This is our public art project in Åbyparken, Stockholm. Åbyparken was built in the 50s as a public park in the middle of a newly developed area. To emphasize the park and to make people curious about exploring it further we made a series of bronze sculptures of animals. Clusters of animals accompanied the visitors on the park benches and constellations of animals awakened the imagination of different fables. We want to reclaim the figurative bronze sculptures that are often considered kitschy and are mostly found in back gardens as ornaments. We wanted to allow them to move back into the public realm. In our proposal for the park, the animals have been placed together and in order to create new, playful, expressions. Through the installation, the park will bring back some of the wildlife that existed here when the area was a forest. - @frontdesign on Instagram
