Farm shop august 29 This Saturday is week 10 for our farm shop - we will be  as open from 10am to 1pm.  At the stall will have a selection of organic veggies including chillies, tomatoes and kohlrabi. Scorri la foto per vedere i miei biscotti di frolla...i più semplici e i più buoni! ⠀ Per la pasta frolla: • 250 g di farina 00 • 100 g di burro freddo • 100 g di zucchero • 1 uovo e un tuorlo • 1 cucchiaino di lievito • la buccia di un limone grattugiato o aroma vaniglia ⠀ Preparazione 1 Mettete la farina in un frullatore o nel bimby, aggiungete lo zucchero, un pizzico di sale e il burro ammorbidito, la scorza del limone grattugiato o la vanillina e il lievito. Impastate. Quando il burro è incorporato, aggiungete luovo e il tuorlo e lavorate molto velocemente, amalgamando il tutto fino a formare una palla. Se volete impastare a mano potete fare gli stessi passaggi, prima fate una fontana con farina e zucchero, aggiungete il burro e con la punta delle dita incorporatelo alla farina. Successivamente aggiungete luovo e il tuorlo e lavorate velocemente fino ad ottenere limpasto compatto. My 1st 100% independently created and tested Bread recipe 😁🍞🍞🍞 A short version recipe is below, you can see a detailed version on my facebook page Cooking With Kwin with complete step by step instructions. Please tag me and share your results if you happen to try this. I would love to see how it goes! 😃 Artisinal Fine Crumb White Bread: 50g Wheat (organic ) 200g All Purpose Flour 25g Rice Flour (millers) 4g Active Yeast (fleischman) 30g Warm Water 30g Melted Butter Unsalted 6g Salt 10g Sugar 2 (about 50-60g) Yolks 150g Whole Milk (3.25%) Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Knead for 5-10 minutes or until a smooth dough has formed. Cover in a bowl and rise at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size. Remove from bowl and place on a table. Lightly flatten into a rectangle shape and fold on side into the center of the dough patting down. Fold the other side over top of this fold forming a long rectangle shape and pat to seal once again. Roll from one end to the other to create a cinnamon roll like loaf. Tuck the spiral roll sides underneath to create a full seal and pinch the seam closed. Place in a floured proofing bowl upside down with the seam side up. Cover to rise for 30-60 mins or until doubled in size. Pre heat oven to 425 with your cast iron for baking in the oven during the heat up. Once oven is heated and dough has risen, generously coat the base of the dough with a larger grain semolina flour to create even airflow on the bottom when baking as well as preventing any sticking. Remove the cast iron pan then Gently flip the dough onto the pan. Generously coat the top of the dough with AP flour. Using a bread lame or a sharp small knife start from one end of the dough about 1 inch from the base and cut 1/2inch deep at a 45 degree angle to the other end finishing once again about an inch from the base. Place the loaf in the oven, bake for 10 mins at 425, reduce heat to 375 and bake for another 20 mins. Remove from the oven & pan, place on a cooling rack for 1 hour and serve fresh or freeze immediately for a fresher dethaw. Need more details? Message me or visit #CookingWithKwin In Facebook! Cutest. Bread. Ever!! The pumpkin-shaped loaf came out so great. Swipe all the way over to see it just out of the oven, with the strings still on. Pulling the string off was a little nerve-racking, as it pulls on the crust, but it came off without wrecking the loaf, thankfully. Covid-19 update 24th March 2020 In line with yesterday’s Government advice, and to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers alike we have decided to close Northampton Motorsport as of 5pm tonight Whilst we are strictly speaking a Garage and we do have customers that could be considered key workers, the reality is that most of our work relates to competition, classic and custom cars none of which are essential enough to put any one at risk. As of today we had a 5 week lead time for rolling road work and a 3 week lead time for the main workshop so obviously a lot of customers are going to miss their bookings. Please rest assured that as soon as we are allowed to reopen we will contact anyone who has missed a booking and will be working extended hours to make sure we get everyone sorted as quickly and conveniently as possible. To those customers who have cars with us currently, please rest assured they are safe and secure and we will progress them as quickly as we can when we reopen. DO YOU KNOW? Whole Wheat Raises the Bad Cholesterol: In one study, 36 men were randomised into two groups. They were instructed to eat either whole oat cereal or whole wheat cereal. After 12 weeks, the researchers measured blood lipid levels in both groups. The oat cereal decreased LDL cholesterol and small, dense LDL. Basically, whole oats significantly improved the blood lipid profile. However, the whole wheat cereal increased total LDL cholesterol by 8% and small, dense LDL by 60%. Once again I wrote a super long emotional post about how I’m feeling and the whole this was deleted when I posted it so.... I’ll go in a different direction. 1. “Just because someone is productive doesn’t mean they dont struggle” 2. “Just because someone shared their trauma doesn’t mean they don’t struggle” 3. Just because we were “fine” by your standards the last time you saw us doesn’t mean that you didn’t see the signs that something was wrong. And is often why the signs of suicidal thoughts are overshadowed by ones perception of other persons success. 4. Today is a historically important day- The first ☝🏼both black and Asian female running mate was chosen today and I think it’s fucking bomb. Daughter of immigrants. Former prosecutor. Further combating the little dick energy with progressive female power. 5. Here’s a nice picture of sourdough that I did not plan to bake today but he had other plans as it was rising so fast and big that I couldn’t let it go overnight because I think it would have over peeked. And I called this loaf a “he” because it was a premature fermentation. Just got to eager and couldn’t slow down to enjoy the ride . . Happy Tuesday. I feel shut down.
