A friend of mine is getting ready for a show and this last week she had some dude approach her in the gym and tell her that she looked good, but then made some snide remark to the woman next to her about not getting too big or too muscular. - Bruh, to echo her words about it all...women dont care about your fn boner. Especially women that lift. - I honestly cannot believe how hard it is for some people to simply keep these kinds of opinions to themselves when it comes to what they find attractive. The degree of entitlement here...that other women need to not get too muscular or not get too lean because YOU dont think it looks good is absolutely beyond reproach. - We all have types that we are attracted to. But I have absolutely never once, not even one time, told a woman that she needed to change her body in some way, or not change it in some way, in order to placate to my sexual desires. - Women do a better job at staying in their lane about this than men do, and Im not sure why some men often feel emboldened to share these kinds of opinions with women. - As Ive written before, women who find the gym, and decide to grow muscle and train really fn hard already stepped out of the idea of social norms about what is attractive and what is not. That means they have embraced what it is they are trying to achieve. - They didnt wake up and go Bob down at the gym...I wonder what it is that gets him all worked up body wise....let me adjust my whole lifestyle so that Bob finds me attractive. - At some point, for most people I would say, during the course of training and changing their body, it becomes far more important to that person how they feel in their own skin, and how they view themselves. Im not saying that we dont like it when other people find us attractive. Cause we fn do! Thats human nature. But if we dont feel good about who we are then all of the outside validation in the world wont fill that empty cup. - And theres always going to be someone out there who likes you, physically, just like you are right now. 100%. - Do you. Someone just liked this post on my profile from October 2016, which was actually a very difficult time for me due to personal and business issues. There are numerous guidelines dictating when and how facilities across the county are able to open in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, one of which is time. I know some strength coaches within the NCAA are fighting for different time slots to coach athletes. This can be a good time to implement timing the exercise rather than implementing a specific rep set scheme. Training for time allows me to monitor the stress of the athlete better. I will have my athletes perform an exercise for seven seconds. Squatting, ploys, speed development, along with any other exercise that is being performed that day that may be performed in seven seconds. Every organ within the body will then adapt in seven seconds - including the heart, liver, brain, lungs, etc. Athletes are able to adapt better to one stressor at a time. Repeatedly regulating one stressor with intense training that is timed allows for the greatest adaptation. It also allows the coach to know the exact system being used. It is also beneficial for young athletes to perform this technique. These athletes typically have limited experience in adapting to stress. Making the stress specific enables athletes to adapt better. This works much better than trying to pull the individuals in multiple different areas to adapt.
