Just in: 1961 Gibson Les Paul Standard with two undisturbed Patent Applied For humbucking pickups! More pictures and information here or link in bio: https://truevintageguitar.com/products/1961-gibson-les-paul-standard The sellers said it was their fathers guitar for as far back as they could remember and that he had passed the year before. They had an appraisal and knew exactly what it was. But since their appraisal was based off of pictures, they didnt know that the truss rod wasnt functioning and that someone had overtightened the rod and snapped the end of it off. They were very understanding when I pointed it out; and since it was free of neck cracks or repairs, I decided to roll the dice on it. Im so glad that I did! @burnsbanjos expertly removed the fretboard and installed a new rod. I asked him to build back the small amount of wood that was removed around the end of the rod in an attempt to save the threads on the old rod. He refretted it and I sourced a set of era correct tuners to replace the terrible import tuners it had on it when it came in.
