Lo and Behold, Are you ready for this superbeautifulcuteawesomebadassAnjali 😭 Aaaaaaaaaa I did this on 15th Sept. It was my 25th birthday on 23rd of september. Number jargon apart, I have never felt THIS liberated in MY LIFE. If only I could convey how free I feel after buzzing my hair. I have always ALWAYS been inspired and curious by women shaving their head, but being someone who is(was) VERY attached/conscious about her hair, I never had the guts to pull it off. So many times, I would get almost there but never THERE. I would contemplate it for months and months and have a conversation about it with friends once in a while but would drop the idea again. So many times, I would think todays the day but Id wash my hair and feel beautiful and whatnot. A whole new wave of love comes right before trying to breakup, right? Exactly that happened with me too. But man. Am I strong. I took the clipper and didnt think much this time before rolling it over my head finally. I recorded myself throughout the process and I did it on my own in my hut. IT WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT I GAVE TO MYSELF, (among other things.) The present to be born again in the present, leaving behint the chains of the expectations of how I should look like a girl and how I would look beautiful. :) I feel free of those chains now. I literally feel a huge load off my chest, and I breathe better now. The girls and women fighting to stop child marriage: Jenina was married when she was 13. She lived with her in-laws, but because she did not get pregnant, they made life difficult for her and eventually she ran away. She is now back living with her parents, who are supporting her because they saw her much she suffered through the marriage. Jenina, who is from the Samburu community in northern Kenya, wishes she had refused to get married and told her parents she wanted to finish school. Many have put into practice my tips & my teachings and it’s working for them! 🌸Ladies, it is OK to date outside your race. It is a myth that interracial coupling is harder. Dating and marriage within your race is just as hard. We are all humans deep inside. What you need to focus on is how he treats you; & if you share similar values, and life goals. Whites—meet Blacks. Asians—meet Whites. Christians—meet non Christians. It may be you that will lead him to Christ. There is no guarantee that a man who calls himself Christian will be “Christ-like”. I know many “Christians” who are the worst cheaters and worst abusers. All these words are just mere labels. Date and choose the real essence of a guy-his heart—not the color of his skin, his religious title or the size of his bank account. You are ruling many good guys out by looking for the wrong qualities. 🌸It is also OK to take time off dating and also practice celibacy to focus on yourself. Sex is not air. You can do without sex. I did not date and was celibate for two years, and those were two of my best years ever. I grew my net worth & did many amazing things, including talking to God about my specific needs in a man. On my third day in the August heat of Southwest Ethiopia, my brother Melak took me to see the Kara people where we met his friend Shoma who welcomed us into their village and treated me like family. I slept on a cow skin that night under more stars than I’d ever seen and woke up to a poisonous spider crawling up the inside of my leg. I didn’t sleep well the rest of the night and woke up before sunrise to have one of my favorite photo shoots of all time with Lujenka. Jai commencé ma série Reminiscences en 2018 lors de mon voyage à Santiago de Cuba. Dans cette série, jinterprète une forme desprit qui visite ou rejoint des lieux de mémoire essayant de se connecter à des histoires qui ont façonné les différentes îles de la Caraïbe. Cest une quête de la (re) connaissance dautres aspects de lHistoire, de la reconquête de soi et une forme de résistance face à une amnésie systématique. Au moment où certaines statues glorifiant des esclavagistes, des tortionnaires ou de faux-héros sont en train de tomber, la statue de lartiste cubain Alberto Lescay est une magnifique alternative. Par cette sculpture, il rend hommage aux cimarrones (negmarrons en français) héros et héroïnes qui se sont battus pour leur liberté. Bien entendu, leurs histoires ne sont que très peu mises en lumière et quasi inaccessibles auprès du grand public. Par ses œuvres, lartiste offre dautres représentations et narrations à raconter aux générations futures. Pas par pas, image par image, le changement est en marche... Comencé mi serie Reminiscencias en 2018 durante mi viaje a Santiago de Cuba. Happy #Nationalsonday & #Nationaldaughterday to my bonus babies! ❣️ Let’s get into this #TransparentTuesday as I believe sharing my story may help a few people who find themselves in a similar situation...I was always the type of woman who said “I’m never going to date a man w/ kids.” Not only was that engrained in my head, it was also made very clear how frowned upon that was within my own family & culture. I remember being in the beginning stages of Dre & I dating & thinking to myself “if this goes any further, how am I going to explain this to my parents & family & what