The backcountry 🏕 in Quetico is like no other. You have entire lakes to yourself. Almost every cast you make you catch a 🎣 fish. The days are long up north and the sunsets 🌅 are gorgeous. As early as 7:00pm, stepping outside of my room, you see so many stars when you look up in the night sky. I broke my tripod recently so this is already an old photo taken here in El Nido representative of what I see. Then and now though, the starry night sky makes me feel the same. Especially in today’s times, I find that it is so important to see a miracle in even the smallest of things. The small things are in fact the big things, as they say. These words in a book I recently read really resonated with me. I just wanted to share in case anyone feels the same looking up at the sky, something we all share and are blanketed by every single day. ~ “If you dont become speechless when looking out into space on a clear night, you are not really looking, not aware of the totality of what is there. You are probably only looking at at the objects and perhaps seeking to name them. If you have ever experienced a sense of awe when looking into space, perhaps even felt a deep reverence in the face of this incomprehensible mystery, it means you must have relinquished for a moment your desire to explain and label and have become aware not only of the objects in space but of the infinite depth of space itself. You must have become still enough inside to notice the vastness in which these countless worlds exist. The feeling of awe is not derived from the fact that there are billions of worlds out there, but the depth that contains them all. 🏞️Chiloe al primer dia de llegar nos recibio con esta postal. * 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♂️Quisimos dar la vuelta por Quellon viejo para no perdernos nada. de nada, incluso de caidas jajaj el camino era de ripio en su mayoria, lleno de subidas bien empinadas y bajadas peligrosas, mas de alguno compro terreno por ahi, pero en si fue toda una aventura recorrer chiloe en bicicleta. * ⛪A lo lejos vimos una iglesia, no supimos como llegar asi que se nos ocurrio irnos por la playa, nunca se nos paso por la mente que nos quedariamos enterrados en la arena jaajaj con bicicleta y todo. La iglesia nunca aparecio en nuestro camino, pero si vimos muchas aves en la costa y logramos varias postales como esta. It was really hard to get there; firstly, because in the rainy season everything is closed and there is no way to get there, but due to my insistence, we found a way to do it. It made the rest of the trip schedule really tight, but I would do it once and a thousand times. 🤩 And, secondly, because it takes one full day to get there (crossing paths, rivers, sand roads, mud and villages) and another to get back. ↔️ The grey of karstic landscape is unique; and the contrast with the green of the tropical forest makes it even more beautiful. ❣️ And, trust me, this bridge is anything but stable, isnt it, @mc_macs ? 🙈😜 . . Es hora de traer a la luz uno de los viajes más emocionantes de todos los que he hecho: Madagascar. ✨ Y, en especial, este parque: Tsingy. Zoom, one app you didn’t know existed at the beginning of March, but now you probably couldn’t live without. It’s funny when you think about it, if you told me last year that I’d be excited to use video call but nervous to see people in real life, I would have thought you’d lost your mind. But as crazy as this time has been, and as hard as it has been, we adapted. We changed, we grew and thought of new ways to connect, to live to find joy.
