#SouthernLegends. In a 1975 interview, Charlie Daniels talked about going to Georgia in 1974 to record his Fire On The Mountain album at Capricorn Studios in Macon. Well we were all fans of the Allman Brothers, Charlie said. That was the beginning of us being able to work with the Marshall Tucker Band and Wet Willie and the Allman Brothers, we thought we had died and gone to heaven. We wanted to be part of that early movement that Duane and Gregg Allman started. Duane Allman was a big influence, as well as Dickey Betts. In a 2002 interview, Dickey spoke about playing his classic In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed with Charlie. You know, Charlie always says to me, People just dont jam anymore like they used to. They have you come out and play a little part of a song and call it a jam. You know how Charlie is, hes pretty outspoken. Ive always gotten a kick out of Charlie Daniels. Hes just a good person. These two Southern legends loved to jam and made some beautiful music together...