will everyone think?” The anxiety that came along with the potential judgement from my family & community killed me. I remember bringing it up to someone very close to me & their response being “don’t you want to experience all of your big milestones such as your wedding day & childbirth for the first time with your lifelong partner?” I’d be lying if I said that comment didn’t crush me. Until one day, God spoke to me & said follow your heart b/c what you see as a non-negotiable or roadblock may actually be a unexpected blessing. That message instantly transformed my mindset & outlook. From that day on, I made a conscious decision to lean all the way into the relationship & keep an open mind when it came to our children. That decision was one of the best things I could’ve done. Since my very first encounter with my bonus babies, Bleu & River they have been a true blessing to my life. They’ve been such a source of unconditional love & light & I’m so thankful that God chose me to be a receiver of all that they have to offer. I truly can’t express how blessed I feel to have them in my life. Not only in my life but my entire family has embraced them as well. My parents, brother, cousins, we’re all just one big happy blended family. I owe this in part to their biological mother & Dre who did an amazing job of instilling core values into them prior to my arrival & for moving forward so maturely (no baby mama drama here 🤣). Back in 2009 I got a call from my friend Pierre De Beauport saying that Toots was in the studio and they wanted me to come in to record drums on a soul song for a new album he was recording. Needless to say, it didnt take long for me to hop in the car and drive over. I walked in and Toots greeted me as he always did when we would see each other.... DRUMMIE!! with a fist bump WIRELESS. Pierre played me the song and I immediately got to it. Toots was happy and said, next song and I laid it down. Happy again, Toots requested Pierre play another one for me. Well... all of a sudden we Motown and ended up in Kingston, hahaha. So now Im starting to sweat a bit. Here is a bonified reggae legend sitting in a wingback chair right next to the drum set as I begin to record on this reggae song and he stopped me before I got to the verse. No, no.. I want.... After a few tries, he got on the set and showed me what he wanted and it was awesome. When the teacher was finished I jumped back on the kit and laid it down. The day was done and as I was leaving, Toots said he would see me tomorrow. Hahaha, so I returned to school the next day ready to learn. After another take of drums on a new song, Toots said he wanted to sing on it. Pierre got the microphone setup in front of him as he sat in the wingback chair enjoying his spliff. Pierre hit record, the intro rolled, Toots took a hit, got a big cough in and on cue, sang one of the most incredible vocals takes Id ever heard in the studio while sitting in that wingback chair!!! Im so grateful to have spent just a few hours with Toots in the studio and as artists sharing festival stages. His love and respect for music was infectious and you couldnt help but smile and feel amazing when he was on stage or just passing by in the hall on Jam Cruise with a friendly DRUMMIE!! and a nod. Did you even go to Tulum if you didnt get this pic for the gram? 🤷🏿♀️ . Okay....so save this post if youre planning to go to Tulum! Lets talk about it! 💚PROS 💚 ▪️Its beautiful: Its stunning, the backdrop to Tulum is lovely. ▪️Underdeveloped: Its nowhere near as developed as Playa Del Carmen, no real shopping malls, mainly just independent stores. There are therefore not so many tourists so no overcrowding. ▪️Great vibes: Tulum has a boho chic feel and really chilled vibes. Someone compared it to parts of Bali and Im inclined to agree (minus the spiritual vibes) ▪️Best beach: Tulum beach is probably in the top 5 of the best beaches weve visited. It is stunning, clean, clear, sandy and all things you want in a nice beach. ▪️Accomodation: Our hotel was lovely and we had a lot to of great quality accomodation to choose from. We stayed at @casaagapetulum. Which we 100% recommend. It was like £40 a night and in a great location. 👎🏿CONS👎🏿 ▪️Expensive AF: I wanted to buy a dress but could find nothing less than £200. Its crazy. Food is def more expensive too. Taxi prices are ridiculous, up to £10 for a 10 minute drive and the taxi drivers do not like tp barter. A 60ml bottle of coconut oil is £5. I can get 500ml for less than that in London. This is concerning as its an upcoming area which means it will only get even more expensive. Its basically western prices already. Visit soon because I dread to think how much it would cost in 10 years time. ▪️Boujie: We love meeting other people and while we connected with a few great people, the general attitude is kinda boujie and posey/fake here ▪️Taji said theres not any shade so she complained ALL DAY everyday about there being too much sun. It is super hot and humid but not unlike Playa Del Carmen. I generally wouldnt recommend visiting the gulf this time of year as the humidity is super HIGH right now. Meaning its really uncomfortable. We generally dont venture outdoors till after 3pm. Would