A big past weekend for me with ups and downs. Qualified fourth and in the pre final crashed and had to start last for the main. In the main I went from last to fourth earning the hard charger award and going purple. Sunday started out well with a pole position and coming second in the pre final. During the main event I began to have an engine problem mid way through around lap 13 while in the lead. I continued to hold the lead up till lap 20 with a lap and a half to go I came around a turn, got on the throttle, and the motor shut off due to debris getting in the carburetor. That was the end of the race for me. Not the result that I wanted, but that’s racing and in the end had a fantastic weekend. Thank you to Jesus @p1enginesinc for giving me the power to be at the front. Thank you to @alexkeyez for the great coaching to make me better and to @mattkeyez for the hard work you put in to make the kart fast. Thank you to everyone on my new team that helped me with driving and also made me laugh @kyriakos_sioukas @abbykeyesracing @djsioukas Last I would like to thank my dad for driving me out to the track every weekend and for the encouragement he gives me. Come ogni anno anche per questo 2020 è stato difficile vedere la prima gara della classe regina senza il Sic, un talento incredibile in pista, un ragazzo semplice e fantastico al di fuori dello sport. Uno dei pochi che davanti alle teleecamere era se stesso, senza peli sulla lingua, divertente, incazzato se necessario, umano. Simoncelli era, ed è amato dai tifosi, colleghi, rivali… e la ferita per la sua perdita difficilmente si risanerà anche a distanza di anni. Avevo 12 anni nel 2011 e tifavo “il ricciolone sulla moto delle patatine”, mi divertivo a vederlo in pista, a sentirlo parlare nelle interviste e ora mi commuovo a rivedere gli stessi momenti, a leggere le testimonianze di chi l’ha conosciuto. Non la dimenticherò mai quella maledetta mattina sulla griglia di partenza con l’ asciugamano bagnato in testa sorridente e positivo come sempre. Spero che ovunque sia possa vedere cosa sta facendo suo padre Paolo, una delle persone ammiro di più, capace di ripartire e crescere sportivamente nuovi talenti sulle orme di Marco, regalando ogni anno soddisfazione ed emozioni. Voleva essere ricordato per quello che sapeva fare meglio e c’è riuscito, ma forse non era dare gas, ma entrare nel cuore delle persone. #StyriaGP 🇦🇹 RACE P9️⃣ Again in Top Ten! “It was a great Sunday; after three racing weekends I come home happy because we have always finished in the points and improving. Today we were ninth, I did not expect my pace to be that strong. In the first laps I was a bit on the edge, then I recovered, I got rid of other riders and was close to the group, although I was already riding alone and without a slipstream. I couldnt reduce the distance, but Im happy because doing the times alone will help us in the next races. I want to thank the team, which is now like my second family, my sponsors and my family.
