AHSP Transfer of Pinaka Weapon System from DRDO to DGQA An important milestone was achieved today on 25 September 2020 when Authority Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) responsibility of Pinaka weapon system was handed over by DRDO to DGQA. AHSP transfer marks successful establishment of production of Pinaka rockets, Launchers, Battery Command Posts, Loader Cum Replenishment and Replenishment Vehicles as well as successful establishment of Quality Assurance processes. AHSP handing over took place at ARDE, Pune wherein the documentation required by various Production agencies, Quality Assurance agencies, Maintenance agencies and Users were formally handed over by ARDE, HEMRL and VRDE to CQA (A). Pinaka is a free flight artillery rocket system having a range of 37.5 km. Pinaka rockets are launched from a multi barrel rocket launcher which has capability to launch salvo of 12 rockets in 44 seconds. The weapon system is designed and developed by Pune based DRDO lab, Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) in association with HEMRL, VRDE and CAIR. Pinaka rockets and its ground systems are currently under bulk production at Ordnance Factories, BEML, BEL, Tata Power and L&T Defence. Joining the event by video conferencing Dr G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary DD R&D and Chairman DRDO described the AHSP transfer as a landmark event in the development of Pinaka Rocket Systems and stated that the Pinaka Rocket Systems will go a long way in fulfilling the requirement of services. - @dpi.drdo on Instagram

Hasan Muhammad al-Zazou, 26, was sailing with his brothers Mahmoud, 20, and Yasser, 18, near the maritime boundary between the Gaza Strip and Egypt on Friday. Their boat is suspected to have crossed into Egyptian waters, according to Gaza-based human rights group Al Mezan. The Egyptian navy then opened fire at the boat, killing Hasan and Mahmoud, and injuring Yasser. Al Mezan is calling for an investigation and urging Egyptian authorities to review their open-fire regulations. The Egyptian navy has previously shot and killed Palestinian fishers even when they did not cross into Egyptian territory. The Jawoyn Rangers have been working with the Northern Territory Government to develop an approach to conducting land and fire management in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Last month, the Federal and Northern Territory governments introduced travel restrictions to protect remote Indigenous communities from the impact of COVID-19. This is a step in the right direction. The Government continues to support all innovations aimed at increasing the profitability of Ugandans engaged in various enterprises. 19 years ago today, the world changed. I was 11 and I couldnt understand how someone could harbor so much hate for an entire nation and culture on the other side of the planet. Over these long years of war, one fueled by blood and treasure, my perspective has changed. I see more clearly the gaping maw of endless war and the profiteers that line their pockets as young men and women die on foreign soil, hunting for American ideals of freedom, courage, patriotism, and honor. “The war on terror” could our objectives be any more vague? Are we winning? Is there less terror in the world? What freedoms have we collectively sacrificed in the name of security? Will we ever get to travel with our shoes on again?? Those that have served in these last 2 decades will hold a special place in history. We are the bulwark separating two distinct eras - pre and post 9/11. We are the vanguard that preserves the memory of life before war, and the horrors of war itself. We are like the ww2 generation; Living relics of stories in the history books. Children will learn of this war from the pages of a text book. They will learn of dates, places, and generals that speak in staccato sentences, about troop movements, and casualties, but they will eventually forget the personal significance of such events. In the same way the Peloponnesian war has dissolved into an amalgam of facts and figures, The War on Terror will also become history written by the winners, crooks, and academics.
