TEACHER FEATURE: Chris Eldridge @crittereldridge Congrats to Chris Eldridge for being awarded Instrumentalist of the Year last night at the Americana Music Association Awards Event! Were so excited to have him on board as one of our instructors! Applications open in just a few weeks, October 1st! As a member of Punch Brothers since the bands inception, guitarist Chris Eldridge has been at the vanguard of acoustic music for much of the past decade. Although initially drawn to the electric guitar, by his mid-teens Chris Eldridge had developed a deep love for acoustic music, thanks in part to his father, a banjo player and founding member of the seminal bluegrass group The Seldom Scene. Eldridge later gained in-depth exposure to a variety of different musical styles while studying at Oberlin Conservatory, where he earned a degree in music performance in 2004. During his time at Oberlin, Eldridge studied with legendary guitarist Tony Rice. After graduating he joined the Seldom Scene with whom he received a Grammy nomination in 2007. In 2005 he founded the critically acclaimed bluegrass band The Infamous Stringdusters. At the 2007 International Bluegrass Music Association awards Eldridge and his Stringdusters bandmates won Emerging artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year for their debut album, Fork in the Road. Meanwhile, in 2005 he had caught the attention of mandolinist Chris Thile, who enlisted him, along with banjoist Noam Pikelny, violinist Gabe Witcher, and bassist Greg Garrison to start working on an ambitious side project. Soon after they decided to focus all of their collective energies into band and Punch Brothers was born. Our home, offices, and local community are for now outside the path of the Glass Fire. The LIOCO tasting room is for now, “safe” and is open for business. The winery is for now outside the path and all of our 2020 wine is safely resting in barrel. Cal Fire reports progress made on the Glass fire containment lines overnight – up to 5 percent Thursday morning. The fire grew by an estimated 5,500 acres, to a total of 56,781 acres blackened as of early Thursday. No additional structures beyond the 36 reported Wednesday have been destroyed. More than 2,100 firefighting personnel are battling the blaze that began Sunday morning in Napa County and spread west, endangering Trione-Annadel State Park and Santa Rosa’s eastern edge. More than 50,000 Sonoma County residents were evacuated at the peak danger, though most have been allowed to return home, and power is being restored in those areas. Wine country residents are a resilient bunch—we will persist!! We are excited to announce that Lucas has been promoted to big brother! He will assume this role as of mid-April, 2021 when his new sibling arrives. Tbh, this shoot was a big ol Film-Family reunion. I first met the dynamic brother & sister directing duo of Stephen and Alexis on my first SAG feature, Rocket Science in 05. Yall should definitely check out their epic music videos! The insanely talented DP, Levi Magyar and I first met on a shoot in 08, but unknown to either of us, hes been helping me since 98. If youre looking to film The Impossible, this is your DP! And despite our characters not getting along by the end, the always lovely and absolutely brilliantly talented @emilypeachy And I first met in 06! Keep your eyes on her, shes playing opposite Josh Hartnett in a new series! Mad love all of my friends on this shoot who go back like vertebrate. And all my love to all the new friends I made on set who Ive been fortunate enough to work with several times since! All of yall killed it👍💯👍 Coming down from New York for this shoot happened at the perfect time. I was a less than happy camper that fall, but then the angel of Baltimore, Pat Moran, Cast me to play Henry👍 Fun fact, she cast me in my first SAG role way back in 2005 for HBOs Rocket Science. Ive auditioned for her many times since, and have been fortunate enough to book Scottie French in The Dead Ones, Henry in Fishbowl, and Scowler in Wonder Woman 1984. She is a casting legend💯 So, grab yourself a goblet of apple cider are pumpkin spice or whatever your dig is, and cozy up to this wicked little gem. P.S.
