Penjelasan Foto dan Meme⤵️⤵️ KRI Irian adalah salah satu kapal penjelajah ringan yang pernah dimiliki Indonesia.Kapal ini dibeli dari Uni Soviet oleh pemerintah Indonesia pada tahun 1962.Kapal ini dibuat pada tahun 1949 di galangan kapal Admiralty,Leningrad dan mulai ditugaskan di AL Uni Soviet pada Juni 1952,sementara di Indonesia sendiri kapal ini ditugaskan tahun 1963.Kapal kelas Sverdlov ini sebelumnya bernama Ordzhonikidze. Persiapan Operasi di Indonesia KRI Irian pada tanggal 14 Februari 1961 tiba di Sevastopol.Pada tanggal 5 April 1962 kapal ini melakukan uji coba di laut,kala itu kru kapal KRI Irian sudah terbentuk dan sudah berada diatas kapal. Operasional KRI Irian tiba di Surabaya tanggal 5 Agustus 1962 dan dinyatakan resmi keluar dari kedinasan AL Uni Soviet pada 24 Januari 1963.ALRI belajar mengoperasikan kapal ini secara Trial and Error,sayangnya 3 dari 6 boiler KRI Irian mengalami kerusakan.Selain itu suhu serta kelembaban yang tinggi berdampak negatif kepada ALRI.Di lain sisi kehadiran kapal ini mampu membuat Belanda tercengang. Silhouettes — Haven’t done one of these in a while. Japanese battleship Yamashiro silhouetted against the horizon after her big 1930-4 modernization, which resulted in the extensive bridgework the class is known for. Yamashiro’s reconstruction took lessons from Fusō’s, which was considered less successful; improvements to Yamashiro’s pagoda, for example, negated the need to move the third turret as was done on her sister, while her stern was lengthened by 25’ during initial work, rather than afterwards as with Fusō. Other improvements included an elevation change to 43° for the main battery and 30° for the secondary, the addition of torpedo bulges and additional armor, complete replacement of machinery, and the deletion of a stack and her hull-mounted torpedo tubes. Yamashiro would go on to become the last battleship to be defeated in battle by enemy battleships, succumbing to torpedo and gunfire damage at the Battle of Surigao Strait. - @haze_grey_history on Instagram

5/13 USS Missouri (BB-63) - On 17 april 1945 she was instrumental in an operation where an enemy submarine was sunk. As part of Okinawa campaign she had shot down 5 enemy planes, repelled daylight attacks and been involved in shore bombardment, just to name a few. FS Dunkerque ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dunkerque was the lead ship of Dunkerque Class Battleship built for the French Navy in the 1930s. The class also included Strasbourg. The two ships were the first capital ship to be built by the French Navy after WW1; the planned Normandie and Lyon Classes had been cancelled at the outbreak of war, and budgetary problems prevented the French from building new battleships in the decade after the war. Dunkerque was laid down in December 1932, was launched October 1935, and was completed in May 1937. She was armed with a main battery of eight 330mm/50 modéle 1931 gun, arranged in two quadruple gun turrets and had a top speed of 29.5 knots (54.6 km/h; 33.9 mph) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dunkerque and Strasbourg formed the French Navys 1ère Division de Ligne (1st Division of the Line) prior the Second World War. The two ships searched for German commerce raiders in the early months of the war, and Dunkerque also participated in convoy escort duties. The ship was badly damaged during the British attack after the Armistice that ended the first phase of Frances participation in WW2, but she was refloated and partially repaired to return to Toulon for comprehensive repairs. Dunkerque was scyttled in November 1942 to prevent her capture by the Germans, and subsequently seized and partially scrapped by the Italians and later the Germans. The last major #USNavy ship sunk in #WWII, the cruiser USS Indianapolis (CA 35) delivered the final blow that ended the war. 75 years later, they’ve left a legacy of resilience and sacrifice. Honoring the service, sacrifice and resilience of the crew, @usnavycno has asked the Fleet for a moment of silence and members of Congress will present the survivors with the Congressional Gold Medal during a virtual ceremony today at 1100 EDT. The story of the WWII service and ultimate loss of Indianapolis is an important chapter in the story of the U.S. Navy. Days after delivering components of the atomic bomb later dropped on Hiroshima to a base in the Pacific, the cruiser was attacked by a Japanese sub just after midnight on July 30, 1945. Sinking within minutes, more than 880 of the ship’s 1,196 Sailors and Marines went into the water. After four to five days of exposure, drowning, and shark attacks, only 316 survived. Eight survivors remain alive today. While the ship’s final act has made her the subject of enduring public interest, it was her remarkable success in battle that made her and her crew legends. The two surviving Littorio-class battleships Italia (formerly lead ship Littorio, shown closest to the camera) and Vittorio Veneto after reaching Malta in September 1943. Their sister ship Roma, which had been flagship of the Commander in Chief, Naval Battle Forces, Admiral Carlo Bergamini, was sunk by a pair of German PC 1400 X guided glider bombs, dropped from Dornier Do 217s while the contingent was en route from La Spezia. This loss of fleet leadership made for a tricky situation within the remaining ships, proceeding cautiously into the unknown only a day after orders arrived to sail for an Allied port instead of resisting invasion. They were met by their escorting Allied ships on the 10th, and arrived in Malta the next day. Breechblocks were removed, except for anti-aircraft guns, and an Allied presence was initially established aboard; there had been thoughts of scuttling upon arrival, but these intentions were subjugated by the placing of the battleships under the senior Italian officer at Malta, Admiral Alberto de Zara. aboard the battleship Caio Duilio, which had arrived from Taranto the previous day. - The two surviving Littorios were moved to Alexandria beginning on 14 September, along with the bulk of the fleet that had come over to the Allies at Malta; most of them would return to Italian ports in short order, to rejoin the fight after Italy’s declaration of war against Germany on 13 October. The Littorios were not so lucky, and were shuttled off to the Great Bitter Lake for several years of internment. Though there was talk of sending them to the Far East against Japan as the core of an Italian Allied Task Force, the requisite equipment installations, systems compatibility conversions, and subsequent training would have kept them from the Pacific Theater until at least the end of 1946, and the plans were discarded. - @haze_grey_history on Instagram

The Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force #JMSDF is being represented at the exercise by guided missile destroyer, JS Ikazuchi and Helicopter Carrier, JS Kaga. Rear Admiral Konno Yasushige, Commander Escort Flotilla Two (CCF2) is heading the JMSDF complement while #IndianNavy (IN) complement is being headed by Rear Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet. The IN complement comprises guided missile destroyer INS Chennai, guided missile frigate INS Tarkash and replenishment tanker INS Deepak. JIMEX-2020 includes anti-submarine and advanced air defence #exercises as well as other tactical manoeuvres that cover a wide spectrum of maritime operations.
