“In 2016, after going through an extremely tough and gut-wrenching heartbreak which literally left me at the brink of depression, I made up my mind to quit feeling sorry for myself and start afresh. I decided a complete change of scene starting from my place of stay, to my job. Moving from Chandigarh to Mangalore I only had one thing on my mind and that was to live the fullest just for myself. Love was the last thing on my mind. But little did I know what life had in store for me. Since I did my graduation from Manipal, my move to Mangalore was blessed with ease because of the my awesome friends I had here. When starting my new job I caught up with an old colleague of mine, who had also been my senior in college. Catching up with him felt so easy and soon enough we were talking almost everyday. Another friend of mine teased me saying he was flirting, but I completely shunned that thought, not wanting to risk any sort of love mess again. And then, one night at a party, he confessed out of the blue that he had had a crush on me previously, but did not make a move since both of us were engaged with other people back then. This came as a shocker to me because at that same time, even I had felt a small attraction towards him. We just talked to each other about random things all night long, well into early morning and before leaving, he gave me a hug which felt so comfortable and warm and I knew it right there, that this was going to be different somehow and so it was, because by the year end we were already married. I DID IT 🙌🏻 Yesterday at 9:30am I went under the knife and had my breast implants removed. The relief I feel today to be on the other side is tremendous. I can’t even explain to you all the anxiety I felt leading up to this day but I knew I needed to do it. It was a hard choice but one I am so thankful I made. Recovery so far has been WAY better than I anticipated. The pain has been very manageable and my nausea only lasted a few hours post surgery which never happens for me. I went to my first post op appointment today to get switched out of the ace wrap and into a zip up bra. Which means I got to see them for the first time. I had been preparing myself for this for a while so I think I handled it pretty well. There’s not much left y’all but ya know what? I feel so much lighter, my neck feels looser, and I feel GOOD. We weighed the implants and they were 1 lb and 11oz total...while that doesn’t seem like a lot, they are HEAVY and imagine having them shoved up under your chest muscles and walking around trying to breath like that. Man...I don’t know how I did it for 4 1/2 years. Thank you everyone for your love, support and prayers. I believe in the power of prayer and I know God has been at work through all of this! With my constant @anjalee_thakker @sushmitapatra This was truly one crazy trip. We didn’t plan at all and we wanted to take spontaneous decisions. Lol, we started struggling from the very first moment. We travelled in an overcrowded state bus for 10hrs in a day( after 7hours of night journey). To eating allu paratha without allu🙄 and praising dal,roti and bhindi . To searching and finally finding a place to stay in a drenched state (baarish pasand h but itni bhi nahi🙄). To surviving without money and walking unnecessarily with heavy baggages in search of an atm(we were certainly not looking for such treks).🙄 To not finding any transport for Delhi and figuring ways in the middle of the road. To feeling uncomfortable at midnight on road and fighting with 100 self-thoughts. To finding a cab at 1am for Delhi and getting stuck in a traffic for 3hours. We had it all. PASSED MY EMERGENCY MEDICINE EOR 🚨!! . Holy moly that was my last EOR EVER!!! . It feels so good to be officially done with end of rotation exams!!! . These exams are written by PAEA and are a DOOZY let me tell you! . But I just reminded myself to keep breathing during the exam and to not get so bogged down if I didn’t know the answer and just keep going! . Cause that’s what I’ll have to do when it comes time for the PANCE! . The EOR is 120 questions and the PANCE is 300. Mental exhaustion is the real test for both! . Just keep going. Keep breathing. (1/2)”The past decade has been a roller coaster journey for me and my loved one’s. The entire journey was filled with pain, misery, and hopelessness but I fought all the odds to find the light at the end of the tunnel. It all started when I got diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in the year 2010. For the next couple of months, I led a healthy and a happy life. However after a year and a half, I started observing certain symptoms in my body. I had severe joint pains and my feets started swelling with red spots. I consulted two Physicians and both of them ruled out that my symptoms look like I have Vasculitis. I was even hospitalised and was kept on steroids but all of it hardly made any difference. Two years went by and my symptoms only got worse. That’s when I decided to take a third opinion and underwent several tests. On seeing my reports, the Doctor said that I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus- SLE which is treatable but not curable. SLE is a chronic disease that causes inflammation in connective tissues where your immune system attacks your own tissues. It causes hyper immunity due to which the cells of your body start fighting against your own cells. For a long period of time, I was treated with different medications but unfortunately it wasn’t helpful in controlling the disease. Instead, it started affecting many other Organs -from Heart to Lungs and Stomach to Kidney. In addition to SLE, I got diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis- Class 3 and Pleural Effusion in lungs as well as in abdomen. My body started functioning abnormally where I started experiencing Severe Headaches, Breathlessness, Blood Clotting, Insomnia, Joint Pains, Severe Fatigue and several other difficulties on a regular basis. My life just revolved around Hospital and Clinic visits with the hope for a miracle treatment. From Rheumatologists to Dermatologist, Haematologists to Nephrologist, Ophthalmologist to Gynaecologist- I knocked every door but my condition just didn’t improve. I underwent many Chemotherapy sessions with the hope that the worst will be over but I was wrong. - @humansofamdavad on Instagram
