- Mom... Dad... get up it’s 10:30 and I’m bored.
Since Riggins was diagnosed with Mast Cell cancer over the spring, we completely changed his diet along with his sissy, Maeby. We went from kibble only to feeding @openfarmpet with some @greenjujukitchen topper. We, ourselves, eat really healthy for the most part, so it always made me feel guilty knowing their kibble wasnt all that nutritious. After his diagnosis, we found out that their kibble was close to 45% carbs, which is really quite high. Very high carb diets like this can lead to many health issues. For doggies and for us. So, although the price is higher, knowing that we are feeding them highly nutritious meals is so worth it. And they LOVE it! I love listening to them eat, its the cutest. A friend who does senior/hospice dog rescue also mentioned she also loves hearing her dogs eat because it means they feel good and have a good appetite. I thought that was so meaningful. So now I listen intentionally and it makes me happy ☺️ Both pups lost extra lbs and look great. One thing that is a little bittersweet is that we no longer get to hear Riggins impressive farts💨. They made us laugh, but it was an immediate change and I cant imagine how much better hes feeling now. We, ourselves, signed up for a CSA through @helsingfarmcsa this year. Riggins is seen here today, chomping on a freshly delivered cucumber. Their veggies are incredible and although we eat alot of fresh organic produce from the grocery store, I havent tasted veggies this good before. Totally nerding out over them. Things just kinda suck right now. Our pups feel our stress. I have to remember that. Its so important to take of yourselves and one another. Eat healthy when you can and get your sleep!
