMT (Organización Mundial del Turismo) quiere enfocar, post pandemia, el turismo mas allá de las grandes ciudades; fomentando, a los turistas y viajeros, él centrar sus viajes a comunidades y zonas rurales. Esto es necesario debido a que estas zonas necesitan hoy, más que nunca, el apoyo del sector. En muchos de estos lugares aún existe una gran brecha digital (clave en esta época para la promoción de los destinos); además miles de jóvenes están encontrando en el turismo rural una forma de vida en su lugar de origen, evitando que migren masivamente y en busca de oportunidades, a la grandes ciudades. La economía, de muchas de estas áreas, dependen exclusivamente del turismo y se han visto fuertemente afectadas por la pandemia. La llegada de TURISTAS ES CLAVE PARA SU SUPERVIVENCIA. El Turismo es un sector que puede ayudar a superar esta gran crisis económica mundial. Hoy más que nunca debemos estar unidos, ser solidarios y empáticos con el sector. @michaelleagueplaysmusic - The last week and a half has been a creative firestorm thanks to fellow Snarky Puppy @justinmstanton, who had the idea to lock 5 musician/producer/songwriters together in a remote location to compose 10 new songs as part of a residency in the incredibly beautiful Alentejo region of Portugal. It barely happened (I tested false positive for COVID, there were loads of issues getting out of the US for the New Yorkers, etc.), but in the end, @beccastevensbsb, @giselajoaoaberdadeira, @reallouiscato, Justin, and I (plus special guest @schramnate and engineer extraordinaire @nic.hard) pulled it off and cranked out 10 new little babies for a concert tonight that will now be without an audience due to the recent arrival of a malevolent group of music-hating extraterrestrials, so weird that they decided to land here (that excuse sounds way cooler than COVID). It will be filmed and eventually made available for viewing, methinks. I can’t thank @alentejo.ert and @municipiodeportalegre enough for making it happen, and the beautiful winery @casa_da_urra for being such wonderful hosts. What would a film be without good sound? Luckily the one and only Corey McMinn was down to clown with us on set. Corey McMinn was born and raised in Austin, TX. He started his creative passion in the music world, playing drums/percussion and various other instruments. He eventually found his way into audio recording. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre at Texas State University in 2017. There, he focused on acting, fight choreographing, and film production. So fire update. I’m safe for now. So are my puppy babies, Bella + Dolly. Thankful for the tireless efforts of the heroic first responders who are saving lives, saving whole towns and may ultimately save my home. Thankful for being inundated with messages of love and concern from friends and family around the world. So many of you. So much care. So much. A very fresh heartache. Yesterday - along with inns, hotels, wineries and everything else in its path - an iconic valley resort @calistogaranch burned to the ground. It was my happy place - a gorgeous, restorative tree house of a hotel that brought me to this valley ten years ago and kept me coming back to this lush world of creativity, hospitality and dream-making. The staff was like family. The memories are deeply imprinted on me. I will mourn it for a long time. Meanwhile we wait to see where this goes next... Last weekend mine and @_earthdoctor_’s co-creation OYNS was birthed in the Norwegian forest. Four years ago breathwork started mainly as a cathartic exploration of subconscious material as I dove into Holotropic Breathwork in Czech Republic. Nowadays my understanding rests on the basic principle that my breath regulates the state of my autonomic nervous system. It is the master lever that I can pull to get a handle on my internal state, effectively translating to how I experience myself and the world around me. With Torunn’s background in the yogic traditions coupled with medicine studies as well as her pure, musical expression we seem to complete each other in a fruitful way. Taking into consideration our autonomic nervous systems, our core principle for OYNS is to deliberately move between highly activating and deeply relaxing practices. We see it as highly urgent to train our awareness and sensitise ourselves to our internal states in a day and time of constant exposure to stressful stimuli. Our understanding is that a chronic, mismanaged, activated, stressed or emotionally aroused state is detrimental to our health and our ability to deal with any situation. It also lessens our experience of the innate peace, love and play from which our fullest and freest expression can spring. The skill to notice and self-regulate the state of our autonomic nervous systems could be fundamental in the work towards a healthier humanity and planet, as all our actions are dictated by the states we are in. We extract the essence of thousands of years old practices and try to present in accessible, unique and playful ways. At OYNS we do breathwork, yoga, meditation, hypnosis, music, sound journey, nature immersion, ice bath, sauna, fasting, movement, stone throwing, ecstatic dance and a variety of reflective and community building exercises that all let us befriend our autonomic nervous systems. Nineteen courageous people showed up and your openness, trust, effort and the lessons you provided us with propel us further and deeper into our work as we plan OYNS #2. There is nothing that I love more than meeting strangers who quickly become friends. That happens a lot when I travel. ... 💃... But then weeks went by and I hadn’t heard from him. So I started to think that maybe he was in jail or something. But one morning I typed his name on the Internet and found out that he passed away. His family was bringing him home to be buried in Newark. I wanted to go to the visitation, but I thought it would be kinda weird if I showed up. I’d be the fly in a bucket of buttermilk. So instead I lit a candle in my apartment and cried the whole afternoon. I still dream about him almost every night. And I still sleep with a teddy bear that he gave me. He was the only one who ever knew me. It wasn’t always good—especially toward the end. But when I was with him I felt like I had a place. When I came home at night, there was somebody who actually wanted me to be there. And you can’t just let go of something like that. Especially when you’d never felt it before.
