This is the moment it hit me. The moment it all just seemed so real. ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ 📻 Without any live, in person gigs scheduled in the near future, this week I returned to the airwaves, the Internet airwaves that is. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by Lee Lowery and hist TTT Radio Network to play 90 minutes of music for, at the very least, a virtual audience. Because of the entire entertainment and event industry vanishing temporarily, I missed an opportunity to play in Las Vegas. And I started thinking of the time I played in Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver and all around the amazing venues in San Diego. 😞 But here I was, in my garage. A place Ive spent countless hours building equipment, troubleshooting, learning and practicing to be a better DJ. Ive DJd here before, but never like this. My biggest audiences were my dogs laying on the floor and my family listening inside the house. This time was for real, but in a much different way. The audience, mostly my friends; texting me in real-time words of encouragement, praise and even a few requests. I was playing music from the 90s, a time I hold dear because those were my formative years, my high school and college years. A time (relatively speaking) of little responsibility and a carefree attitude. I sat there, while Mazzy Star played, remembering when I played that same song 25 years ago, in a tiny, only-room-for two-people, college radio studio; my whole life ahead of me. And I had to wipe away a tear. 😥 Was I right back at the beginning? In a way, yes. Life, for now, is right back to where it was when I was playing 90s music in the 90s. Unsure. Uncertainty. I always feel when our hands are forced, we have two choices. Do our best work, or fail. I think this is that time. Its time to choose to flourish or fold. Yes, it sucks right now. But maybe years from now, well look back and this will be the moment that created the path we were destined for anyway. The Hollow Moon hypothesis, or Spaceship Moon hypothesis, proposes that Earths Moon is either wholly hollow or otherwise contains a substantial interior space. No scientific evidence exists to support the idea; seismic observations and other data collected since spacecraft began to orbit or land on the Moon indicate that it has a thin crust, extensive mantle and small, dense core, although overall it is much less dense than Earth. The first publication to mention a hollow Moon was in H. G. Wells 1901 novel The First Men in the Moon. 🌝 In 1970, Michael Vasin and Alexander Shcherbakov hypothesized that large lunar craters, generally assumed to be formed from meteor impact, are generally too shallow and have flat or even convex bottoms. They hypothesized that small meteors are making a cup-shaped depression in the rocky surface of the moon while the larger meteors are drilling through a rocky layer and hitting an armoured hull underneath. 🌝 Between 1972 and 1977, seismometers installed on the Moon by the Apollo missions recorded moonquakes. The Moon was described as ringing like a bell during some of those quakes, specifically the shallow ones. This phrase was brought to popular attention in March 1970, in an article in Popular Science. When Apollo 12 deliberately crashed the Ascent Stage of its Lunar Module onto the Moons surface, it was claimed that the Moon rang like a bell for an hour, leading to arguments that it must be hollow like a bell. Lunar seismology experiments since then have shown that the lunar body has shallow moonquakes that act differently from quakes on Earth, due to differences in texture, type and density of the planetary strata, but there is no evidence of any large empty space inside the body. 🌝 The fact that the Moon is less dense than the Earth is advanced as support for it to be hollow. The moons mean density is 3.3 g/cm3 whereas the Earths is 5.5 g/cm3. 🌝 An astronaut has been quoted saying, We were told not to return to the moon.
