A year ago today, I got down on one knee and I asked my best friend to marry me. Check over your wardrobe... again. Nothing feels right. Nothing looks good. You mentally tell yourself to buy more new tops online today as you throw on some comfy favourites. You check the time. Choose earrings. Text the first few people you think of. And continue the check... check... check. All the way down the list. That nagging feeling sits heavier today. You worry how it may delay your productivity. So you ignore it. Once again. Knowing you’ll meet again tomorrow. But that’s for tomorrow. The dirt gets swept under the rug. If only at the top of the checklist was a check in first. The kind that doesn’t live on the surface. The kind that reflects in instead of reflects in a mirror. The one that takes the nagging away. Die beiden hätten sich ihre Hochzeit eigentlich ganz anders vorgestellt. Knapp 80 Gäste sollten es sein in einer gebuchten Location. Durch die aktuellen Ereignisse wurde ihnen da allerdings (wie vielen) ein Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht. Statt alles abzusagen und zu verschieben wurde die Gästeliste auf 20 runter gekürzt. Mit viel Herzblut haben die beiden dekoriert, selbst gebaut, nahmen es einfach so hin wie es kam und haben aus allem das Beste gemacht. Sie wurden belohnt! Es war eine absolute Traumhochzeit!! Sie hatten genug Zeit für ihre Gäste und von einigen, die nicht teilnehmen konnten, durften sie auf ihrer kleinen Überraschungstour dennoch Glückwünsche entgegennehmen. Auch das Wetter war voll auf ihrer Seite und so wurde die freie Trauung, welche mitten in den Reben vom Papa und Bruder gehalten wurde, zu einem unvergesslichen, einmaligen Erlebnis. Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing🤤 •2 and a half cups flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 2 cups soya milk, 1/2 cup vegan butter (and a tbsp for lining the cake tin), 100g dark chocolate, 2 tsp baking powder, 1tsp baking soda, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp lemon juice, pinch of salt •Sieve all the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, put the butter and chocolate into the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Stir until the chocolate has melted. Add the rest of the ingredients (including the melted chocolate and butter) to the dry ingredients and combine. Don’t over mix. Line 2 baking tins with butter. Separate the mixture into the 2 tins. Cook at 350FH for 35-40 mins. •For the best icing I’ve ever tasted in my life... 1 cup vegan cream cheese, 1 cup smooth natural peanut butter, 1/2 icing sugar, 3tbsp soya milk, 1tsp vanilla extract (double this if you want to ice the outside as well as the middle and top layer). •Combine the cream cheese, peanut butter, icing sugar and extract into a large bowl and whisk. If you want a thinner consistency, gradually add the milk to the mixture. •When the cake has cooled, spread the icing over with a spatula. I topped with cocoa powder👌🏼 - @avoolaugh on Instagram
