Three years ago @magpiegram suggested that I turn Kana into one of my cosplay photos. I was up for it, but figuring out what character to turn her into was the challenge. I wanted to turn her into an actual character that is also an actual cat. Figuring out the cat was tough. She was no Streaky, nor was she Speedball’s cat...then Megan suggested we do Dex-Starr. At first I couldn’t quite agree...Kana is too sweet of a kitty to turn into this rage filled, blood vomiting Red Lantern. But, the thought of it is what makes it funny, so I ran with it and created the first Dex-Starr image we had posted (and ended up doing a limited run of prints for). We said goodbye to Kana a week ago. She was 21 years old, and she was every bit the good kitty she was until the very end. She brought us joy, she soothed our pains, she was a presence that made our lives better. So here we are now, after digging through my thousands of photos of her, using a shot of her at her chonky prime, we created this little tribute to Kana. I hope this makes you smile, because that’s something she’s always brought to us throughout her lifetime. I love you, Kana. I hope that someday, we’ll see each other again.
