A scuola, durante la spiegazione. (ammetto che questo era il mio momento preferito) Con gli anni i ritmi sono cambiati e adesso leggo almeno la metà dei libri che riuscivo a leggere in un mese e per farlo sono costretta a ritagliarmi del tempo che di solito va a coincidere con le ore notturne. La mia fortuna è quella di essere veloce a leggere, così da divorare un libro anche in mezza giornata se mi colpisce! La lettura rapida, però, comporta un livello inferiore di comprensione del testo, ma con la pratica sarete in grado di gestire tale “effetto collaterale”. 𝐻𝑒𝑦 𝑞𝑢𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑎! Hoy les traigo la reseña de un libro diferente a los que suelo leer, pero que me gusto muchísimo! Si, si es contigo - Calle y Poché ★★★★ 4/5 Básicamente esta novela trata la historia de dos chicas que se conocen por casualidad, y pasan de ser las mejores amigas, a novias. Nos cuentan diferentes mini relatos por los que fueron pasando, situaciones familiares o de sus ex parejas. Y como afrontaron el amor que empezaron a sentir la una por la otra. Ninguna de las dos chicas autoras de este libro es escritora. Por eso, creo que es algo diferente a lo que estoy acostumbrada a leer. Antes de darle la oportunidad al libro se me ocurrió leer algunas reseñas, y me molesto MUCHO ver como la gente criticaba “lo mal escrito que esta el libro”. Y eso me hizo pensar en cómo hay veces que uno quiere escribir, y se tira para atrás por creer que no sabe como hacerlo. Yo creo que todos son capaces de escribir, si así lo desean. Y si estás dos chicas sintieron que estaban preparadas para escribir y publicar una historia que las hizo feliz, bienvenido sea! Algo que me gusto mucho de esta novela, es que Calle y Poché se tomaron el trabajo de grabar el audiolibro, narrando cada una la parte que sus personajes representaban. Por lo tanto, yo decidí ir escuchando mientras leía. Y eso hizo que entienda mucho más la historia. Quizá, si lo leía sin escuchar, no habría sabido quién contaba cada relato 🙈. Igualmente, eso fue por tener el libro en pdf. Porque se que el libro físico está preparado para que el lector lo entienda. Ya que las hojas son blancas o negras, dependiendo de si habla “D” o “M”. Y también están diferenciada las hojas cuando son del “diario íntimo” de cada una, porque a estas les pusieron la textura de una hoja arrugada. (No veo la hora de comprar el libro físico!!!) En cuanto a la novela, me encanto! Me enamore de las dos protagonistas, “D” y “M”. Sus personalidades, y el amor que tenían la una por la otra, me hicieron adorarlas. I have been doing long distance with my close friends like since forever. #tbf i remember how freely i used to laugh, how i didnt care if i laughed too loud or if anyone thought my laugh was weird..... I remember being so shy but confident to talk to someone else who looked shy and outta place too.... i rememeber feeling like i didnt fit in anywhere... i remember being proud of the person i am while knowing that i was still discovering who i will become.... I remember knowing with full certainty that i will save up money and fly to Ireland for @laura.gallagher84 wedding knowing i had missed so many others..... I remember meeting @neverfullydressed Lucy and loved that we were both Mad on the same table! I know that i have, a few times in my life, lost who i am to fit in to what people around me wanted/expected. I know i have failed to change myself and no one ends up happy. I hope i dont do it again, but know that i also might in future. I have grown wiser, smarter, more patient, more aware all the while keeping my compassion, kindness and empathy. Long post alert! The last few months have been quite a journey for me personally & professionally. From being awarded Chef of the Year to leaving a place that was my workplace and second home for 5 years to sitting at home during the lockdown for months with no agenda for the day (after 13 years of working non stop) and getting so so so much quality time with my family and with my own thoughts. The first few months were a breeze with me relishing every minute spent at home, cooking for my family, then discovering the world of sharing my recipes with all of you through my IGTVS to my cooking workshops, to reading, researching about different ingredients cuisines I realized that there was so much that I could do as a Chef even in lockdown. But the last month was a little hard on me mentally as I saw my colleagues and friends diving back into