Awesome submission from @seanpkeen We have had a amazing season fishing for False Albacore “Albies”. I have been fishing on a 2002 Regulator 23’ single Yamaha 350. I can attest to Capt. Mike Hogan’s tips for fooling the albies with killing the engine wherever you can, blind casting and tying the loop knot. The Hogy epoxy jig colors that I have had the best luck with this season are the blue and olive 5/8oz jigs. Location wise we have had great success off the jetties of Waquoit Bay and slow rolling our way to Nobska light. Another great spot that has had tons of bait and great signs of life is off of State Beach on the Vineyard, where we have also landed a few Spanish Mackerel as well. The Albies are very challenging and picky fish to say the least, but well worth it when you hook up to them!
