Deliveroo - Deliveroo for Business 🌮 @deliveroo ⠀ This was an incredibly fun project to work on and light. As we were working at a scale lighting food puppets we had the opportunity to tweak and try out many lighting setups, without a great deal of effort. First of all, VOTE! Secondly, SAFETY FIRST! Thirdly, as promised two posts ago, the reveal of the OG editorial group shot we tackled back in July. A monster set for the inside double page spread, and a secondary set for the cover COMPOSITE (don’t worry, they were never standing next to each other, they’re national treasures FFS!). The talent is real, the wall is real, the frame and painting are R E A L! The painting was commissioned by EW, lovingly painted by @obrienillustration and expertly framed and hung by @photobuffalo and his merry (and smaller) band of pranksters. After they hung the painting, we lit it with an extra small, gridded @chimeralighting soft box. Then we locked down a tripod from the same distance and angle at which we had photographed the painting and photographed the talent ONE AT A TIME (using the middle beauty dish) against a grey seamless so that they would all be the same size, relative to each other, when composited for the cover. And while they were on grey, we asked the talent to turn towards the left beauty dish and then the right beauty dish in order to knock out tighter portraits for the inside pages of the magazine. Lighting was built and expertly placed and measured by @jtergo and @jamesbianchi with an assist from @evanmullingphoto, who also acted as my PC, and with the help of special guest (and our most recent former intern) @erincpetersen. Digital tech was @johnnytalay. The shoot was produced by @zoetalay for @westyproductions. Creative direction by @timleong. Incredibly patient photo direction by @mstark1. Muchos safety protocols were followed, including; masks, social distancing, temperatures taken and hands washed. In 2008 I was lucky enough to play a small part in a new contest called Skate & Create put on by @transworldskate.
