If you want to progress in skydiving while having some extra fun, this is the perfect event to do just that! We will be running the competition throughout two days and have three categories to compete in: 1. Accuracy - with or without radio, hone your canopy skills by landing as close to the target as possible. 2. Chair Race - you will have to land as close as possible to a chair in the landing area. As soon as you land, the clock starts ticking and you have to gather up your canopy and sit in the chair in the fastest time. Be careful, dont drag your canopy or youll get docked points. 3. Aaaaaaaarch! Show us what you got. Best arch coming off the strut wins. This is essentially a beauty contest. Prizes might include some free jumps so come on out!!! One step at a time, the approach to this particular “summit” is a long one. As most of you know, @sherpascinema has been filming ‘La Liste - Everything Or Nothing’ with @jeremieheitz and @samanthamatten for the last two winters. The film was set to release this fall, but #Covid19 has forced them to postpone production for a year. The good news is that the project’s still going forward, and they have one more year to slot themselves into the high alpine with Sam and Jeremie. And it also gives the lines on Jeremie’s new list another year to come into condition. ...worth the read... It is time again for us to participate in Hope on the Slopes at Jay Peak 2020! This will be our 10th year participating as Team NickStrong! As most of you know, in 2010 ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIENDS AND BROTHER IN CRIME Nicholas heard the words You have cancer. At 20 years old, his young life changed in a heartbeat. Nick was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer, an ocular melanoma. The biopsy indicated that his left eye had to be removed; the following year the cancer spread to his lungs and in late 2018 to his brain. He has faced every challenge with courage, strength, determination, and hope. Right now Nick is fighting a very hard up hill battle. He has been referred to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas to hopefully participate in a clinical trial. Nicholas is the strongest, bravest, young dude that I know! He is a warrior! He is not giving up HOPE and neither are we! family and friends i am asking for any little help that you can give i love you all and thank you in advance for all your support and prayers. We will see a very weak freeze on Tuesday night and temperatures will climb into the mid 50s on Wednesday. Natural avalanches like this one can run from steep rocky terrain during peak daytime heating. Avoid travel on and under steep rocky slope where these avalanches are most likely. To stay safe get into and out of the mountains early before the surface snow starts to lose cohesion. Remember you often have to move through lower elevation areas to egress from the mountains. Lower elevation slopes will become weaker and more dangerous before higher elevation slopes. Plan your day accordingly. One of the things about Sheepshead is that were high in elevation. The cabin sits at 12,000 ft and the peaks around us are 13,000 ft. So when an early or late season storm rolls through with high elevation snow levels, we still get it. These pics are from Thursday and Friday this week (Sept 10,11). It wasnt crazy deep, but it was really set up, making for some good turns and good sledding to get around. Back to Mid 70 degree temps today. ‘Black as night as the sun goes out with a shimmering light’ - Mike King’s final tweet was on the day I finished my USA run in 2015. He died unexpectedly two days later, September 8th. Mike photographed the North Pole Marathon 10 times and I spread some of his ashes up there in 2016. Each competitor held his picture at the start line.
