Corbett, Seen is the Farissier Esso station, at Crescent Avenue and John Dow Avenue. Maurice Farissier and his wife moved to Waldwick in 1926. He did mechanical work out of a rented garage until he had his house moved back and this station built in 1930. His soon took over the business, later selling it to Ralph Van Eyck Sr. in 1974. Ralph Van Eyck Jr. runs the station today. LAND studio has been considering ways in which more of our daily activities can occur in the public realm, and we came up with The City Is Our Museum, to shine a light on artworks and public spaces that can be found around town. We are creating tours of various parts of the city that can be experienced on a bike, on foot, or even through a car window. Tour #1 is a loop through the near west side that covers parts of Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway, and Edgewater Park. On this route you will experience the trails, parkland, city sidewalks, murals, sculptures, tunnels, and buildings that give these neighborhoods their unique character. Begin and end wherever you like, and complete all or part of the loop. The approximate length of tour #1 is 4.5 miles, with a few branches that would add some distance. LAND would love to see what sparks joy for you, so please share the ways you see inspiration in the city! Be safe, have fun, and give us feedback on your adventure! Well there were a few that guessed DaBryan correctly. Here is what I know from my research. There were 3 builders of 4 door broncos Centurion, Magnum and DaBryan. With Centurion and Magnum not truly being a Bronco at all like most people think. Centurion and Magnum started with a truck chassis and just used Bronco sheet metal from Ford and they built everything else. Nothing about them are truly Bronco. So DaBryan only built a total of 35 - 4 door Broncos. These are truly 4 door broncos unlike thier counterparts. DaBryan actually started with a Bronco chassis rather than a truck and went from there. Up until last week there were only 2 DaBryan Broncos known to exist. Both of those were the Brick(87-91) body. This one was sent to us by a friend and it turned out to be a THIRD DaBryan and currently the ONLY known OBS bodied DaBryan known to still exist. It was sitting in a field in Arkansas. We got it picked up and headed to get up and running. Story is it was parked because the battery wouldnt hold a charge. Needless to say we are pretty stoked to own one of these rare pieces of history. We will keep everyone posted about its progress.
