Today is International Highly Sensitive Day! I’ve previously mentioned in a few posts that I’m a highly sensitive person or HSP. This means that I’m more sensitive to external and internal stimuli and feel things more strongly than others do. I tend to be an emotional sponge that absorbs others feelings and emotions and that often exhausts me. I am easily overwhelmed by loud noises, bright lights, strong smells, and large crowds. Tags in clothing as well as wool and other itchy materials irritate my skin beyond being uncomfortable. I am very introspective, self-aware, and process information deeply, but can be prone to overthinking. I also have vividly realistic dreams and tend to avoid movies that are scary or violent as they give me nightmares. • Along with my depression and anxiety, being an HSP can be very exhausting and overwhelming, but being sensitive can also be a strength. It allows me to be more perceptive and in tune with people as I can easily feel their emotions and read their body language. It also allows me to feel deeply, care deeply for others, and want to help make the world a better place. These sensitivities make me who I am: an empathetic, intuitive, creative, passionate, and caring person with a big heart. No matter what anyone says, it’s ok to be sensitive and it doesn’t make you weak. ❤️ • If you think you may be a highly sensitive person or think you know someone who is highly sensitive, I recommended reading The Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron. As I reached for my phone this morning... like first thing... the habit we all know is not helpful but is hard to break!! I had a notification from @headspace : “As you pick up your phone to do anything, be clear in your intention. Do the thing and put it away.” 👀 I put my phone down. I didn’t need to see my IG notifications or check what emails were waiting for me first thing in the morning. Instead, I sat on the balcony and watched the ocean and pet the dog... it was so much sweeter and *intentional* than just scrolling and seeing what other people were doing and letting that be the energy I bring into my day first thing! ✨⚡️⚡️⚡️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think this had more meaning than just about the phone though. Be clear in your intention. We can stop floundering around saying we don’t know what we are doing. Things can be very very simple. Cause and effect. If we are clear and intentional about our actions (including screen time) we can change so much about the way our day to day (and then bigger picture entire LIFE) works. Certains sont déçus et dautres complètement conquis par leurs études à la fin de la première année. Souvent on peut sattendre que lon va tout de suite apprendre ce que lon voit dans les films, livres ou autres mais en réalité la vraie vie nest pas une fiction (je vous apprends rien ahah 😊) . La formation des métiers de la psychologie est longue et pas si facile. Il ne faut pas faire les choses trop rapidement car il faut garder en mémoire que nos études et notre futur professionnel sont auprès de personnes, nous ne devons pas faire nimporte quoi. ✨ Cest pour cela quen première année nous apprenons les bases. Nous développons les définitions de chaque champ de la psychologie, lhistorique, nous voyons et étudions les auteurs qui ont apporté à la discipline ainsi que les bases de la biologie, etc. Toutefois, les professeurs peuvent aussi vous raconter leur activité professionnelle pour ne pas rester purement dans le théorique pour illustrer certains aspects du cours (ce qui souvent intéresse plus les étudiants). 🌟La première année est donc INTÉRESSANTE car elle permet de construire notre savoir et ainsi elle nous aide à développer dans les années futures notre réflexion - la première année est léchelle qui nous permet de grimper 🌟 #psychologie #studygram #premiereannee - @geniius_or_psycho on Instagram

Having very fortunately attended a private school it shocked me at how many boys that I knew who have sexually assaulted friends of mine and got away with it just because of who they were. Moreover women can be scared and intimated to stand up to these boys as they are worried about how people will react and what they will think of them. . For some reason friends of mine are still friends with boys who have sexually assaulted women. They still hang out with them and invite them to their parties. You know who you are and I want to ask you this question ‘why are you still friends with these people?’ Are you worried about your reputation? He’s ‘cool’ so you don’t want to stop being friends with him? Well fuck that! Women’s lives are being ruined and affected by these boys and you tell me that you think it’s okay to still hang out with them despite supporting these women. Well by hanging out with them you don’t support them and if anything you are letting them get away with it. . This is why I ask you to stand up and take action. Don’t keep hanging out with boys you know who have sexually assaulted women and who use the excuse that they were “too drunk”. Stand up for these women by speaking out and taking action. .
