For years Special Operations Snipers have had to deal with a long sniper rifle package during full scale HALO/HAHO and SPIES/FRIES insertions as well as during grueling stalks. Adjusting even slightly to compensate for this during these operations presents even greater danger to the Operator before they even reach the target. The founding members have all used this rifle with great success in combat, but have always had to deal with its shortcomings, both in size and modularity. AD and other current Special Operations members designed this new Mk13 concept to adapt to the needs and rigors of the most current mission sets. The concept being that the rifle, with the addition of a suppressor attached, would still be approximately the same length as current unsuppressed sniper systems and with better balance. More compact size, greater recoil reduction, greater accuracy and less fatigue on the operator. This rifle is designed to be as bomb proof as it is accurate. Jump it out of a plane at 25,000ft, submerge it in the ocean’s salt water, or strap it to an ATV or Gun Truck in the dusty mountains of Afghanistan.
