Penned for #septpromptsbybt @bybtpoetrysupport Prompts used listed below 1: Enter September 2: Elegy to Autumn 3: Autumn rain 4: Isn’t it ironic 5: When love screams 6: You love a dream 7: Hope restored 8: Pleading form the shadows 9: In the dawn of the day 10: This sacrifice : : Literary note The title in itself speaks and introduces the poem. My opening line is picked and inspired by Mike’s poem. The opening lines introduce my theme of a love story based on sacrifice. The reason for the same has not be elaborated upon. It’s a poignant poem of love lost between the changing seasons of time and the nature’s imagery has been used deftly to exemplify both the beautiful aspect of love and the turmoil of love. Metaphorically nature has played a role in creating the underlined emotions of ecstasy and agony which are both an integral part of the theme of sacrifice in love. Like any poet I am oft inspired by the many poets I have studied. I have used Shakespeare as an inspiration in creating my lines. The vocabulary and style it may be noted is Shakespearean in tone . Some words may hold different meaning from the context in which they are used today. I have used end rhymes which came as a natural inclusion to my flow. No form or special rhyme scheme has been attempted. Mike’s poem is beautifully crafted with all the glory of a skilled poet. Looking at this picture of my mom (Emily’s grandmother) from the late ‘40s after WWII has really encouraged me the past few weeks. Seeing the strength in her eyes after surviving the war by hiding in the jungles of the Philippines for two years during the Japanese military occupation just makes me realize that “this too shall pass” and that what I am going through because of COVID-19 is nothing new. In fact, I think being quarantined in my nice suburban neighborhood, in my nice home, being able to swim in my nice pool, is not suffering at all compared to what my mom went through. She endured great suffering and saw many horrible things, but she along with her little brother, her dad, and his Filipino family, were able to persevere. She told me that her older male cousins would hide her and the other teenage girls whenever the guerrilla fighters (local Filipino militia) would come into their jungle camps because they would often times rape the teenage girls. Thankfully they were all finally rescued by the U.S Military and she sailed back to America aboard a navy troop ship where she celebrated her 16th birthday. She said her dad had to constantly keep the young sailors away from her as you can see that she was quite a beauty! new york born and miami-raised cuban/dominican freestyle artist coro got his start in the entertainment business in the mid-1980’s after landing a few roles in the quintessential 80’s mtv-esque cop show “miami vice.” it was during the this time that the florida freestyle sound began to emerge thanks to girl group exposé and stevie b. . in 1987, stevie b.’s “spring love” was exploding at radio and coro toured with stevie as a background singer and dancer. it was this experience that propelled his move to new york to pursue his own solo career. it wasn’t long before coro signed with then prominent dance label cutting records for him to score his own hit with “where are you tonight.” the emotional freestyle track quickly garnered major rotation on both florida and new york radio in 1989. . “can’t let you go” was released in the spring of 1990. one of the first songs to begin incorporating a rap break, “can’t let you go” not only proved that coro was not a one hit wonder, but it solidified him as one of freestyle music’s exiting new artists - during a time when the genre was becoming synonymous with off-key vocalists and over produced video game sounding tracks. no shade, but i now like a lot of that crap. . “can’t let you go” performed better at both the radio and club level peaking at #18 on the dance chart. the success of both “where are you tonight” and “can’t let you go” helped land coro a deal with the major label charisma records. he would go on to release his debut album and score his biggest hit “fallen angel” the following year. but when freestyle began to go into a tailspin in mid-1992, like most freestyle artists signed to major labels, coro was dropped by late 1992. he would still go to release music with cutting records including the 1993 super dope ass song “stand by your lover.” - @lou_rok on Instagram

Sharing this project has been equally challenging as it has been rewarding, given my personal exodus from public music making a decade ago and more significantly that this specific project was made with the ghost of one of my all time favorite people and collaborators. Because it is celebratory and fun, I’ve been insecure about how to frame it, but the truth is that finishing this set was a paranormal endeavor, and despite how much peace it brought me to bring to fruition, sharing it has been a challenge, especially given our current landscape of fear and performative optics. Getting through 2020 like the model in ‘The Blue Room’ 1923 by Suzanne Valadon. . A few kilograms added, far too much time spent in pyjamas, potentially an uptake of bad habits (🤫) - who can relate?! . This is the next painting I’ve used as inspiration for a still life. Inmitten von Corona, sprachen wir über die Gesellschaft, das Internet, das Leben mit Kids - aber auch Hass und Hoffnung. Eine Freude! 🎉 Als Tom & @benjenak für das Foto zu uns kamen, konnten wir corona-bedingt nicht zu uns nach Hause und suchten nach einer Location, wo es dunkel genug war, damit wir mit Licht spielen konnten - und landeten nach ein paar Runden in der Nachbarschaft schließlich bei uns im Gemeinschaftskeller. Highlight : KD 1994-1995? . Fakta dari Mimin : Membaca tulisan yang membuat daftar pencapaian KD disebutkan tahun 1994-1995 KD tidak menerima penghargaan. Ini tentu tidak salah, jika penulis menghitung penghargaan dalam wujud piala. Namun, jika merujuk pada arti penghargaan sebagai bentuk apresiasi, maka bentuknya tidak selalu berwujud. Sepanjang ada bukti dan saksi maka penghargaan tersebut menjadi sah! Tahun 1994 adalah masa KD mulai dikenal berbakat akting. Sinetron Si Cemplon adalah penyebabnya. Meski namanya bersaing dinatara para pemain layar lebar yang menyerbu layar kaca (maklum film sedang mati suri saat itu), KD ibarat berjuang di tengah belantara senioritas. Jangan sedih, masa itu ada 600 lebih sinetron, namun KD berhasil menarik perhatian. Pengamat sepakat sosok Cemplon yang diangkat dari karikatur di harian Sinar Harapan, berhasil diperankan oleh KD. Maka jika majalah bersejarah, Jakarta Jakarta tahun 1994, berani menjadikannya sebagai cover lengkap dengan namanya, adalah bentuk apresiasi terhadap kemunculan KD sebagai bintang muda terpuji. Tidak hanya itu, 1995 KD penuh dengan jadwal. Masa itu saja KD bisa manggung puluhan kali dalam sebulan. Mungkin tidak banyak yang tahu, bahwa honor bernyanyi KD saat itu mendekati penyanyi yang lebih terkenal karena sudah memiliki album ngetop. Padahal KD belum Diva apalagi Queen. Nikah aja belum. Contohnya saat ia mengisi acara pergantian tahun 1995-1996 di Hotel Sahid Jaya, Jakarta, dengan sang kakak Yuni Shara dan para pendukung acara lain. KD berada dalam daftar para E.O, memasukkan nama KD dalam flyer berarti akan mengundang penonton untuk hadir. Imbasnya bukan hanya KD bersama kakaknya bisa patungan membeli mobil dan rumah untuk Ibu tercinta, namun ia digelari sebagai ABSLMTPAR (Artis Belia Super Laris Meskipun Tak Punya Album Rekaman) oleh media tahun 1995. Memang, meskipun KD sempat mempunyai album Biasa Saja tahun 1987, namun dulu tak dianggap oleh media karena...ghoib. .
