#blacklivesmatter❤️ As a mom with a beautiful mixed little boy I “SPEAK UP” and use my voice because I have grown up with white privilege, all I want in this world is for my son and others like him to grow up safe, feel loved, have equal opportunities and to be SEEN for the amazing young boy he is! Durrell first experienced racism last year in grade one 😢a boy in his class said my family calls you poop head and said I can’t play with you because I don’t like the colour of your skin. He came home so sad to have this conversation with me, I cried, I was disgusted, the conversation with the school and parents that followed were extremely uncomfortable. The following week the boy slapped him in the face, then kicked him down in the mud at lunch time, he came home after school full of mud on his pants and when I emailed the teacher she replied “oh I didn’t notice”. My heart ❤️ hurts for humanity and although I can never put myself in your shoes, I see with my eyes wide open and I stand with you, support and love you all! In this world we have a choice to Be a leader with love, Be a leader with compassion, have empathy, use your voice for good, and please stand up when you see one of your fellow humans being treated unfairly! “Love one another and help others to rise to the higher levels, simply by pouring out love. Yesterday when we were training together, I sadly realized I only have 10 months left until she leaves for college at Notre Dame.
