You guys, there’s something special about this brand in this area of Mexico! A real gem of resorts not to be missed. Thanks to the @southwestair #companionpass we saved on a quick direct flight to this private gated community known as Playa Mujeres. Just a 30 minute drive from Cancun International (CUN) sits a two mile stretch of beach housing 4 @excellenceresorts. A residence option @laamada_residences, a Couples Only (where we are), an Adults Only (@excellenceplayamujeres), & a Family (@finestplayamujeres) All are outstanding in terms of the quality food, friendly service, modern amenities, property cleanliness, private beaches and of course, the cocktails. The people at the Beloved are incredible, we see the same friends year after year. Luis, Eduardo and Alex at the pool are the nicest guys & no one anywhere makes a spicy margarita like Juan in the lobby bar. We’re back for the 3rd year and have loved every minute! Mexico is always a good idea 🇲🇽 . Straight talk: some of us are ready for planes and passports, others are not. But for those who are wondering how it feels to travel internationally again, it’s good. Damn good. . So I am putting my money where my mouth is and supporting the hospitality industry, which has given me the job I love and so many of my closest friends. I will buy plane tickets, stay in hotels, eat in restaurants. I’ll do so as safely and responsibly as possible (I tested before this trip and will again after), but of all the places I traveled domestically over the summer, not a single one had as many safety precautions in place as the Yucatán and Riviera Maya. . Is there risk? Sure. But like with kids returning to school and social gatherings restarting, I will manage them as well as I can, and still have some fun. HGOM has been busy travelling around Aus and Bali this year. Very much missing the Melbourne culture however it would be rude not to share a post or two. Let’s head to Bali.... Uluwatu is easily my favourite area of Bali! There’s just this special relaxing vibe down there that is hard to explain, but aligns perfectly with the laid-back surfing culture. There are so many incredible things to do in Uluwatu, and you could really spend weeks down here living it up in paradise. We spent the day @karma.kandara.bali private beach. Our driver Gusti (amazing guide btw), then took us for a sunset dinner at Ganesha It’s a little bit expensive. Where to begin? Joshua Ryan Camp. A brother, a son, an uncle, a loyal friend and partner. Josh’s smile and laugh could change your day, lift your spirits. He had three loves of his life: his mother Loretta, his brother Jarrod and his soulmate Andrea. They were the ones that he held so close and loved so fiercely. Joshua maybe should have been an actor because hardly anyone could tell he was having problems. This year especially, if you saw him smiling, it was just a mask. A mask hiding his incredible pain that everyone but especially Andrea and Jarrod tried so hard to help heal. Mental Health is a real issue in this world, one Josh fought with almost his whole life. Even with all the avenues of therapy and medication, it wasn’t enough. The pain overtook him, as traumatic of a way that he left us, suicide in many cases should not be thought of as selfish, because he is now at peace. The unbearable and indescribable agony is gone, but his spirit lives on. Lives on with his father who passed 9 years ago, Sue dog who gave him 15 years of love and most likely kept him going, grandparents, uncles and more family that have now greeted him and welcomed him home. His neighbor, good friend and radio disc jokey Mr. D is holding a dedication to Josh tonight from 9-10pm on 101.5 FM Deeptraxx on Truckee Tahoe Radio. If you want to maintain your workout schedule on holiday, do it at a time you know you will commit to it. For some people the later in the day, the harder it gets. So get up and get it done in the morning so it’s out the way with! It’s our last morning at @lilybeachresortmaldives, thus we woke up at 5:30am to watch the sunrise one last time and take in the stunning surroundings as the blues and aquas began to deepen. We went swimming with Manta Rays, drank champagne for breakfast (on multiple occasions), watched in awe as the wildlife moved in and out beneath our feet, and took some time to completely unplug and just enjoy our first week as husband and wife. We extended our Bora Bora trip to include a stay @stregisborabora. The generous amenity of champagne, macarons & fresh fruit served in a coconut was a great beginning, and our stay even got better from then on!