their restaurant life, talking about their new dishes, new menus, being busy, telling me about their day at work, the joy of cooking and serving people, and suddenly I felt isolated, out of place, maybe jealous too at times, as all I wanted to do was be back in my kitchen with my team, cooking for my guests. The project that I was working on was put on hold due to the current condition of the hospitality industry and I did not want to take up any job just for the sake of being back in a kitchen. I had days of being moody, cranky, snappy where I would chew my parents and closest friends heads about when Ill go back into my Chef life, when would corona end, why is life so unfair to me, and so on and so forth. One day I suddenly realized that this time too would never come back, and I cut off from the outside world for a few days to just spend some time with myself . I started thinking and putting my thoughts together and with a lot of hard work, research and brainstorming came up with my Flavors of India series on Instagram, and my own YOUTUBE channel where Ill be sharing all of the IGTVS that Ive made till now along with some new exclusive YouTube recipe videos (will be sharing the link this week) , and something else which I will reveal super soon as its still a work in progress (excited) ! *continued in comments* - @meghakohli on Instagram

Say Hello to my new theme and as far I know, I am going to stick to it till the end. If that happens, it would be the longest relationship I have ever been in (😁) The idea is to keep it minimal, aesthetic and impart so many literary quality into the content. I hope you like it :) • • Today I read a quote by Vincent Van Gogh that said “Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done so well.” I felt very connected to this quote. When I talk about literature and art, I am at the fullest bliss where my eyes sparkle, heart leaps up and world becomes a much better place for me. To attain this state I made an ardent pursuit. Literature did not happen to me out of the blue after my 12th grade marks were not so great according to the standards of the Indian Society. It happened much before that. Literature happened to me the moment I began reading. What I wanted to say is that when you know something is your life’s calling, follow it with love. There is so much thrill in satisfying your heart rather than fulfilling the standards set by the society. There is so much joy in finding your tribe and having the sense of belonging. I am writing this on Suicide Prevention Week 2020 because everytime I read news, I see students committing suicide due to peer pressure over college and career. It’s a gentle reminder that there are many courses and opportunities that can cater to your needs and ambition. Pursue them with heart and don’t give up on life. E isso é algo muito mais antigo do que imaginamos. A forma como a autora colocou o assunto é muito interessante, pois ela cita inúmeros filmes, séries e programas de tv desde os tempos antigos até hoje e abre nossos olhos de uma forma surpreendente para quanto somos manipulados. A mídia desde sempre passou uma imagem errada sobre as mulheres, isso causou e causa rivalidade feminina e impulsiona o patriarcado cada vez mais. Nas mídias antigas o olhar patriarcal para com as mulheres era muito mais claro, e nos tempos atuais somos manipulados para acreditar que a igualdade de gêneros já existe ou está perto de existir, mas no fundo continua sendo uma manipulação para nos cegar. Enquanto mulheres somos objetificadas, inferiorizadas, sexualizadas, exploradas, invisibilizadas e silenciadas, sempre foi assim. Ao começar a leitura a sensação é de que não será um assunto tão profundo, mas no final só senti que precisava ter lido um conteúdo assim antes, a forma como vemos a mídia sem dúvidas muda drasticamente depois de ler tudo isso. ~ Gur wali chai, namak paray and sari ~ I wore Sari 🥻and got ready. I had this idea in mind for a post, something like ‘10 Random Facts About Me’. After thinking hard for like 30 mins when I couldn’t find any interesting facts and all seemed fiction, I resigned with the conclusion that Fσσԃis the biggest fact of my life! All I have to do is open the selfie mode, show my palm and it takes the photo after a few seconds. I can also take a hands free selfie by saying Capture. Its amazing because I dont need a remote for this feature. After taking a bunch of self portraits in my car today, this is the one I ended up liking the most.