we visit Tulum again? Yes!!! the beach in particular. Like I try to “predict” 𝐇𝐎𝗪/𝗪𝐇𝐄𝐍 things will fall into place and 𝗪𝐇𝐘 they will fall into 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 certain place. I try to always stay 𝐀𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃 of the curve because things come at 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 of a “surprise”. Como muita gente perguntou lá vai as dicas para a Trilha da Pedra da Tartaruga, trekking que rolou semana passada. A trilha da Pedra da Tartaruga e todo o conjunto de trilhas no entorno está localizada na zona oeste do Rio de Janeiro e é parte do Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca, uma área de preservação de aproximadamente 12.500 hectares, considerada a maior floresta urbana do Brasil. O parque foi criado em 1974 e tem vegetação típica de Mata Atlântica. A trilha da Pedra da Tartaruga entra para a categoria das moderadas. Embora não seja muito difícil, tem alguns trechos com pedras e pequenas escalaminhadas que tornam o caminho um pouco mais cansativo, pra dar emoção. 💪😉 🚙 Como chegar: Cheguei lá através de carro particular . Mas é possível o acesso por transporte público até a praia de Barra de Guaratiba. 💺🧳 O que levar: Leve bastante água, ainda quê não tenha o hábito de beber água, sobretudo devida as altas temperaturas você vai precisar.💧 👒🧢⚠️Leve chapéu, boné, viseira; Pode abusar do protetor solar, e repelente, mas para carregar só o necessário. Cauteloso sem exagero.✅😉 💰 A trilha é gratuita, porém há várias opções para se contratar guias, e aos finais de semana pode-se incluir rapel, ou pêndulo, realizados ali mesmo na Pedra da Tartaruga; 🧗💁 🚙💰 Estacionamento: São poucas vagas, vale a pena chegar cedo, principalmente aos finais de semana; Em torno de R$20/ R$30 a diária, existe a fiscalização. ⚠️ 🏞️🌄🍃Sobre a trilha: Para começar a trilha de fato será preciso andar até o final da rua da praia. Amigos ya pasó mucho tiempo y siento que es hora de volver al flow yoguero jeje 🧘🏻♀️ la razón por la cual me di éste espacio fue porque necesitaba distancia para observar mi proceso y reconectarme con mi propósito. 🌬️Para mi yoga es una herramienta para conectarme con lo sagrado, con mi espiritualidad, con lo que llamamos Dios y con todo lo divino, un ritual hermoso en el que puedo equilibrar mi mente, mi alma y mi cuerpo para encontrar conciencia, consecuencia y control... 🌱Pero como es habitual en el ser humano la repetición puede hacernos caer en la vanalidad y así mismo entrar en una zona de confort que nos impide avanzar, así que consideré prudente alejarme aunque nunca lo suficiente como para perderlo de vista porque abandonar algo que amamos es abandonar una parte de nosotros mismos ya que dejamos un pedazo de nuestra esencia en todo lo que hacemos con amor. 🔥Es por eso que hoy después de alimentar otros fuegos que requerían mi atención decido volver a mis raíces para reconectarme con esa parte de mi y encender de nuevo mi energía para iluminar un camino que me guía hacia cómo quiero recorrer mi destino. 💧Gracias a quienes me han acompañado durante todo éste proceso y a quienes esperaron con paciencia este regreso para seguir compartiendo conmigo la práctica de yoga cómo un estilo de vida 🧡 nos vemos mañana a las 5am para recibir un amanecer más en compañía del sol que despierta cada día para ver nuestro saludo 🙏🏻 Namasté Grazie @gpresss for the amazing pictures and the unforgettable memories ❤️ - @mapitaenlaluna8 on Instagram

Hace 69 días me vine a vivir en un Bungalow en la isla Kho Phagnan para así pasar cuarentena. Nunca me imaginé que fuera a quedarme tanto tiempo. Pero sobretodo, menos imaginé todo lo que iba a vivir. Conecté muchísimos puntos de mi vida y sobretodo logré integrar en mi y mucho más, la creación del ser. . El universo funciona por ritmos, todo es un ciclo. Y hoy he decidido cerrar uno para iniciar otro nuevo. Hace una semana abrieron la isla y otros lugares de Tailandia para viajar. Pero más importante aún, terminé lo que tenía que venir a hacer y ser acá. Por esto, es momento de moverme a otro ciclo de mi viaje y vida. Es momento de seguir creciendo. . Hoy salgo de la isla, a seguir cumpliendo muchos de mis objetivos del viaje, que van más allá de “viajar”. Sin lugar a dudas el viaje no será igual que antes. Las limitaciones son mucho mayores y los cuidados son casi impecables. Pero sobretodo no será igual porque ahora soy una mejor versión de eso que yo he elegido ser. . I keep a pair of running shoes in my car just in case I get the urge to take a walk somewhere or if I need to make a quick getaway (you cant run fast in heels!) 🇲🇬 Our partner in Madagascar, EDENA, has finished its tree planting activities with ITF! In the past 6 months, EDENA has been doing its best to reach its goals and improve people’s lives conditions despite the sanitary emergency. The project has focused on 3 key points : . Rice growing: 45 households in 3 villages have benefited from trainings, guidance and follow-up from EDENA’s technicians . Community-based agroforestry: 101 members of the community have been trained and are now practicing agroforestry . Reforestation: 14850 native seedlings have been planted in 3 reforestation sites . .
