We love this nostalgic memory from Prestonian Carlie Alicastro, growing up going to the market with her nonna to visit her family at @joesqualitycorner (pictured in 1990): I grew up at the Preston Market. Every Saturday, my nonna would take my sisters and cousins on the bus to the market to visit my uncles and cousins who worked (and still work) at Joe’s Quality Corner. As young kids, we helped to sell the dog bones and wash the tickets. After all that hard work, nonna would buy us a slice of pizza! Yum! Now, as an adult, I live in Preston and shop at the market every Saturday. Every time I walk in... I get those nostalgic feelings from time spent with family and especially my nonna. We are so sorry to announce the passing of Al “Skeeter” Walker. Al worked in the kitchen at both the restaurant and shipping for almost four decades. While a stroke kept him from working these past few years, he’s still frequently made it down to check in on us from time to time.
