Howdy folx! Major life update right here! If you care about me please read this entirely! I came across #tellingmytransstory today in regards to the trans rights protest in the UK getting canceled. This hashtag couldn’t have popped up in my feed at a better time, because I’ve been trying to get the courage to actually do this for a while now. As a gender-fluid person, I’ve had a life long journey with my gender expression and identity that’s been full of ups and downs. I remember in 5th grade I got to play a boy in a school play and I was unbelievably ecstatic about it. Having an older brother, I participated in both Boy Scouts AND Girl Scouts activities for quite a few years. I remember having a birthday where all I wanted was for my grandmother to take me shopping in the boys clothes section (and she did!) I remember a time when my father told me that he wanted another son, so he raised me like a boy. For my whole life, I’ve never felt connected with my name. When I was younger it was because according to name origin sites, Cassidy was a men’s name, and as I got older, I hated that it was typically a female name. I have wanted to change it for the majority of my life. I was talking with one of my best friends the other day, and she reminded me of a time in 8th grade when I told her that one day, I would change my name to something like Tree. Well the day has come! And I’m not going with Tree, but it makes me laugh at how it resonates to the name I have chosen, which is Ripple. This is a really big deal for me, and I truly cannot express how much joy this brings me. I’m asking that if you have my phone number, change my contact information. I still use she/he/they pronouns interchangeably, but I’m working on being more open about telling people where I’m at day-to-day so my pronouns can be better respected. I’m also working on calling out the use of my dead name. But truthfully I’m still in the stage where I need to correct myself occasionally. Cause everyone can be a Super „Girl“ (Boy) 🇩🇪Würdest Du mein Umfeld vor 7 Jahren fragen, wie mein Leben wohl in 7 Jahren aussehen könnte, dann würden sie wahrscheinlich sagen, falls sie noch lebt, dann wird sie ein Pflegefall sein. ☝️Ja Ärzte, Psychologen, meine Familie, sie haben nicht mehr daran geglaubt und mich aufgegeben. ☝️Ich kann sie verstehen, denn ich habe selber irgendwann daran gezweifelt, dass ich es schaffen könnte, doch es ist wie alles in meinem Leben, wenn eine Eva sich etwas in den Kopf gesetzt hat, dann macht sie sich auf den Weg und erreicht es. Egal ob Steine im Weg stehen oder jemand hinter mir her rennt, selbst höhere Gewalten haben keine Chance... ☝️Denn über die Steine springe ich rüber, ich renne schneller als mein Verfolger und schaue vorausschauend, sodass höhere Gewalten keine Chance haben ... ☝️Das ist anstrengend, und ganz ehrlich, nach 7 Jahren gibt es immer noch viele Tage, da will ich aufgeben, da will ich zurück und kann nicht mehr... Es gibt sogar Phasen, da schaff ich es nicht stark zu sein, aber wisst ihr was ? WHY MY LONG (and chipped) NAILS REMIND ME OF MY POTENT POWER 💅🏼⚡️🔮 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the past, I alwaaays had super short nails that were always chipped...because whenever I got a manicure as soon as I could see and feel them peeling ever so slightly, I went into attack mode, picking and peeling them all off. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I always would admire peoples long nails and *wish* I could have long nails too. I tried my best to grow them, but they wouldnt grow. I just chalked it up to the fact that my nails couldnt grow long. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then when I became certified in NLP, I learned a technique called the Swish Pattern, which installs choices for a new identity...and if youre familiar with the Logical Levels of Change (which we teach in-depth inside of our Certification), then you know once your Identity is transformed, it has a trickle down effect and therefore automagically changes your Values + Beliefs, Capabilities, Behaviors, and Environment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I honestly thought it was a whole bunch of hocus pocus, so I decided to have fun with it and try the impossible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I did the technique working on my nail picking habit, but didnt approach it from the *doing* but the *being*. Who would I be without this habit? Who was the version of me who didnt pick their nails and who had long nails? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She was confidently sharing her craft, so tapped into her magic, and was head over heels with all aspects of her life. She didnt have any interest or desire to pick at her damn nails! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After I finished the quick technique, I was like...Ok...cool...not sure anything changed. But then it did. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had gotten a gel manicure that week and 3 MONTHS LATER, I still had the polish on! Yes, there were chips, but I wore them with pride because they were there and yet I did NOT pick at them. Yet many of these I’ve been told. Instead... 💗Vulnerability is a blessing a gift a connection point. Being fully transparent honest open with someone can be even more intimate than getting naked with someone. Showing your fears, your scars, your tears, your dreams, the fullness of your youness is attractive and deepens all connections. Vulnerability is brave. Be brave. 💗Screw the highlights. It’s never real life 24/7. Rather a hodgepodge of segmented select moments. I’m going to show the reality always. It’s more important to be honest and authentic than to try and present one version or side of ourselves. 💗Oversharing doesn’t exist since yes we are in control of what we share how much how often and also who you consume. I’ve been off the sauce for 3 years tomorrow! It has its own challenges sometimes, but about one million percent fewer than drinking. If you’re in a moment where you’re butting up against the frameworks we take as a given and how awful a lot of them are, and I hope, like me, you are, I’d encourage you to take a look at the way we talk about, reward and advertise drinking. See if it lines up with the way you want to live and if you want to participate or opt right out and be an ally to yourself. I don’t say that to co-opt other important ways to be an ally, but it can start at home. There’s a reason they say you need to love yourself before you can love anyone else, and I don’t think that’s strictly true on a community level, but I certainly don’t think it hurts. If loving yourself the right way might include not drinking, I can say from personal experience that it’s worth exploring. You can radicalize yourself. Being radical is great! That’s why the Ninja Turtles talk about it so much. The Me of a bunch of years ago was both wary and hopeful of an inevitable, eventual self-reckoning when it came to alcohol, and I wish I could go back and tell her the hope was more founded than the wariness. So 3 years in, I’m writing this because I want anyone who might be in that position to know that that experience is an option. Fitnessstudios sind doof! Also eigentlich sind sie ja nützlich und gerade jetzt an den wieder kürzer werdenden Tagen eine gute Möglichkeit, trotz Dunkelheit Sport zu machen. Aber warum trainieren dort immer so viele schöne Frauen? Gestern Abend war das wieder so: Kaum dass ich im Frauenbereich begonnen hatte, meinen Rücken zu stärken, kam da so ein himmlisches Wesen und kräftige an dem Gerät direkt vor mir ihren grazilen Körper. Sie sah so verdammt lecker aus 😍. Und sagte später zu mir, dass sie erst seit 2 Monaten 5 mal die Woche hier sei, um etwas gegen die Masse zu tun.
