From the hills of Tuscany we wish you all a fantastic #negroniweek! #ad21+ We met during the very hot summer of 2001 in Piazza Santo Spirito, in the historical center of Florence… it took us just about a week and a few drinks, to decide we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together! Since those unforgettable first days of romance, now almost two decades later, we have finally and permanently moved onto the family estate in Fiesole, just right up the hill from the city. In doing so, we have developed a quasi-regular habit of walking down to the main (and only) “piazza”, to enjoy a chilled aperitivo before either hitting a restaurant or returning home for dinner. A well done Negroni is more often than not our drink of choice; classic flavor, sophisticated taste and a guaranteed smile are the main, yet simple reasons that make this cocktail an absolute favorite! Created right here in 1919, the Negroni not only embodies a very strong Tuscan character, but also carries along a true peasant tradition: “The scale is in the hand”. True for grandma’s recipes that are never measured on a scale, and true for the perfect Negroni and its 1 to 1 to 1 ratio of liquor. Foolproof… but oh, proof! In absence of an Old Fashioned glass this magnificent drink can be prepared in the size of your choice; we usually end up using our regular osteria style glasses that are extremely rustic but a bit smaller… as long as a large ice cube and a long orange peel are stirred into our drink we do immensely rejoice! Our first priority is the health and well being of our community, staff and customers. With the closings of schools, restaurants, bars and other businesses we are doing everything in our power to remain open. Within our stores we’re focused on protecting the health of our customers and our associates. We have implemented additional cleaning procedures throughout the stores.
